gina-louise-aug-letter

This letter was included in my box this month. This month's clothes were chosen for a sightseeing vacation! It has a nice image of everything she chose for me at the bottom. That's a nice touch.

Here's a little bit about how this subscription works. Basically, you pay your styling fee and receive your box full of clothes and accessories. You have three days to decide what you would like to keep and what you want to return. They send a return envelope so you can send back anything you don't want to keep, and the postage is pre-paid so you don't have to pay to return things. You're charged for what you do keep. It's that simple!

gina-louise-aug-invoice

This is my invoice for the package. The retail prices are listed, but as a Bling Box member, I get a special VIP discounted price on the items sent. If I choose to keep everything in the box, I get a 20% discount on the whole thing. And of course, my styling fee is deducted from whatever I decide to keep. My styling fee is listed as $20, as you can see. Once you have been a Bling Box member for three months, your styling fee is dropped from $49 down to $20. That's awesome! In this case, the original retail price for all the items was $459. If I keep everything in the box, my outstanding cost is only $222.40!

gina-louise-aug-tape

This is new! Gina included a tape measure this month with a request for measurements! She plans to keep everyone's measurements on file to help them determine best fit. What a great idea!

gina-louise-aug-bookmark

This month's package also included a gift from my stylist. She knows I am a musician, so she sent me this cute music bookmark. That was a really thoughtful gift!

gina-louise-aug-shoes

gina-louise-aug-shoes-2

Beige Ballet Flats - Price to keep $39

These shoes are listed as "Peep Toe Beige Heels" on my invoice, so I don't really know what that's all about. These shoes are so pretty! They're not a good width on me, though, so I think I will have to send these back. Even if they weren't, high-top shoes are generally not flattering on my short, chunky legs.

gina-louise-aug-bag

gina-louise-aug-bag-2

Travelers Cross Body Bag - Price to keep $35

This cute bag has an adjustable length strap. I usually carry bigger bags, but this one might be good for going out. It is definitely (just) big enough for my phone, keys, wallet, and lip gloss. Now for a new feature of my styling reviews:

[yop_poll id="28"]

gina-louise-aug-necklace

gina-louise-aug-necklace-2

Russian Gold Boho Necklace - Price to keep $24

This is so pretty! I love the detailing on the pendant, and I love the vintage feel. The tassels hang a big low for my tastes, but with a modest blouse it could be quite sexy without being too overt.

[yop_poll id="29"]

gina-louise-aug-hat

Straw Hat - Price to keep $24

I love the idea of hats, but I don't think they look very good on me. I'm happy that this one is big enough for my head, though! It could definitely be useful for keeping the sun out of my eyes, too.

[yop_poll id="30"]

gina-louise-aug-outfit

Olive Drape Blouse - Price to keep $38

This blouse is kind of confusing to me. I'm not even 100% sure I'm wearing it right! I think it might be too big, but I'm not sure. I don't think it's very flattering on me, unfortunately.

[yop_poll id="31"]

Jersey Maxi Skirt - Price to keep $38

I love this skirt, though! It's so soft and light and comfortable! I don't know if I would have chosen this color for myself, but it's a nice neutral, and now that I have it on I am really digging it!

[yop_poll id="32"]

gina-louise-aug-tunic

gina-louise-aug-tunic-2

Italian Silk Blend 2-Piece Sweater - Price to keep $50

This tunic is listed as a 2-piece item, so my first question is:

[yop_poll id="34"]

Haha! I really like this for fall, actually. Its not too hot and I like the color and length a lot.

[yop_poll id="33"]

gina-louise-aug-poncho

Organic Poncho - Price to keep $50

I love this poncho! I actually don't think I've ever had one before. It has such an awesome boho vibe! It's super soft and comfy, and wow, it really does hide my whole body. Hooray! I can't wait for the weather to cool off so I can wear this constantly.

[yop_poll id="35"]

Verdict: I really enjoy my Gina Louise Bling Box, and I totally look forward to it every month! I think she puts together such great looks, and I can always count on getting really unique pieces. The prices are also quite reasonable!

I hope you enjoyed the new poll feature! Please feel free to answer honestly, you won't hurt my feelings a bit. I will probably keep the poncho no matter what, though!

totally agree on the pics and the poll. How fun and creative! I sub to this and the Dia box and you inspired me to get that wrap dress from Dia; it arrives soon and I hope I look as good in it as you do!! I agree with all of the above about the twist top. I swear, I have never seen anyone out and about in one of those twist tops. Who is wearing those things and imposing them on the rest of us??? That plum tunic is fantastic. Is it long enough to wear as a dress? Would look great with boots! That poncho looks soo good on you. I wonder if I will get that too but white is tricky for me on top. That bag is a good buy and a nice wardrobe staple. You can dress it up with the plum belt/scarf thingy!

ljeb2003

The plum top is fantastic. Don’t bother with the belt/scarf thing. Or use it in your hair as a hair tie.

