Pop In A Box is a UK subscription box that sends you Funko POPs every month! They've started to ship to the US earlier this year, and I finally caved and gave it a shot! You can sign up to receive 1, 2, 3, 6, 8, or 12 POPs each month. This is a review of a 6-POP delivery.
My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Subscription Box: Pop In A Box
The Price: $9.99 + Shipping (My shipping was about $5)
The Products: Pop In A Box allows you to grow your POP! collection every month with a guaranteed mystery Funko POP! Vinyl that's not in your collection.
Ships to: US, UK, and Canada
This box ships very quickly, so they must have distribution in the US now. About 2-3 days after I was charged, the box was at the door.
I went back to a 6-POP box, it still provides good value and it reasonable for the budget.
Here's a quick run-down of creating your PIAB account:
The first thing you'll want to do is set up your collection. This is an important step to ensure that you don't receive a duplicate POP or a POP that you may not care about.
You can cycle through POPs and selection options for each one. Mark 'I HAVE THIS' for POPs you have and avoid duplicates. Give POPs a thumbs down to let PIAB know that you don't want it, and mark it as thumbs up to let them know that you're really interested in that specific POP.
There are a TON of POPs to go through. I haven't even gone through all of them, but in the end, you'll have built your own collection! This will help you keep track of what you have, and it will help PIAB know what to send.
Here is my first set of POPs. I pulled:
Zack Morris
Peeta Mellark
Red from Orange is the New Black
President Snow
One thing I'll mention is that their system works. I have never received a duplicate POP that I hadn't gone in and marked as 'Have It'. One thing I'm not sure of is if they keep track of what has already been sent, but I always manually update my list with POPs from my monthly box to avoid any surprises.
My last two were:
White Goodman
Crazy 88
These were probably my two favorite this month, although, none of the POPs I got this month would have been on my 'must have' list.
A couple of times, people have mentioned that they want to see my statue collection, so I figured now is as good a time as any (especially since I've finally got my office a bit sorted out!).
You'll have to ignore the child's mural on the wall from the previous owner, we kind of just moved right in.
And, YES - that's a mini Negan replica Lucille in my hand!
More shelves are going up soon for POPs, so next review I'll get an updated picture of the POP collection up!
Verdict: I'm really enjoying POP in a Box as a POP collector. It's an easy way to bulk up my collection at a good discount, especially if you spring for the 12 POP shipment. Also, I'm not sure how long the 50% off deal will be around for, but that's an even better way to get amazing value with you first shipment and kick start your POP collection!
What do you think of POP in a Box? How many POPs are in your collection?
