  1. I’m also excited to read that a lot more women are giving this box a chance, even if you aren’t a WOC, because this subscription can fit anyone. I can’t wait to read the next review and see the comments. πŸ™‚

    • Me too! I’ve considered it several times even though I’m of Irish descent and definitely not a WOC. I like a lot of the hair products they’ve had. Considering that getting self tanners in boxes is one of my pet peeves, I probably wouldn’t experience that with this box. I am thinking of giving up the Sephora box (not as exciting as I thought it’d be) and go for Essence instead. I’ll admit that a bit of it is about the box, too…the graphics are just beautiful!

  2. I had a three month subscription when the Essence beauty box first came out, and I was always impressed each box. I was going to sign up again previously, but I’m glad I didn’t, because now I get 7 boxes for $60! I really liked the review for the May box, so I am glad I will be getting it, though they said it would take 4-8 weeks, so it looks like those of us who signed up for this sale will get it after the June box, but I am not upset with it at all.

However, I think I will hold off on any more subscriptions after this. I already have Ipsy, Sephora and now Essence again. I’m tempted to try FabFitFun, but $50 is pretty steep, so I will just wait and see what they offer during black Friday. But no more beauty boxes for the moment!

  3. Ughhhhhh!!!! I just signed up for the 6 month sub a few weeks ago but won’t get the free box.

    • That does suck, but at least you got 20% off your subscription?

  4. What a great deal, I’ve been wanting to try this box. But I reeeaaallly don’t need anymore beauty boxes right now. Trying to get my stash under control first before I sign up for anymore beauty boxes.

    • I don’t “need” any more beauty boxes either. I have a stash that could rival Sephora at this point! But that doesn’t stop me from signing up to more boxes. LOL!! (Please, anyone reading this: Send help!!!)

  5. I feel like most (if not all) WOC boxes (including the hair boxes) can apply to anybody as long as you find a use for the products they offer. I may not fall into their primary intended audience, but in addition to the WOC beauty boxes, I also subscribe to the hair boxes because I have coarse & wavy hair that is typically dry & frizzy. By being introduced to a large range of products (both drugstore & high end) through the hair boxes, my wavy hair has become so manageable and virtually frizz free (I live in Seattle, so it’s inevitable I will always have frizz. πŸ™ ). I’ve been introduced to so many different products I would never have known about like co-washes, curl enhancers which add definition to my waves, and curl stretchers (I think that’s what they’re called) which make my hair look smoother & straighter. I’m so happy I signed up for the beauty & hair boxes. πŸ™‚

  6. I caved too. I have supersuper fine hair, but it is slightly wavy and prone to frizz, so I’ve discovered that many of the products for curly hair work surprisingly well for me (I just have to use a lot less of them). This is the perfect way to try out a wide variety.

  7. I caved! Been wanting to try this box for a while since the WOC on here told us it would suit lighter skin tones as well (thanks, ladies!) but what sealed the deal was getting May free. I’d been wanting to try that Paula’s Choice Vitamin C treatment, so now I can. πŸ™‚

Now I must harness my remaining little teeny speck of willpower to NOT cave on the PopSugar deal. haha!

  8. What an awesome deal, I am fair, blond hair and green eyes, and I am excited about this sub, I really want the skincare! Thanks for sharing, for $60, I will get 7 boxes total, this can’t be beat even if some of the items do not work for me.

  9. What a great deal and the box looks great for all women! I signed up for the six month deal for $60 and I got a free box so seven months of boxes! Thanks!

  10. This is a great box ladies, no matter your skin tone!

    • Thanks for letting me know. I thought maybe it was just for woman of color only. I’ll be subscribing since it works for all!
