This month’s theme is “Sun Salutation.” Also, on the right is some info about their monthly giveaway: Every month, Yogi surprise sends one subscriber to a yoga retreat somewhere awesome!

This is the info card that was included, detailing the items in this month’s package.

Yogi Surprise also includes a sequence card every month that suggests a yoga sequence to go along with the month and the theme. This month’s sequence is, of course, a sun salutation!

Manduka Equa Yoga Hand Towel – Value $16 (on sale for $12)

I have several of these towels now thanks to subscription boxes, and I have to say they do actually come in handy during yoga, especially in the summer months. Mats can get slippery when wet, and these little hand towels are great for mopping up the sweat.

Anima Mundi Wild Lotus Essence – Value $10

When I saw this, I thought oh cool, another essence. You know, for me to smell. I was wrong! This is actually for ingestion, like a Bach flower remedy. I’m curious, but I think I need to read up on this a bit before I actually drink it.

Gypsy Soul Organics Sun Salutation Salve – Listed Value $3.30

Is it weird for me to say that I’ve been really getting into salves lately? It’s true, though. Summer is the season of bug bites and scrapes, so salves have been key lately. I like that this one is in a lip balm container! Good thinking, Gypsy Soul Organics!

Truth Bar Peppermint Brownie – Value $3

This is one of those snacks that I’m on the fence about. There’s so many good things in the ingredients that I think this will be super nourishing. On the other hand, it has a few ingredients I’m trying to avoid, so I may just pass this along to someone else.

Shea Radiance Whipped Shea Butter with Apricot Oil – Value $15

Wow! This is a huge tub of shea butter! It has a nice light smell, and because it’s whipped it seems to spread a little more evenly. It also says it’s great for sunburn relief – I’ll have to try that some time!

Essential Oils by Alicia Atkinson – $13.33 on Amazon (retail price: $14.99)

One of my all-time favorite things in the world is getting books in subscription boxes, so you can imagine how excited I am about this one! I love essential oils and am a big believer in aromatherapy. I subscriber to two or three different essential oils boxes now, too, so I am so excited to learn more! From Amazon:

Harness some of the greatest untapped resources in the world.

The Complete Guide to Essential Oils empowers everyone from doctors, nurses, and science professionals to teachers, business executives, and homemaker to live a natural and healthy life. Essential oils have been an integral part of human healthcare for thousands of years. It is our body composition and genetics that makes them so ideal for improving our physical and mental health, nutrition, and personal care even in the modern world. The rising and unpredictable costs of the healthcare system motivate many individuals and families to look for safe and effective complementary healthcare options. Essential oil protocols do not replace the important role of doctors and healthcare providers, but they allow readers to support their own healthcare at home.

Here author Alicia Atkinson shares with us a simple yet comprehensive guide to essential oils. The book begins with an overview of the history, science, and methods of use of essential oils, discusses quality and safety, and goes on to explain how essential oils can be used for physical, mental, and emotional health, personal care, nutrition and cooking, home cleaning, and with pets. Each section includes protocols and recipes that are easy-to-follow and create at home. Additionally, the origins and uses of the most common and readily available essential oils are detailed in final section of the book. The Complete Guide to Essential Oils is written in an accessible style that is perfect for both the novice and the experienced essential oil user.

SkinYoga Sandalwood Saffron Face Mask (sample) – Value $10

I tried this mask last night, and I liked the way it smelled and felt, but afterwards I have to admit my skin felt pretty dry. This mask is supposed to help reverse the signs of aging, so I hope it works!

Yogi Surprise also included a promo card for Truth bar and a 15% off card for Gypsy Soul Organics.

Verdict: This was an awesome box from Yogi Surprise! I don’t actually think the theme was very tight this month, but the goodies were so good I don’t really care! I am totally excited about the book! The value this month totals around $67, which is fantastic for a $45 box. I’m a big fan of Yogi Surprise!

  1. I saw a deal for half off and thought about subscribing, but after these comments I’m kinda hesitant.

  2. This is a huge improvement over recent boxes. If they keep this up, I’ll resubscribe.. I dropped it after the month full of sample sized everything.
