This month's box is all about "Respiratory Power!" One thing I love about this box is that Herb Stop's themes are impeccably timed. Fall is definitely respiratory distress season, and I love that we will have these oils on hand!
The information sheet from Herb Stop is really impressive. There's a lot of knowledge packed in here! Every oil they sent is matched with three different usage tips. That's really helpful! Plus on the reverse side, there is a recipe for a clean sheets linen spray!
I also wanted to point out that their information sheet contains important safety information under each oil. A reader recently mentioned the dangers of essential oils and cats, so I thought I would mention this. It's definitely great info to have on hand.
Cajeput - I love that Herb Stop has started included mostly essential oils that are more obscure. I had never heard of cajeput before, but it is often referred to as "white tea tree." It does smell like tea tree oil! It's good for opening up the airways, plus it's a flea and lice repellant.
May Chang / Litsea - This smells a lot like lemongrass, but even more potent if you can imagine that! This is good for asthma and bronchitis, plus it has natural antiseptic properties.
Ravensara - This smells a bit like rosemary, which I love. Ravensara is an anti-viral and immunostimulant. Nice! It's good for all kinds of illnesses including shingles, muscle cramps, depression, lethargy, bronchitis, sinusitis, colds, and flu! That's impressive!
Thief Oil - Wow, I can definitely smell the clove in this! This blend of essential oils is great for preventing illness. In fact, the way it got its name is from thieves during The Plague who looted the dead but managed to never catch the disease themselves. So interesting!
Verdict: I am consistently impressed with the Herb Stop Essential Oil subscription. As I mentioned, the timing of their well-curated themes is absolutely wonderful and spot-on. I also really appreciate that they include safety information. Essential oils are pretty expensive, and the amount of oil in these vials is small. A little will go a long way, though, so I personally prefer having small amounts rather than bigger bottles I never use completely. The biggest part of the value to me, however, is all of the know-how that is packed into the info sheet! It speaks to not only what to use the oils for, but many different ways to apply them. I think if you are interested in learning A LOT about how to use essential oils to improve your health and your life, then this box is definitely for you!
