gearxs-apr-info

This is the only information or paper of any kind that was in the box. The mystery deepens!

gearxs-apr-rack

Home Basics Magnetic Spice Rack - Value $13.99

Wow, I totally wanted one of these! Cool!

gearxs-apr-socket

iit Swivel-Mount Socket - Value $14.69

It's hard to get too excited about electrical sockets, but this is one of those things I'll be really glad we have some day. Note that the value and link are for a very similar product - I couldn't find this one online anywhere!

gearxs-apr-brushes

Colgate MaxFresh Toothbrush - Value $1.87 each

This is another item that's hard to get excited about, but I guess we always need new toothbrushes.

Wireless Gear Stylus & Pen in 1 - Value $5

The link goes to where you can buy it online at full retail value ($7.99), but I'm using the price on the Big Lots Sticker. The best thing about this item is that the front of the package says, "Lightweight let's you write or draw longer". Because regular pens totally wear me out!

gearxs-apr-bowls

Home Solutions 5 Piece Stainless Steel Bowl Set - Value $9.94

I was, however, excited to see this in the box! We are constantly losing lids in my house, so we can never seem to have enough food storage. I also love that the bowls are stainless steel, both for durability and health reasons.

gearxs-apr-top-lights

The Can Top 2 Pack - Value $3?

I feel like we have little use for these, but I guess I'll put them in the car for when the boys have canned drinks they don't finish. Maybe we can seal and save them this way?

LED Decorative Tealight 2 Pack - Value $1

If you read my kid box reviews, you may know that the kids and I craft something that uses one of these little lights all the time, so these will totally come in handy when we lose one!

gearxs-apr-knife-tea

Swiss Pocket Knife - Value $3.99

My husband loves these things, so he was happy to receive this! It feels heavy and looks like it can do pretty much anything!

Silicone Tea Infuser - Value $3.99

I actually do need another tea infuser, so this was great to find in this box.

gearxs-apr-slicer

Banana Slicer - Value $3

After an exhausting day of writing with my heavy pen, I can't fathom having to slice a banana, nature's softest food. This item is cracking me up! The slicing elements are not even thin enough to slice - I think they would mush the banana and then force it back into shape. Wow. I'm just going to leave this.

Verdict: Well, it certainly wasn't a dull package, and yes, it was chock full of surprises! Even though I was only really excited about two or three items, we will probably end up using most everything (not the banana slicer). The value of the contents totals about $61, which is of course wonderful for a $25 box. I think all in all it was a fun gamble.

What did you get in your GearXS Spring Mystery Box?

A year or so ago I got a random mystery box from a different site. I don’t remember which one. It made all kinds of promises: The box could contain all these amazing things. It promised a minimum retail value, something like $80 on a $20 box. It met the retail value, but except for a few random pieces that I gave away, it is still just sitting there. It was mostly electronic attachments that don’t match any device I have.

It is good to read reviews like this to remind myself that mystery boxes are such a gamble, at least if I go for a more narrow category I know I will use it.

Funny review – I really enjoyed reading it! I have learned my lesson on these types of mystery boxes but still am curious as to what “treasures” they hold. I skip them personally but am glad I can still get a peek!

I bought this box too, and I paid a bit more to add a “mega upgrade”. It was an impulse buy, and I’m pretty optimistic, so I figured, why not. Lol. It brought my total to $49.98.

Never. Again.
Your box looks pretty great in comparison to what I got, even with the banana slicer. I received:
A webcam compatible with only Windows Vista, with one star reviews on Amazon (from years ago).
A couple smartphone camera lenses that don’t work.
Three plastic bracelets.
Three light up key covers that break when you try to put them on your keys.
An ugly vinyl wall decal.
A pair of cheap ear buds.
A belt hanger/organizer – the one thing I’m excited about 🙂 – and a value of under $5.
My expectations were low… but really?
Please learn from my mistake, everyone.

This is so random. My name is also Angie. I also upgraded to the mega box. We got almost the same exact things.

A webcam compatible with only Windows Vista, with one star reviews on Amazon (from years ago). – Same
A couple smartphone camera lenses that don’t work. – Same but just one
Three plastic bracelets. – Same
Three light up key covers that break when you try to put them on your keys. – Same but I got five
An ugly vinyl wall decal. – Same
A pair of cheap ear buds. – Same
A belt hanger/organizer – the one thing I’m excited about 🙂 – and a value of under $5. – Same

I also got a hanging closet organizer, 3 touch lights, a camo light and a hose attachment.

My value was $99.76

I will also never buy this type of box again, lol.

Haha we’re actually box twins, because I also got those things but I got tired of typing on my phone. That webcam is pitiful. Lesson learned!

You may not need a banana slicer, but I the reviews of them on Amazon are definitely entertaining to read!

Thanks for the banana slicer review! I laughed sooo hard!
Btw, this box is a joke. Full of dollar tree junk.

I love reading reviews for these kinds of boxes – mostly for the WTF factor. They’re SO random that they’re funny. 😀

This box looks interesting if you’re into random surprises, but I’ve had such bad experiences with GearXS as a company that I would never order anything from them again. I ordered a few things from them for Christmas a couple of years ago and almost all of it was defective. When I returned it after getting a RA, I had to complain to the BBB to get them to respond to my emails/calls and actually refund my money. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced.
