DoohicKey 6x Key Tool by Nite Ize - $4.99
This tool attaches to your key ring and does several things: it can act as a ruler, open bottles, operate as a wrench or flathead screwdriver, and a box cutter. I think I might steal this one - with all my boxes I receive, I need a good box cutter around! This is made of stainless steel and seems like it will hold up nicely!
Shrine Boxer Briefs - $19.99
These are a size large, which won't fit my husband, so we can't comment on fit or effectiveness of the wicking, comfort, etc. They feel like sports wicking fabric and seem like they would be very functional for what they promise. They also look very well made, and seem like they would wash well. They also almost cover the cost of the box completely, which is always nice!
The samples I received here were a pain-in-the-rear to trial - trying to open each little pot without spilling it everywhere was not fun. They also leaked in transit, which The Sample Man mitigated by shipping in a bag! Great thinking on their part! With that said, we generally appreciate Billy Jealousy samples - the products are really good!
This is a pretty strong hold pomade and it does its job well. The scent is nice and clean (reminds me of the Biolage shampoo scent!). The amount in the pot wasn't enough for one day, but it was enough to be able to tell that the product works well.
This is a strong hold molding cream. The scent on this one is more cologne-ish, but not super overpowering.
This is a body scrub and oh man does it smell great! It smells like peppermint and citrus - this would be super refreshing to use on a hot summer day. The exfoliation isn't super deep but it does the job!
Billy Jealousy Devil's Delight
This is a beard oil - which we don't have any use for. With that said, it is kind of a good thing we can't use it because this is what leaked in transit. The scent on this one is a bit puzzling to me - it's pretty heavy and I can't imagine anyone would want that so close to their nose all day. Maybe the scent dissipates throughout the day.
This is a pretty thick shave cream. The scent on this is pretty light and pleasant. It won't be sticking around long after the shave, which is a good thing!
For conditioner, this sample was pretty small and I couldn't really gauge it's effectiveness. It is supposed to be moisturizing while adding volume, as well as strengthening the hair. If this did all of those, I might even purchase it for myself! The scent on this is pepperminty again, which is great!
This is a traditional shave cream. It is pretty thick, the scent is lavender and it is packed full of good ingredients.
Billy Jealousy Sculpt Friction
This is a fiber paste...which I don't really understand. It looks like it is similar to pomade and it acts quite similar as well. It is a bit thicker than pomade though. The scent is pretty light - just a faint hit of something clean smelling!
Niche for Men Face and Body Deodorizing Wipes
These are generously sized wipes. I can see these being handy for travel, to keep in your gym back, or at your desk at work. The scent is pretty strong at first but fades with time. They have pretty good reviews over on Birchbox too!
Jack Black All-Over Wash for Face, Hair and Body - $9.50
This is like the ultimate man product for my husband. He hates having a ton of different products, so he pretty much only uses multi-tasking products. This will be perfect for travel because it's right at that 3 oz mark! The scent isn't my favorite but it seems to fade quickly.
This is made with sandalwood and aloe, along with other great botanicals that help to nourish the skin. The scent is very light, if you can even call it a scent. The texture is almost like a whipped lotion - it's amazing.
Game Day Aftershave Soothing Balm
In contrast to most aftershaves, this is a serum type aftershave, vs an alcohol based aftershave. This has a very light and fresh peppermint scent to it, that I quite enjoy. We found that it was very effective at moisturizing after a shave. I just wish that Game Day posted all their ingredients online - I think that would be really helpful for consumers.
Hair Arousal Wax by Cliff Original - $9.99
This wax is made from sweet almond oil, shea butter, beeswax, nettle leaf extract, horsetail shoot extract, castor oil, and pure essential oils. Cliff Original says that this provides "Medium hold while nurturing your hair and scalp." With all of those great ingredients, I have no doubt it would nurture your scalp! I tried a bit on my hair (I have lots of hair, so I decided to see what it would do!) and it seemed to give a sleek look with a bit of shine. I like it and may steal it for myself.
Aloe and Mint Lip Balm by Cliff Original - $2.99
There are only so many things you can say about lip balm. The scent on this one is nice, since it is mint and it feels very emollient. This also has shea butter and vitamin e in it to add to the soothing properties of the aloe.
Verdict: I am not going to provide a value for this box, since many of the items didn't have a size and thus any value I assigned would be a guess. With that said though, I think this box has an amazing value, since the items I could price come out to about double the cost of the box. This box is great for trying new items, and they throw in really nice bonus items as well.
