I was waiting for a review of the Fall shirts, but I will weigh in for Winter: skip. I liked the summer ones so much . . . I try not to wear black when I can avoid it so for the Fall, I chose from previous collections. They’re awful. Thin, poorly constructed. One was from this year, the one with “pebbled vegan leather” which is code for vinyl. And not pebbled vinyl either-it has a light striped pattern I can run my fingernail up and down. I will say the Customer Service is fantastic, but all three are going back and I’m skipping Winter.

No thanks! I’m not currently a subscriber and this doesn’t do it for me. Glad that I’m not the only one who doesn’t feel that this fits “winter” – I’m in Ohio so two short sleeves? Brrr. Also while my boyfriend has a cat, I have two dogs and am firmly a dog lady. Not so sure that I could wear the cat shirt to work.

I’m surprised and unhappy with this quarter’s selection. I find the pearl print t-shirt tacky and the baggy cat tee is basically a sleep shirt. The purple top at least looks like something I could wear to the office. I’m disappointed – this is normally one of my favorite subscriptions! I will email them to see if I can skip this quarter.

The pearl shirt is odd. I remember a few years ago when that faux necklace look was in. Seems rather adolescent.

That being said, excited for the purple shirt although I hate tight cuts. I’ll size up…glad that’s an option. Not all of us have flat belly.

The cat shirt I’m excited about. I can actually see how it ties in with a more classic idea. I feel like professional women are more relaxed. I won’t wear it to work but I think it will be awesome for lounging and girl nights.

My concern with E&C is not that they’re straying from the basics…it’s that their sizing and structure seems off lately.

Other than that, still my favorite subscription 🙂

I think I like the plum….the cat is kinda cute. Not sure about that pearl shirt though….

If their intent is to move away from classic basics to whatever this is trying to pass as trendy I’ll have to cancel. That’s sad since I’ve subbed since their very first box years ago. I’ve never even so much as skipped a collection. The shirts are such a huge departure from their stated business model of classy and classic basics that I’m utterly baffled. While I’m a devoted animal rescuer and longtime pet mom I don’t wear cartoon animals on my clothing, certainly not for work or going out for the evening. The pearl print shirt is equally odd. It reminds me of something you’d see on a tour bus headed for Atlantic City. And that’s saying a lot considering I live in Vegas! And to offer only one long sleeve option for WINTER? Sorry but it’s a big no for me.

agreed – opted only for purple one. i need color in my life

I was really happy to see purple from E & C (I hate neutrals). But, mesh shoulder panels? No. I am in need of a new work wardrobe but I guess this is not the season I sign up for this subscription…

(I like cats and wear cat shirts. But not pocket t-shirts with skirts to work…)

I guess I’m in the minority, but I’m LOVING the top two shirts. I was hesitant at first, but I think they are going to work perfectly transition from wearing with a pencil skirt at work to skinny jeans and boots at night, so I’m happy. I liked the Kimber at first, until I saw the cat. I’m a dog person, and it just isn’t me at all. I’m grabbing one of the classic shirts they offer as my third piece in my box. I prefer sleeveless shirts so that they can be worn year round and only need a cardi or blazer to make “winter friendly.” I’m looking forward to it after skipping the fall box!

umm… I’m not exactly sure about how I feel about these.

On one hand, I’m a crazy cat lady so I do like the cat shirt, but I would have never expected it for E & C.
I’m not big on having prints on shirts so the pearl one isn’t for me.
The other one I think is good, but I’m just surprised its short sleeve.

But it looks like they’ve done some updates to their website so you can choose sizes for shirts individually and there’s detailed size charts for every shirt.

Except the size charts omit one of the key measurements-bust. The ones included are fairly useless save for sleeve length.

Wow.. this is.. unimpressive? Take a look at Winter 2015 box.. so much more winter appropriate. Three tee shirts? 🙁

LT

I just emailed to ask up winter. I was hoping for some better cold weather choices and am surprised that two out of three are short-sleeved. Plus I’m a dog person, so the cat didn’t do it for me 🙂
Happy with my fall box, though! Even though the burgundy shirt is not burgundy in the slightest.

*skip winter.

I like the bottom 2! I have discovered I can’t to their cotton/modal combos…way too clingy for my tastes. Hoping the Kimber is truly oversized and not clingy. I live in Chicago and while a sweater would have been nice, I can wear either of those under a cardigan or blazer…so I’m good.

What happened? I love E & C and have several of their pieces, but these are so off. The only one possibly business appropriate is purple, which is a color I don’t wear. The cat is cute, but a little too cute, and the pearl one is just plain ugly.

Abby

Agreed! I’ve already emailed to see about getting shirts from past boxes instead of these.

I love the fall box so much I bought another one, the same 3 shirts. What I find out is, you can now add a shirt to your box for $20 each as long as your box has not shipped. But going back to buy past seasons are now $40 a shirt, which I had done a lot, and won’t be doing going forward. I am disappointed at the 2 short sleeves. I like the plum but do not know how I will wear it except with a suit. My office is very cold in the winter so I have to have long sleeve or a jacket.

Mandy

I was hoping for something more wintery in the winter box. T-shirts aren’the practical in Ohio in the winter. How about a sweater or something?

I really hope I’m not alone here and I mean this in the nicest way but WHAT THE HECK. A cat print pocket? Pearl necklaces printed on a black tee? This feels like the kind of wardrobe noise I subscribe to E and C to avoid. What happened to crisp, tailored basics? I understand they’re branching out to different customers but this feels like a 180. I guess I’ll just get more of the basics this quarter? Hopefully people love these. That way I can get a few Liz Lemons and not worry about them selling out. 🙂

Veronica

Same! I loved their past shirts because they were basic yet edgy work appropiate clothing. This ummm i don’t even know what to say other than im going to have to look and see if i can replace them for a past season shirts

Heather

You are definitely not alone. I agree with all of your sentiments! I’m kind of relieved that I don’t like this collection since I was planning to skip or cancel anyway.

Melissa

I am with you on this. I looked at the collection and said what the heck as well! I like the purple shirt, but the other two are a miss for me. I guess I will be getting a Liz Lemon this quarter.

Re the Kimber (which sounds adorable) – wouldn’t it be helpful if their picture actually, you know, SHOWED the pocket with the cat print? SMH…:)

Ashley

If you look on their website there are more views of it that show the cat print 🙂

Oh, there it is now – thanks Liz!