Teresa

I kinda thought the same thing, use it however you like. It matches the tunic so be creative and do what you feel. The twist top is horrible. The little purse is totally cute.

I have never been clear on how the clothing subs work. Is the monthly charge just a ‘fee’ to send me a box? If I send it all back, am I just out the monthly charge?

Reply ButtonReply

Jess

KC, The fee is a Styling Fee but it is deducted from whatever you decide to keep.

Reply ButtonReply

KC

Thanks, Jess. I think I’ll stick to buying clothes the old fashioned way and saving myself a monthly charge, lol.

Hi Anna, thank you so much for your real time demos of clothes and products–for those of us with different measurements (for instance, my short legs), it really helps seeing items worn, how they hang on the body, length, etc. The interactive voting is a lot of fun and a great concept, Brava! I hope the other commenters follow suit… Also your reviews bring up all kinds of concerns I have when trying on clothes ordered online; am I wearing it right? Does it look like it fits correctly? etc. Very impressed with presentation and honesty in all your reviews.

Anna I love reading your reviews and watching u model the clothes and axsessorises I just love the purple blouse and the poncho on u! Very pretty !

Js

Agree. And the hat I would’ve voted to return except I scrolled and saw how great it looked on you. Keep it!

Anna

Thank you so much, nurse! That means so much to me!

:)

I love that you’re sharing pictures in your reviews now. That sweater looks really good on you– I voted that I thought it was a scarf, but it may be a belt.. looks really good as a scarf, though. I voted “no” to keeping the hat, because although it looks nice on you, it doesn’t sound like you’ll wear it.

Agree on keeping hightop shoes off short, chunky legs! I have the same problem. I’m thinking of starting up stitch fix again, and am building up a pinterest board. I love the look of people with skinny jeans and loose shirts, but I’m trying to be careful not to pin too many, because what I’m loving is how those outfits look on people with skinny legs– somehow doesn’t look the same on me!

Anna

Thank you :), and I’m with you 100%!

You look ADORABLE in that hat. I think you pull it off. Purple sweater: soooo cute on you. Great review. Poll was a great idea.

Thanks so much, Jen!

I’m like soooo many others, I LOVE your reviews!!!! I think it’s awesome you’re modeling them! It helps so much to actually see them on.
The poll aspect is great! I also liked the purple, not so much the olive, it did hang strange or something lol

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Yes it did, LOL. Thanks for your kind words, TJ!

Reply ButtonReply

chris

Love the polls, Anna! I feel like you brought all of us reader friends to your home and we were going through the box together with you! So fun.

Also I think it works as both a belt and a scarf…

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks chris! I wish there was some way for everyone to try on their clothes and get a vote! Maybe some day…

You look gorg in the plum tunic, either belted or scarfed — it has a medieval/artsy vibe but is also chic. The tassel necklace is really pretty too.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks Belinda!

Marion

The poll feature is fun! I agree that the sweater-belt combo looks great on you.

I think you’re wearing the olive top correctly — I have a few with that crossover-twist style bottom, and it looks to me like this one was designed by someone who saw the trend & decided they want to do it, but maybe didn’t know how to proportion it? The styles that I have occasionally bunch up & ride high in the middle, but all it takes is for me to grab the side seams near the bottom hem of the top & pull them outward to straighten/adjust how the top falls. It doesn’t look like that would work with this shirt! I also find with this style of top that it doesn’t have very well-defined shoulders, so sometimes the seams start to slip backwards toward my shoulderblades, which can pull on it & make it hang weird in front, too.

Anna

Thanks Marion!

TARA

Your reviews are my favorite, Anna. Like the polls, LOVE that poncho on you.

Reply ButtonReply

Zo

I second everything Tara said – the reviews, the polls, and the poncho!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Awesome! Thank you Zo!

Anna

OMG you just made my day, Tara. Thank you so much!

The poll feature is awesome!!! I think $35 for that bag is great. I often carry small bags with just the essentials while traveling and throw it into a larger bag/tote. You can quickly grab the little bag when jumping out at a rest stop or to find your ID or phone at the airport. This is a good system at home, too, as you can just take the little one to run to get gas or go in the grocery store and be hands free! My mom was a giant purse only person until she got on board with the bag in a bag system and now she loves not hauling her giant purse inside when she just needs to do a return! Try it! 🙂

Anna

I totally will! Thanks Chelsea!

The polls are fun! That plum top looks great on you. 🙂 Thanks for the review!

I love the polls! How fun! It’s also interesting to see what other people think. 🙂

Thanks JacLyn! I’m so pleased people seem to like it!

