Pop In A Box is a UK subscription box that sends you Funko POPs every month! They've started to ship to the US earlier this year, and I finally caved and gave it a shot! You can sign up to receive 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, or 12 POPs each month. This is a review of a 6-POP delivery.

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Pop In A Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon April 2016 - all pops

The Subscription Box: Pop In A Box

The Price: $9.99 + Shipping (My shipping was about $5)

The Products: Pop In A Box allows you to grow your POP! collection every month with a guaranteed mystery Funko POP! Vinyl that's not in your collection.

Ships to: US, UK, and Canada

This box ships very quickly, so they must have distribution in the US now. About 2-3 days after I was charged, the box was at the door.

I went back to a 6-POP box, it still provides good value and it reasonable for the budget.

Here's a quick run-down of creating your PIAB account:

The first thing you'll want to do is set up your collection. This is an important step to ensure that you don't receive a duplicate POP or a POP that you may not care about.

individual POP

You can cycle through POPs and selection options for each one. Mark 'I HAVE THIS' for POPs you have and avoid duplicates. Give POPs a thumbs down to let PIAB know that you don't want it, and mark it as thumbs up to let them know that you're really interested in that specific POP.

PIAB collection

There are a TON of POPs to go through. I haven't even gone through all of them, but in the end, you'll have built your own collection! This will help you keep track of what you have, and it will help PIAB know what to send.

Here is my first set of POPs. I pulled:

Zack Morris

Peeta Mellark

Red from Orange is the New Black

President Snow

One thing I'll mention is that their system works. I have never received a duplicate POP that I hadn't gone in and marked as 'Have It'. One thing I'm not sure of is if they keep track of what has already been sent, but I always manually update my list with POPs from my monthly box to avoid any surprises.

My last two were:

White Goodman

Crazy 88

These were probably my two favorite this month, although, none of the POPs I got this month would have been on my 'must have' list.

A couple of times, people have mentioned that they want to see my statue collection, so I figured now is as good a time as any (especially since I've finally got my office a bit sorted out!).

You'll have to ignore the child's mural on the wall from the previous owner, we kind of just moved right in.

And, YES - that's a mini Negan replica Lucille in my hand!

More shelves are going up soon for POPs, so next review I'll get an updated picture of the POP collection up!

Verdict: I'm really enjoying POP in a Box as a POP collector. It's an easy way to bulk up my collection at a good discount, especially if you spring for the 12 POP shipment. Also, I'm not sure how long the 50% off deal will be around for, but that's an even better way to get amazing value with you first shipment and kick start your POP collection!

Is the 50% off over?

After debating and going over it, it’s not worth it. I could see $20 for 2 pops being worth it (maybe)but once you figure in shipping (about $5) it becomes about $25 for 2 pops and most of the ones I am interesting in are maybe $9 each. I could buy a third for the difference.

Using the 50% off, you paid about $32 ($27 + Shipping). For a one time fee, I can see it would be worth it. If you continued at the regular price, which would be about $59/month ($54 + about $5 shipping) then it’s not worth it at all, in my opinion. All the POPs you received I could find on Amazon or Walmart and totaled about $48 and some change. I suppose for some people the extra $11 could be worth the ‘surprise’ factor and convenience but it’s not worth it to me.

I was going to go ahead and subscribe just to take advantage of the 50% off but I’ve had nothing but issues with the site all day. Neither my husband’s card nor mine would work so meh.

This subscription was great, until a box went missing. They first told me that the box wasn’t sent with tracking. Then I was told that the tracking says it was delivered 2 weeks prior. And they basically told me there was nothing they would do to rectify the situation, and that I should “go ask your neighbors to see if they took in your box” WEEKS AGO.
I work from home, and FedEx never showed up. I have gone from being pleased to being very disappointed.

I am hooked on this! I had to cut back from 3 to 1, but since I’m getting POPs in my Smugglers Bounty box it’s good 🙂 I lucked out on my first box, got an oversized Smaug!!

Sweet setup!

So AWESOME Eric!!! It’s always difficult to display so many different size and categories of figures. Wives and dogs can also cause problems too! 😉 I think you did a great job.

It says $9.99 plus $5 s&h, that can’t be the price for all 12 of those POP figures. Can you explain the pricing better and how the 1,2,3,6,8 & 12 boxes are priced? Thx

Eric

$9.99 is the price for the cheapest options. All the prices can be seen here: https://popinabox.us/funko-pop-subscription.list
