Orglamix is a vegan and cruelty free beauty subscription containing loose shadows, glitter pigments, aromatherapy roll-ons, and more.  Many of the items in the subscription will be unique to the subscription and not available in the Orglamix shop (although they will have the same great formula).

Orglamix kindly provided this box at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The box came with an information card detailing the items for April.  The theme was “April showers” and as you will see in a week or two when I get to the May box review, that is a nice lead-in to May’s theme.

Diamond Strobing Powder – Value $18

This is a general-use highlighter (cheekbones, inner corners of eyes, etc.) that is pretty glittery for everyday wear.  On the other hand, you really have to build it up to be able to see it a lot (at least on my pale skin).  This is probably more for weekend or special occasion wear for me.

In the Buff Pure Mineral Eyeshadow – Value $12

This is a nice, wearable color for me.  I do gravitate towards neutrals and browns most of the time.  I can’t find either of the eyeshadows from this box on the Orglamix site, but the subscription box does often contain exclusive shades.

April Showers Pure Mineral Eyeshadow – Value $12

This is a little bold for me for eyeshadow but I am trying to get more adventurous in this area.  The information card suggests using it near the lash line.  For what it’s worth, I love the formulas for the Orglamix shadows.  They just go on so smoothly and are really pigmented.

Here are swatches of the strobing powder and eyeshadows.  I don’t have any primer under any of them.  That is quite a few swipes over my arm of the strobing powder.

Miracle Peel Microdermabrasion Mitt – Value $13.95

I got something similar to this in a Birchbox limited edition collection and it worked really well.  All you have to do is wet it and then rub it over your face and it will remove makeup.  I kind of like the green here as it is easier to tell when the mitt is still dirty and needs cleaning than with my other one, which is white/off-white.

Adzuki Buffing Grains for Face – Value $14

I exfoliate my face regularly.  This keeps me from breaking out while allowing me to use facial oils.  I took the price from the information card; this must contain somewhat less than a full-size product.  This has a lot of clays in it, as well as rice powder, and the effects depend somewhat on what liquid you mix it with.  It is a bit gentle as an exfoliator (for my preferences) but I thought it made a very nice mask (mixed with plain water) for soaking up oil without drying my skin.

Squeaky Clean Perfume Oil – Value $12

You will get a perfume oil in most Orglamix boxes.  This one is a little fruitier and more clean than I typically wear in a fragrance but it is excellent for a spring box and I definitely appreciate getting a substantial amount to try as opposed to a tiny sample vial.

Verdict: I calculated a value of $82 for the April Orglamix subscription box.  That is a great value considering the price of the subscription.  I loved getting some skincare items and tools and also receiving some shadow colors that are outside my comfort zone.  If you are into bold colors and natural/organic products, this is a wonderful subscription to try out.  Plus, the box comes with a $10 gift card code for use in the Orglamix shop, which makes this an even better deal (although free shipping in their shop starts at $50).

This is my second month of getting this box. I love the unique products and that they are much healthier then traditional makeup. My favorite from April box was the Diamond Strobbing powder. I really like how I can use any of the products wet or dry for different levels of intensity. The strobbing powder, goes from an everyday strobe highlight to a dramatic evening strobe highlight. I can’t wait for next month.

I got the April and May ones on the same day. May had an exceptional value (review coming soon). The products are plenty intense for me dry — like the eyeshadow formula a lot. Seems easier for me to work with than many loose powder products.

I loved this company. I recently tried the roll on perfume, and the fragrance is amazing. I also appreciate that the products are vegan and cruelty-free. Can’t wait to try this box!
