I’m not technically a WOC, but I have a significant amount of middle eastern and a bit of black ethnicity and it shows in my skin color. I found this box to be excellent for me. Purple eyeliner is my go to color after black since it works so well with darker skin colors and makes my eyes pop (I have weird hazel eyes with random brown, green and blue specks). The nail polish I received was a dark lavender hue – again great for my skin color. I can always use shave gel and towelettes. I received the true nourishing leave-in conditioner and just about died when I saw coconut and mango on the label. Mango is my favorite scent, coconut is close after. Its a really nice product too. Did this company know my obsession with mango? The purlisse item I received was the lip nourisher in guess what, mango/shea butter. Not overly impressed by that, but I guess fair enough, brand name item.

I’ve been looking for a new box after letting go of my subscription to birchbox and being thoroughly irritated with allure. I am hoping that they include some makeup products in the future for us with darker skin that can’t use the those lighter colored bb creams and foundation samples.

I liked this box better than last month, which was a total bust. I can always use shaving gel, conditioner and enjoy almost all nail polish as long as it’s not nude. I was hoping for the Pur-Lisse brightening cream but instead I got the moisturizer, which I already received from another box. I also got the exact brand and shade of Inky Purple eyeliner in another box and it’s still in my large unopened pile. 🙂 But, repeats and unwanted items are part of the game if you get a lot of subs. Overall, a nice improvement from last month.

I received my package early. I opened it and something leaked. Bummer but I love everything I got. I’m not a women of color but I can use everything in the box. Not bad for $1.
Ciate paint pot – pillow talk
Kajal pen eyeliner – inky purple
Pur~lisse lip nourisher
True leave in conditioner
Dickinson’s witch hazel towelettes
Completely bare no bump shave gel

Colleen

I got my box yesterday and I got a full size inky purple eyeliner, the witch hazel wipes 3 pack, a blue gray nail polish, purlisse moisturizer, ouidad deep conditioner and shave gel. I am pretty impressed. It was a great box. I am Caucasian and I will use it all. I think I am going to keep this subscription , It is a very good value.

Trish

I got the Pur~Lisse Daily Lip Nourisher which is nice! It’s a gel that quickly dissolves into an oil and it feels great. My Ciate Mini is in the shade Pepperminty, it’s cute but teeny tiny. One manicure only! The leave in conditioner looks great too and I’ll use that all up no problem. The eyeliner is ok and I’m feeling interested in trying the face wipes and shave gel. All in all I’m happy and feel I got my money’s worth.
I am not a WOC, but I’ve got curly hair that gets frizzy in humidity so I’m hoping for more curly hair products. Happy with this month!

Mary K

I’m sure you’ll get more than one manicure from the mini Ciate. It’s 5 ml, which is a third of a full-size bottle. Unless you’re a centipede, you should be able to get several manis from the bottle. 😉

Saiza

I wanted the Pur-lisse mask or lip nourisher! I got the eye serum and nail polish in chinchilla. And the Ouidad conditioner, which I’m also not a WOC, but have curly, frizzy hair.

Kay

I just received my box today and I am pleasantly surprised! I got Ciate in “Pepperminty” shown in this picture to the right, Made Beautiful leave in conditioner (which I preferred) and Pur-lisee Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 (doesn’t expire until 04/2019!). My Kajal pen was Inky Purple, but looks like everyone will receive the same color. 4 of the 6 items are new brands to me. My only issue is that my Ciate nail polish looks old as the color is lighter like white in some part of the bottle like it didn’t mix well. I have never owned Ciate before, so maybe that’s how it comes and we have to shake it well?

Christina

Well, I won’t get this box but I am super happy my first box only cost me $1 ! I look forward to the August spoiler !

Emily

Awesome! This looks much better than last month’s box. I think I will use every item.

Alliberri

Well that’s WAY better than last month’s box, in my humble opinion. It was my first and last! Now they step their game up…

Khaleesi

I’m excited about everything but the eyeliner. 5 out of 6 loves…still a great box and a great sub!

Luna

I love the design of the box. It’s one I haven’t seen before, and I love to keep one of each version received.

Dea

I am not a woman of color, but this box is awesome, and $1 is a no-brainer. I’m hopping on! Thank you MSA for making me a beauty box addict!

Candace

I also am not a WOC, but I have very thick/coarse hair (2b/c), and I treat it with a lot of products post-shower (oils and creams), and I think this will be a great sub for me.

Dea

No can do. Their website says that my first box would be August. Never mind. Disappointed…

Barbie

Looks like another great box!

Hoping for the triple treat deep conditioner & the sheet mask.

Sadly, this will be my last Essence Beauty Box for a while. It’s a great sub, and that 20% off coupon is calling my name. Wonder how long I can resist its call! 🙂
