Info Card

Each box comes with a card detailing the month’s products and prices.

Candied Apple 2 in 1 Illuminating Lip and Cheek Stain (.16 oz.) – $18.95

The lip and cheek stain is made without parabens, mineral oil and phthalates. The color is a bright reddish pink with an iridescent sheen. This is not a color I’d normally reach for, but I tried it and I like it! It’s very thin since it’s a stain and not a gloss. I think it’s fun for summer.

Raspberry Ripple Blush Palette by Trifle (.11 oz.) – $17.95

These three blush shades swirled together are very pretty and natural looking. I just wish the sizing were a bit more generous.

Primal Instinct by So Susan (.27 oz.) – $28.74

Primal Instinct is a clear gel facial primer. It is meant to reduce the appearance of pores and mattify any shine you may have. I don’t normally wear primers, but I tried this one and love how it makes my skin feel so soft and smooth. I think I’m hooked! The price on the website is different from the card. On the website it is selling for $28.74, the card lists the price as $23.95.

The lip and cheek stain and all three blush shades are swatched above.

Shadow Swatches

Blush & Contour by Jelly Pong Pong  (.07 oz.) – $17.95

This palette is meant to be a blush and contour face powder. The website recommends using the peach shade as a blush and then dusting the brown shade just beneath your cheekbones as an enhancer. I can’t imagine fitting a blush brush into one color without the other because this compact is so small. I’ve decided I’ll be using them as a crease and highlighting eyeshadow duo and this works much better for me!

Verdict:  I enjoyed this Lip Love. The retail value of the items (including the pouch) in this month’s Lip Love totals approximately $91 which is a great value! I really love the pouch this month with the hug quote and  sweet bunny.  I’ll be using all the items this month, but the primer is definitely my favorite.

  1. I really like the packaging but there’s just nothing that caught my eye. Sucks but hopefully next month!

  2. Is this intended as a lip product centric subscription? The name certainly implies it, a la Lip Monthly. For that reason it seems odd they only included one lip product and 3 blushes/primers. Then there’s the issue with product sizes which would be disappointing at the sub price.

    • Hi!
It’s not lip-centric, it’s a general makeup subscription. There has been confusion since I’ve been reviewing as to the name “Lip Love”…

  3. I’m intrigued, but there are an awful lot of cheek products for a subscription called “lip love”. I would have expected more lipsticks.

  4. I want it, but 20$ is a bit to much. I would have to cancel play! and ipsy. I do enjoy lip products. Help!!! Lol

  5. Nice! I’m liking the look of this month too, another good bag from them for me 🙂 I’ve been very happy with this sub so far, only one item hasn’t worked for me in the last 3 months since I started subbing, and it was just the shade (hot pink), not the quality or size. Can’t wait for mine to get here, hopefully today or tomorrow !
