BOXO is a subscription box that sends freshly roasted coffee beans to your doorstep every month.
Each month Boxo travels to different cities across America to find the best roasters. Every box contains two bags of beans by two different roasters from the same city. You receive your beans within 5 days from the roaster pouring them.
I received the April box and the beans were roasted in North Carolina. This month the beans were roasted in the same state but different cities: Raleigh & Hillsborough, NC.
* Note: Make sure you have a coffee grinder available. I didn’t have one since I normally drink ground coffee from the bag, but luckily my dad had one I could borrow.
This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review post process to learn more about how we review boxes.)
My box came with two 8 oz bags of coffee, a welcome card to Boxo, a description card detailing the two coffees, and a print.

Boxo Coffee included a welcome card in the form of a postcard. The postcard is a cool change from a typical welcome card.
I love how they left a handwritten note- makes it extra personal! I also like the big Boxo stamp.
Normal Human Arabica Abstracta print: estimated value- $4?
I love this print! It is so simple yet chic. I will keep this!
I like how the back of the print tells you where it was made and by who. The print from the last box was also made by Normal Human so I'm guessing the creators of Boxo have a good relationship with the owners, and are also from Kansas City since both the print & postcard came from there. Either way I have been a fan of the prints included so far!
There was a description card sent with detailed information about each coffee. I like how the card even shows you recommended brewing methods with the pictures in the left corner.

Larry's Coffee Colombia Fondo Paez: $14.19 for 12 oz. bag
Colombia Fondo Paez is grown by the Paez, an indigenous group with full control of their ancestral land in Colombia and roasted by Larry's Coffee. This is one of the strongest coffees I have ever smelled/tasted and I am not complaining! I love a good strong coffee. I tried this coffee first because I absolutely love the colorful packaging and photo on the front of the bag. To me the packaging instantly draws you in. I like this coffee so much that half the bag is already gone. I could taste the walnut and hints of chocolate in it. According to the description card the coffee has notes of walnut, tropical fruits and cocoa aftertaste.
I love the quote included on the back of the bag-very true. Bonus: the coffee is Certified Organic by QCS.

Joe Van Gogh Nicaragua Selva Negra: $13.99 for 12 oz. bag
Nicaragua Selva Negra's origin is in Matagalpa, Nicaragua and roasted by Joe Van Gogh. I found it interesting that this coffee is produced by a family on their farm in Matagalpa- pretty cool! I really enjoyed this coffee too. It has a wonderful smell and I could taste the caramel aka delicious! According to the description card there are notes of citrus, apple and caramel.

Verdict: I enjoyed this box from BOXO! I love getting to try new coffee without the hassle or footwork required to discover new coffee brands. I estimate the total value of this box to be at $32.18 so it was only a few dollars higher in value than the purchase price. I would like to see the value increase on this sub, but I also understand that they include good quality beans and that comes with a cost. In all I was pleased with the coffee & print chosen this month. I think any coffee connoisseur would enjoy this subscription!
