Good To Know: Sci-Fi Block, like all other Nerd Blocks, does not have a monthly theme - but you will know, at least, 3 franchises that will be in the box before it ships.
Each month comes with an info card with all the information you need to know about your box.
Another new feature across all blocks, including Sci-Fi Block, is that you'll receive a $10 ShirtPunch credit in every box. You'll be able to purchase shirts and toys from their site. Personally, I've been getting POPs with these credit vouchers - in most cases, I end up only paying the $6 shipping charge.
Planet of the Apes Shirt - Value $15?
This month's exclusive shirt features Planet of the Apes. It's a cool design featuring that classic scene! While I'm not a huge fan of the movies, I absolutely appreciate a classic - I usually end up watching them with my parents.
Zapp Brannigan POP - Value $8-9 on Amazon
This month, everyone received a Futurama POP! Who did you receive? My POP was Zapp Brannigan - who is new to my collection, so I couldn't have received a better POP selection!
Doctor Who Time Squad Keychain - Value $10-15
This month, subscribers also received a Doctor Who vinyl keychain. These are blind box - so you could have received numerous variants of possible characters.
I received the Weeping Angel as my blind box vinyl keychain.
You can also remove the keychain from the top of the vinyl figure if you'd like to simply display it upright.
Terminator Mega Bloks Build A Character - Value $6.99
This month also featured an item from Terminator: Genisys. Everyone received a resistance soldier build-a-character.
Here's the completed Mega Blok scene. The soldier had numerous little items you could add to him if you like - or you could store them in one of the little crates!
Lost in Space Robot Model - Value $10
The final item in the box is a plastic model for the Lost in Space Robot.
There are a bunch of little pieces to assemble. You will need rubber cement or some type of glue for this project - which we did not have.
Verdict: This Sci-Fi Block didn't hit many of my personal fandoms, so it's hard to call it a big win. That being said, I'll take a Futurama POP any day of the week - I love that item! If you're a fan of the more old-school Sci-Fi, this would be a really good box for you - as I rarely see Lost in Space or Planet of the Apes in subscription boxes.
