The Girl With All the Gifts by M.R. Carey - Value $11.48 on Amazon (retail price $15.00)

OMG I just started this book and It Is INTENSE. What a great read! From Amazon:

Melanie is a very special girl. Dr Caldwell calls her "our little genius."

Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class. When they come for her, Sergeant keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite, but they don't laugh.

The Girl With All the Gifts is a groundbreaking thriller, emotionally charged and gripping from beginning to end.

This month, Beautiful Madness was able to get this packet of notes on the book, including the story it is based on, from author M.R. Carey! I absolutely love when book subscriptions provide exclusive content! This is so awesome!

Caution Tape Socks by Sock It To Me - Value $12

Check out these awesome socks! I love quirky socks, and these take the cake. Plus they go along well with the design and theme of the book!

Hangry Handy Tote by Blue Q - Value $9.99

This is my new all-time favorite lunch bag! This is hilarious. It also looks almost exactly like me when I get hangry.

Booklight Clothespin by Kikkerland - Value $8

You know, in my life I've probably received somewhere between fifty and one hundred book subscription boxes, and this is the first time I've ever received a book light. Good call, Beautiful Madness! I use them all the time. This is a great one, too. It's nice and bright, lightweight, and there's no bulkiness clipping it on to the book. It works brilliantly and it's super easy to use with a big power button inside the clip. I love this!

Zipper Mason Jar Bag by Kikkerland - Value $4 (filled with assorted snacks valuing about $14)

I love the design of this reusable zipper bag! We will use this for all kinds of things at my house. It's cute and much sturdier than a regular zipper bag.

beautiful-madness-september-2016-tea

I have tea from Harney & Sons all the time, and I just love it. They make the fanciest tea bags ever!

beautiful-madness-september-2016-granola

I fully planned on putting this bar at the bottom of my purse to use as emergency rations, but I got hungry and ate it. It was so delicious! I love the sweet and salty combination.

beautiful-madness-september-2016-fig-bar

I can't stand fig bars, but my husband loves them, so I passed these on to him. He said they tasted amazing. Even better than the leading brand!

beautiful-madness-september-2016-gummies

Although I'm not a fan of sugary snacks for kids, I think Annie's Organics is at least a step in the right direction. I gave these to a little toddler pal (with her mother's permission). She loved them, of course.

Verdict: I am officially a HUGE fan of Beautiful Madness Book Case! I might think this every month, but I think this is my favorite box from them ever! The lunch bag sealed the deal. I will totally use everything in the box this month! The value this month comes to about $60, which is really great for a $46.50 box, especially a book-centric one. Plus those notes from the author! I love it!

I read The Girl with all the Gifts last year and was amazed at how emotional it made me feel about the little girl. It really made me rethink that whole genre of z-fiction!

I love that Hangry bag! This box does feel a little different from other book subs. I might have to sub to this…

Also, that book…Really riveting read. I devoured it! I had heard great things about tgis book and avoided info on it before I read it because I didn’t want to get spoiled (although I think the first big reveal is easy to figure out pretty quickly) and I was pleased that my interest did not wane. I was worried that the premise would be gimmicky but I really became invested in the characters. It was an interesting ride.

I really enjoyed reading the review on this month’s box. I loved every item. I have to get my hands on that book! The price is a little high for me, but I do love the items and their usefulness.

I’ve been thinking the same. I may cancel a box or two so I can afford this one. I purchased the Chapter One box by itself and loved the contents.

I was so intrigued that I read the previous reviews. The lunch bag is too cute, and the book is on my To Be Read list. Now, I just need to find an excuse to get myself a gift.

I have been wanting to read that book for ages. I almost bought it last night at Barnes and Noble but held off, and then I woke up this morning to an e-mail that it’s a daily deal on Amazon and the kindle version is $2.99 today. It’s kind of pathetic how excited I got.

This is definitely the next sub I will be adding. I keep missing the deadline for the month and thinking I will wait until it’s closer to the next month, but clearly that isn’t working for me. I think I will go ahead and sign up today.

Thanks for telling us about the kindle price! I bought it and cannot put it down. 🙂

You’re welcome! I’m making myself finish at least one of the books I’m in the middle of before i start this one, but I’m chomping at the bit.

Marion

Wow, that’s nice! It is a heftier price than some other book boxes, but I just cancelled two of my book subs because I felt like the items I was getting were very cheap & had overblown value listings. I’d be willing to pay the price tag for a nicer box like this!
