OGX - Healing+Vitamin E Penetrating Oil - (3.3oz) - $7.99

It’s really hard for me to not love any oil.  It’s suppose to heal and protect hair from future breakage.  I don’t love this.  It’s feels like the exact opposite of it’s name.  For me, it sits on top of my hair and doesn’t absorb very well.  I just don’t like the way it leaves a film.  I’m trying to use it though.  I haven’t tried this on the kiddos yet.  I think I will give it a shot later this week.

TreLuxe - Curl Supreme Styling Creme - (1oz) - $2.75

This styling creme is very lightweight and has a whipped-like texture.  I love the way it smells but I wouldn’t consider it as a styling creme for my thick textured hair, it’s more of a moisturizer.

Curl Keeper - Leave-In Conditioner - (1oz) - $7.50

I’ve tried this conditioner in the past and it’s not my favorite, it says its smoothes frizz and flyaways.  I’m planning on passing this to a friend.

NCLA - Petite Instant Nail Fashion - Nail Wraps in Tropicala and Check Me Down (2sets) - $18.00 total

I’ve always wanted to try NCLA nail wraps.  They collaborate with so many different people and they have fun designs.  Directions on the back are fairly simple and compare well with those of Scratch nail wraps.

Hikari - Cream Pigment in Glam and Cosmic - Full Size (4g ea) - $26.00 total

Hikari just isn’t my favorite brand.  I’m sorry.  Though they photograph very well, I had to build up the swatch you see below so you could see the colors on my darker skin tone.  I also didn’t find them as creamy as I thought a cream eyeshadow to be.  But Hikari eyeshadows have great reviews everywhere, so please keep that in mind.  These are just one girl’s opinion.

Verdict: Onyx Box for April had an estimated retail value of over $62.00!  It was great buy for nail and eyeshadow lovers this month.  I also believe this is the first time we are seeing the TreLuxe brand in any hair subscription service.  I also think the CurlKeeper brand is overpriced.  I couldn’t see myself paying that much for a conditioner knowing how heavy handed I am with hair products.

Celicia,

Just use water…mix with them, make a little paste ( I do it on the back oh my hand) (no experience with this brand, but you can do this with ANY shadow, but I use water with all my Mac pigments..just wet the brush, dip in the pigment, then get your brush wet again..and mix it around applies super easy, no shadow fallout…and makes colors WAY MORE INTENSE!

I love my Onyx box and the Hikari shadows are highly pigmanted and pretty. I love the Ogx oil and I agree about the the Curl Keepers, it’s a nice product but a bit out my range to pay for hair products.
