Gina Louise is an emerging boho fashion and accessory brand that recently began offering a monthly subscription styling service called the "Bling Box." I love all things boho, so I was excited to have the opportunity to try them out!

Gina Louise kindly sent us this box to review. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

gina-louise-june-notes

These little notes were included in my box this month instead of the usual letter. Since there was no letter, I'll just explain a bit about how it works. Basically, you pay your styling fee and receive your box full of clothes and accessories. You have three days to decide what you would like to keep and what you want to return. They send a return envelope so you can send back anything you don't want to keep, and the postage is pre-paid so you don't have to pay to return things. You're charged for what you do keep. It's that simple!

gina-louise-june-invoice

This is my invoice for the package. The retail prices are listed, but as a Bling Box member, I get a special VIP discounted price on the items sent. If I choose to keep everything in the box, I get a 20% discount on the whole thing. And of course, my styling fee is deducted from whatever I decide to keep. This might be confusing to you since my styling fee has been waived, but normally this line item would have your styling fee ($49) deducted. In this case, the original retail price for all the items was $296. If I keep everything in the box, my outstanding cost is only $173.60!

JudyBlue White Boyfriend Jeans - Price to keep $65

I recently tried some white pants from another styling box, and I noted at the time how fattening white pants seem to be on me. It's really strange, but these white jeans are not fattening at all. In fact, they look really summery and kind of flattering. My husband likes them anyway, so these are a keeper!

Tie-Dyed Dolman Top - Price to keep $35

This top is such an easy win for me... I love tie-dye, I love this color, it looks great with the jeans, and it's nice and oversized. Another keeper!

Gina Louise Original Crochet Collar Dress - Price to keep $65

This is one of Gina Louise's original designs, and it's just beautiful. The invoice notes that it is Modcloth inspired, and it definitely fits that aesthetic perfectly. Mint is not a great color on me, but I think I might give it a try.

Wow, this is a first!

White Bling Rhinestone Sandals by Anna - Price to keep $32

I like these sandals a lot, and they really tie everything together nicely! Sadly, I have weird shaped feet, so this type of sandal doesn't work for me. I have to send these back.

gina-louise-june-necklace

Gold / Crystal Swirl Necklace - Price to keep $20

This necklace is really unique; I don't have anything like it. It's also really pretty! I am definitely going to have to keep this!

Verdict: I am still totally loving my subscription to Gina Louise Bling Box! I feel like this month my stylist pushed a little in terms of my comfort zone, but for the most part it was a good thing! Three of the items I received I totally love, and I'm warming up to the dress. The only thing that definitely won't work are the sandals, but that's nobody's fault, really. Keeping three or four of five items is a sure win when it comes to styling boxes!

The thing that impresses me about the Bling Box is the curation. I don’t care for the boho trend yet Gina picked pieces for me which add an interesting vibe to an existing prep wardrobe without going over the top. My first Bling Box felt highly personalized and I appreciated that Gina adjusted sizing where it was needed. Some of the fabrics did feel a bit thin for the price but was willing to give those garments a pass because summer clothes tend to be overpriced for their fabric and construction and, to my surprise, the garments actually laundered very well. The real “deal” with this box is the stylist herself and her attention to personalization.

The original dress is cute! The other items are ok, but not unique enough to justify the prices.

I love that necklace! Is the dress sheer?

Hi Debra! Me too! The top is a little sheer but the bottom is lined.

I don’t think of myself as “boho” but I do like a lot of this box. I can’t do white jeans, though — I look like a marshmallow in white. Or a ghost. I am pale, pale, pale.

I like the sandals. But I have been going on a binge buying sandals with blingy stuff on them all summer. I am lucky, though, I have perfect size 7 feet and any shoes I buy on the internet always fit.

I will keep this one in mind for when I hit my goal weight!

If you are keeping everything else, it would be cheaper to keep the sandals too. If you send them back you only save $32, if you keep them you get the $43.40 discount 🙂 I’m sure you’d have no problem swapping them.