That skirt is a beautiful color on you! Definitely keep it! I love my maxi skirts because my weight fluctuates a lot and they look awesome whether I’m a 6-12! Most don’t have slits but some do which is always perfect poolside when I want a tad more coverage

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks Marissa!

You are wearing the olive top right (I have a very similar top in black), but I don’t like it on you. The sleeves are just too long and I don’t like where it hits on you. I wear mine with skinny jeans only to not look like a short rectangle.

Although I love me some maxi skirts, I don’t like that color, sorry.

The purple top and the poncho, though? HELL YEAH. They both look fantastic on you.

My rules on clothes-buying (and I buy a lot), is (1) to never buy anything I am hesitating on because ultimately what I don’t like about it will be the reason I won’t wear it and (2) only buy what I feel incredible in. I’ve wasted too much money and many years learning those lessons.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

That is some sage advice right there, A. Thank you!

Loba

I have to comment on the olive shirt first. I think you have it facing the correct way but I do think the bottom portioned may not be on correctly. Did the fabric feel oddly bunched up on the bottom? (Confused as to if the black part is part of the shirt or a tank you’re wearing). If that bottom part can be fixed then I would get it but that’s because I am still breastfeeding and that would be a great breastfeeding top. You look miserable in it though so – send it back!

My favorite items are that purple tunic (that has to be a scarf with it because why cinch the tunic with some loose piece of fabric?). It looks great on you and that color looks great on you!

That poncho! I love. But I have a affinity for ponchos and that color so I am biased. My only problem with ponchos, someone help me out please, is wearing them and living us hard for me. Like trying to wrangle kidfos and a bag (especially a diaper bag) means the poncho shifts on me. Are you supposed to put on your purse and then the poncho?

I really line that purse. Super cute and versatile and everyone should have a smaller bag that can work for when you don’t want to carry a bunch of things (also can work as a purse you throw your essentials into and leave in a bigger bag and when you need just the essentials like at work going to lunch or going to the store you leave the big bag behind and run in with the smaller bag).

The skirt is fine but I seriously feel like you could find that online for $20.

That hat had potential (cool gat to pack for a vacation) but it didn’t unroll (unfold?) well.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Wow, thanks for your input Loba! I’m earing a black tank underneath the olive top, so IDK??? I also didn’t think about the practical issues of wearing a poncho! It’s not super long over the arms, though, so hopefully it will work out.

Reply ButtonReply

Jodie

Love the skirt, purple tunic, and the necklace, poncho! Get them all lady! Hated the hat, looks poor quality, and the bunchy top didn’t work for you… But the purse was super cute too! Sometimes I love a small bag, put the crossbody in before the poncho if you are heading out to walk around all day. It’s easier and looks better for sure. I have lots of ponchos! I think you should wear hats though, you do look good in a hat, but you should maybe get a more structured polished looking hat boho hat for fall. That one would be ok for summer, or for maybe a festival in the sun…

Ali

The olive blouse looks like it’s meant to be reversible? Maybe? I have a top that looks a lot like that and I wear it reversed with a cami underneath.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Maybe so, I’m not sure… Thanks for the suggestion Ali!

Reply ButtonReply

Steph R

LOVE the voting option! How fun! And thanks for modeling!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Cool! Thanks Steph!

Reply ButtonReply

Angela

Love the skirt! Not something I would normally buy but I would definitely do a double take on it since you sold me on the neutral color. I agree that shirt needs to be burned but the poncho is awesome… I was on the fence for the necklace and would love an on the fence poll selection, lol!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

LOL, thanks Angela!

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

The dark purple sweater with the becarf/scelt thing looks incredible on you – yes. yes, yes keep that gorgeous piece. The color, style – it’s perfect. Nice find.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thanks Heather!

Reply ButtonReply

Caitlyn

The purple two piece sweater looks fantastic on you! And yay for trying things on! It definitely helps, often I see things (in a magazine, on the hanger, etc.) that seem lovely and then try them on and think oh no. The olive blouse looks oddly cut, with the length of the shirt and the length of the sleeves not really working together.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Thank you Caitlyn!

Reply ButtonReply

Sarah

Ahhhhh!!! I love love love the voting!!! How fun is that!?!?! The poncho is amazing. I didn’t even know I liked ponchos!! Thanks for the great review!

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Yay! Thanks Sarah!

Reply ButtonReply

Laurie

Yeah, I’m not sure what’s going on with the olive drape blouse…but it’s not flattering on you. I do like the skirt color, though – it’s a nice neutral without being a standard “neutral”, if that makes sense (eg not black or navy). And I really like the plum top with the belt/scarf.

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Agreed. The olive top – Am I doing it wrong? LOL

Reply ButtonReply

GLO

I am sooooooooo HAPPY you modeled everything Anna! You look BEAUTIFUL! XO
