Every month, Kiwi Crate includes a copy of explore! magazine. My son loves this magazine! He always wants to try all of the activities in it, and it also has some cute comics and short articles that are perfect for his reading level. This month's theme is "the power of water"!

Kiwi Crate seems to have recently transitioned from 2-3 small projects to one larger project. This month's project is a water wheel!

Here's a peek at the instructions. They are always complete and easy to follow.

This is my son's completed water wheel! It turned out so great! He was really excited about it and completed all of it almost completely unassisted. He can pour water into the funnel on the top, and the water turns the wheel. The turning wheel then pulls the boat in by the string. So fun! It works just like this:

How awesome is that?

Also included in the supplies pictured above this month was everything my son needed to complete some animal splash paintings. I think they turned out great!

Verdict: Kiwi Crate is so awesome! My eight-year-old and I both love it! It is consistently top-notch in every regard - printed materials, supplies, project selection - everything is always really well done. The projects can usually be completed in about an hour, and it's honestly one of our funnest hours all month. I would say at $20 per month, it's an incredible value!

Full disclosure, I don’t have kids – so not really a fan of children’s art, and have no reason to compliment it. That being said, I would completely frame those two pictures and put them up on my walls! Great job lil’ Rodriguez!
