This month's theme was snacks you can eat at the park!

SS4

Zapp's Potato Chips - Spicy Cajun Crawtators - $3.00

These taste a bit like BBQ chips to me.  I don't really get a Cajun vibe from them, until the aftertaste.  The 'craw' part of this made me think they would be craw-fish, which made me a bit squeamish, but they were good!

Salt and Vinegar PopChips - $2.35

These are delicious - I've actually purchased these in the past for myself!  I love salt and vinegar chips, and I love PopChips - so these are a win for me!

SS5

Richy Egg Butter Waffles - $0.50?

These were really good!  They were just crisp waffles that taste slightly of coconut.  I really enjoyed these, and think these would be the perfect thing to take the edge off a sweet tooth with some hot tea!

Tasty Brand Organic Star Cookies - Chocolate Chip - $0.99

These were really good.  These are crisp cookies - no soft chocolate chip cookies here.  They were very flavorful and I think these would be perfect for throwing in a lunchbox as a snack!

77 Green Tea Wafer - White Chocolate - $0.50?

This was pretty tasteless to me.  I'm not trying to be mean, but it kind of tasted like I was eating yogurt covered sawdust.  Maybe I just got a bad one?

SS6

Buzz Strong's Bakery Chocolate Cake Cookie - $0.60

This was pretty good.  It's a chocolate cake cookie with white chocolate frosting chunks baked inside.  I enjoyed this one!

Pepitoria De Cacahuate Peanut Butter Candy Bar - $0.50?

I actually found a warning from the FDA regarding Aflatoxin in this specific type of candy bar from Mexico.  I'm going to stay on the safe side, and just not eat this one.  I'm sure it's fine, but I'd rather operate under an abundance of caution since I've had so many health issues lately!

Verdict:  This Something Snacks box has a value of about $8.44.  Even if you sign up for a longer subscription, you're paying about $12.00 to the US...I think it would be nice for the value on this box to come up a bit.  It's a fun box to get, since there's generally a nice mix of sweet and savory, but having a consistently low value will not set well with subscribers after a while.  Hopefully they can figure something out!  I was also a bit disappointed in a few of the snacks this month (the green tea wafer, and the Pepitoria De Cacahuate), so maybe I'm just being too harsh about the value...

Have you signed up for Something Snacks yet?  Do you think I'm being too harsh about the value?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

I wouldn’t eat it either. I’d send the finding to something snacks and see how they respond. If they are passive then I wouldn’t trust anything sent. Good catch, I also Google snacks or ingredients on the subscription boxes too. I know some boxes sent from over seas either leave certain food items out and or they know something will get taken out when shipping here. I don’t see that there was any resolve with the FDA on Pepitoria De Cacahuate.

I get this box every month. Have for a year now. I love it. Despite the value I always get new and different snacks. It’s not the same junk in the other boxes and I’ve never had a repeat from them!
