Each month comes with an information card detailing each item in your box. They also display any variant possibilities that items can have from box to box- this month had a couple different comic covers.
Each block now comes with a $10 ShirtPunch voucher. You can use this in their store to buy shirts and toys!
Guardians of the Galaxy Shirt - Value $15?
I'm loving the shirt this month! I actually put this one right after taking the photos, and I like that we get a shirt with the comic version of GotG!
Suicide Squad Hat - Value $15-20?
The next item is a Suicide Squad hat. I love the large, bold, print on the front.
Under the brim is cool, too. It shows off the cast from the movie!
Finally, on the back, it says "In Squad We Trust". Like all hats I've received in boxes, this one is a snapback hat so that it can fit the most subscribers possible.
Suicide Squad #1 - Value $2.99
The first comic of the month is one of three comics in the DC Rebirth line. This one also has an exclusive variant cover. I was never much of a fan of Harley and the Suicide Squad - but I liked this first issue, they even threw in a Pokemon GO reference! While I was reading it I kept thinking "I really like this graphic work", and of course, it's Jim Lee!
There's a great little Deadshot short on the back end of this issue as well - it definitely got me more interested in the character!
Harley Quinn #1 - Value $2.99
They include both issues #1 and #2 from Harley's new line, which might be a subscription box first! For each issue, you could have received 1 of 2 covers. I'm not a big Harley fan, but these issues were fun - they include zombies and that's always going to be a fun read!
Harley Quinn #2 - Value $2.99
And here is issue #2 - what an awesome cover variant! I really didn't expect to find a zombie infestation to kick off Harley's Rebirth line - it's definitely a fun read.
Verdict: I enjoyed this month's Comic Block! While I didn't receive comic lines that I love, I did get to jump into some new stories that were definitely fun - and that's really what I'm looking for most in a subscription box. And the shirt! I love the shirt this month - so that's a big win for me. I liked the style of the hat, but I'm not sure that it's one that I'd wear on a regular basis. With the addition of the ShirtPunch voucher, I think this box has pretty good value - but that may well depend on if you value the voucher.
