This month's box unfolded into a temple - this is my favorite box transformation yet!
It's also a great setting for Lara!
The box always is accompanied by a booklet and themed pin. In the booklet, you can get details about each item in your Loot Gaming box.
Here is a better look at the 'Stranded' pin. A survival knife planted on a deserted island - can't get much more 'Stranded' than that.
Far Cry Primal Shirt - Value $15?
This month's shirt features Far Cry: Primal. Pretty much every single Far Cry game has been great. I haven't had a chance to play Primal, but I can pretty much guarantee that it's an awesome and fun game. Any Far Cry fans out there want to chime in?
Lara Croft Vinyl Figure - Value $10-15?
This is a little vinyl version of Lara Croft - she's the size of a Funko Mystery Mini. Major complaint - the figure can't stand! Her head has too much weight and is tilted forward - so the figure just falls over all the time. I would have liked to see them include some type of base with this specific figure.
Also - How has it been 20 years already!? Does anyone remember the first time you faced the T-Rex in the first Tomb Raider?
I remember this game as being groundbreaking for this genre - at least for myself. Also, I thought the graphics "looked real". It was a simpler time.
I love the current gen reboot of Tomb Raider. A lot. It's one of the best adventure game lines out today - I highly recommend giving it a try if you haven't.
Assassin's Creed Black Flag Flask - Value $10-15?
Next up is a flask from Assassin's Creed: Black Flag. This is the only Assassin's Creed that I got fully engrossed in - even though I know there are some awesome Assassin' Creed titles aside from it.
Here's a better look at the embroidered logo in the faux-leather. It's a cool item - and it's appropriate to the game itself.
Speaking of the first time seeing the T-Rex in the original Tomb Raider - I still remember battling the White Whale in Black Flag - that was a great moment when you finally won that battle.
Dead Island Banoi Resort Towel - Value $25-30?
This falls into the "hardest item to photograph" category for me. It's a large (30x60) 100% cotton towel. It's nicely done, too. It's a resort towel from Banoi Royal Palms Resort - the setting for the game Dead Island. Naturally, the island is overrun by zombies - so what you're left with is the aftermath towel.
Verdict: Loot Gaming seems to be going down the 'quality over quantity' route - which I appreciate. There's no filler in the box - and I thought these were unique items. While the titles weren't ones that I often play - except Tomb Raider - I still like the items a lot! I am disappointed that my favorite item, the vinyl figure, can't really be displayed since it just falls all the time - I'll be on the look out for solutions. Overall, this is a good box - it might even be a great box had I loved each title.
