Each box comes with a booklet detailing the month’s products and prices. This month’s theme is Lumiere. All products this month are meant to brighten and shine the skin.
Vapour Beauty Halo Illuminator (.24 oz.) – $36
This stick illuminator is gorgeous. It goes on so smoothly and feels very moisturizing. They recommend using it on your shoulders, collarbone, cheekbones, décolletage and under your brow bones. The color is very light and natural.
Hynt Beauty Solare Bronzing Powder – $35
This bronzer just isn’t for me unfortunately. I’m super fair and this bronzer has quite a lot of pigmentation. They do suggest mixing it with body lotion for an all over bronzer and I may have to try that since it didn’t work on my face.
Baudelaire’s Sisal Wash Cloth – $7.50
This wash cloth is made of 100% sisal fiber which is renewable, long-lasting and can be machine washed and dried. It can be used for facial exfoliation or all over the body to increase circulation and remove dead skin cells. I am really excited to get a wash cloth in my box, it feels great!
S.W. Basics Body Scrub (.7 oz.) – $12
Wow this scrub smells awesome! I’ve wanted to try something from S. W. Basics so I was happy to see this included. It’s made with only three ingredients: coconut oil, sugar and shredded coconut. I’ve made similar scrubs myself at home minus the shredded coconut. The jar is very small, but I consider this a bonus item since the Clean Beauty Box only promises 2-4 full size items. I’m very happy with this product and will most likely pick up more next time I’m at Target.
I’ve swatched the illuminator (I’m sorry if it’s hard to see, the color is quite light and I’m so pale) and the bronzer.
Verdict: Clean Beauty Box is quickly becoming my favorite natural beauty box! The value of this month’s box was $90! For organic beauty products I think that’s an amazing value. I think this box does a great job or putting quality above quantity. I like trying new brands and getting full size products. It’s so much nicer to me than foil packets and tiny samples. I definitely recommend this box if you’re looking to go green in your beauty regimen!

If I paid (in my opinion) a ridiculous $38 for this box I would be hopping mad. That price point is crazy but that’s not the worst of it. Two of the 3 main full size items aren’t even appropriate for all potential subscribers. If your skin is dark or very light bronzer and highlighter/illuminator are pretty much useless. The washcloth looks interesting but I can’t get passed the body scrub looking like some kind of chutney.
I LOVE S.W. Basics I didn’t know they had a body scrub, it sounds amazing. I got a Vapour blush in a Birchbox LE box once I think, and it was my favorite, loved it. This box does seem a little pricey, compared to other boxes.
To me it seemed kind of pricey for what we got, at least compared to other natural beauty boxes. I’m all for finding value in curation but at a price point that’s almost double that of their competition, it’s a bit of a stretch. Plus Vapour and SW Basics are natural sub staples so it lacked the overall brand discovery appeal for me. But I liked the bronzer a lot so it was worth a try either way. Definitely try using it with moisturizer. I think that would work really well, at least for facial use anyway.
