MIB-first look1

When I opened the green sheets my first thought was- what a cute little cottage! Unfortunately the box the cottage arrived in was open, so there was quite a bit of black incense on all my items but not too bad.

MIB-welcome letter3

Each MyIrelandBox comes with a welcome letter from the MyIrelandBox team. The letter lists each product included in the box along with a description of where it comes from, what it means and why they chose the product for this month’s box. This is the longest letter I’ve received yet (3 pages). This month’s theme is “The Irish Cottage”.  At the end of the letter they also let you know the upcoming theme for June’s box.

Sealed with Irish Love tote– €10.00? (approximately $11.18 USD)

I love the bold orange on this white tote! The cottage and bicycle was hand drawn by the creator, Mire McKeogh. The art on this tote was designed exclusively for My Ireland Box subscribers so it is one of a kind, how cool! I will definitely put this to use.

Irish Turf/Peat Incense Ceramic Set– €28.00 (approximately $31.31 USD)

This cottage is adorable and you can even customize it! The ceramic set comes with a cottage, stone burner and twelve turf incense mini sods. The concept of this product is based off an Irish tradition. According to the website, at many Irish gatherings a sod of turf would be lifted and wafted around the room. The creators of this product missed the smell of their childhood, so they created this product so everyone could enjoy the turf smell in their own home whenever they wanted to. You take a mini sod, put it on the stone burner and place the cottage over it so the smoke will escape through the chimney. Pretty neat! I will definitely use this next time I have friends over.

Real Ireland Design Postcard– €0.33 (approximately $0.37 USD)

Wow, this image is high quality! It is absolutely beautiful with the red door and fence, plus  how cute is that older man standing in front of his cottage? The picture is so stunning to me because it’s candid with a beautiful background. This is too pretty to mail so I plan on pinning this somewhere in my house.

Verdict: Another good box from MyIrelandBox! I think they nailed “The Irish Cottage” theme since all three items given incorporated a cottage. My favorite item from this month’s box would be the ceramic cottage because it’s so unique!  I estimate the value of this box to be at  €38.33 ($42.86 USD) but it’s not very accurate since I had to guesstimate on two of the three items. I recommend this box to anyone that wants an international surprise or something different than your typical sub. This would also make the perfect gift for an Irish friend!

What do you think about May’s MyIrelandBox? Did you like this month’s box?

  1. This box looks great. I’d use the tote (love the color) and the incense burner.

  2. I just got back from Ireland so it was fun to see this review!
