The packaging on this box is really top notch - I love the wood-look box! Their website has other month's box contents, and it looks like the value is recently consistently over $70.00. If you're curious about the contents of previous month's boxes, I would recommend taking a peek at the slider on the bottom of their website.
One thing to note, and I'm assuming it is because I received a review box, is that I didn't get the monthly edition of GQ that is usually included. So that is an additional value that you won't see in my review.
The Gentleman's Box includes a small glossy pamphlet with all of the items you receive in the box detailed, as well as a profile of a featured member. This month the theme is "Our Favorite Soul King."
Salt + Dapper Bow Tie - $35.00
This is a 100% cotton bowtie. The back of the packaging gives instructions on how to tie it: "Step 1: Google 'how to tie a bowtie.'; Step 2: Done!" Pretty funny! I've linked to the most similar bowtie I could find on the Salt + Dapper site, but the version I received is much more appropriate for spring and summer. It would look sharp with a navy suit!
Crosby & Co. Sterling Silver Cufflinks - $30.00
This is another item I could not find online, so I am using the value that the information booklet gave. These are really nice, sterling silver cufflinks with a 'modern grid design.' These are pretty large cufflinks - about the size of a nickel.
Ray Charles Innovations - Easy Shoe Shine Polish - $5.99
This is a handy travel size shoe shine polish. I received the black color, which is perfect. The applicator on this one is a bit smaller than the one I usually purchase. The sponge part is also less thick, so it's a bit tougher to shine the shoe without scuffing it at the same time. I had to dab and lightly swipe instead of just going at it with the sponge. I think this would work in a pinch, but I probably wouldn't repurchase. The bottom twist up device kept popping off too, so be careful with that.
This pomade smells amazing. Very citrusy and manly! The size that I received is about the diameter of a quarter. It didn't get super hard or stay very sticky when we tried it out. My husband liked it, but $21 for pomade is a bit too steep for our budget when he goes through about a tub every other week.
Dapper Ganger Argyle Socks - $12.00
These came in a fun package! It doesn't take much to amuse me, and sealed packages on socks seems to do it. These seem like high quality socks. They're very soft and the inside of the sock is smooth, which I always give bonus points for!
Verdict: This Gentleman's Box has a value of about $83.00. I don't know how they consistently deliver such a great value for a low price! They also do a pretty good job at switching up the items in the box, so they'll work for a wide range of men. I was a bit disappointed in the shoe polish this month, but it really will make a good travel polish if you're careful!
