The box comes with a card detailing the items included.

birchbox-beauty-in-bloom-tray

Umbra Prisma Tray - Value $15

To me, this is a perfect non-beauty item in a beauty box. I love all things gold, and the modern design plus the canvas base makes it great for makeup, jewelry, desk organization, etc.

Here it is without the Umbra packaging:

Gorgeous!

birchbox-beauty-in-bloom-mascara

Mally Beauty Eye-Amplifying Shadow Liner in Stone – FULL SIZE! Value $20

I get Mally products a lot in boxes, so I'm not always excited to see them, but they do work really great - and I love their eyeshadow sticks! This stone color is really wearable for me, too. (Swatched below)

stila HUGE™ Extreme Lash Mascara – Travel-size Value (.2 oz) Value $10.45

This mascara is one of my top favorites! (Right up there with tarte!) It provides volume, length, no clumping, and lasted the entire day without smudges, etc.

(Plus it is free of parabens, sulfates and phthalates!)

Laura Geller New York Baked Color True Blush in Catalina – FULL SIZE! Value $28

I love Laura Geller baked blushes! This has a lot of pigment, so be careful when applying! (Swatched below)

Smith & Cult The Shining Lip Lacquer – Hi-Speed Sonnet – FULL SIZE! Value $22

Smith & Cult seems to be everywhere lately! I’m a sucker for fancy packaging, and I like their formulas, so that’s fine by me! This lipgloss has a good amount of sheer color and shine, a little shimmer, and almost no stickiness. (Swatched below).

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist – 15 ml Value $5.30

This is super refreshing, and I appreciate that it is a fine mist! The rose scent is only strong for a few moments, so that works for me, too.

Darphin INTRAL Toner – 50 ml Value $5.40

This toner is designed for sensitive skin. I found it to be gentle and I like the subtle scent too - all good!

NEST Fragrances Grapefruit Votive Candle - .95 oz Value $6.50

This candle is pretty tiny! It's so cute, though! And the grapefruit scent is strong even without burning it. I probably won't burn it for a while and use it just for decor/scent!

NEST Fragrances Indigo Eau de Parfum – Travel-size (3 ml) - Value $9.40

This scent is described as having, "notes of Moroccan tea, Kashmir wood, and black cardamom are enhanced with hints of wild fig and bergamot." It remind me of some scent from my middle school/high school years I can't place - I'm betting something Gap Body!

Here is photo to better show the scale of the candle:

Davines OI / Oil Absolute Beautifying Potion - 50 ml Value $15.50

Davines is one of my favorite brand discoveries from Birchbox, and this hair oil is great! It gets rave reviews on the Birchbox site for being a hair oil that doesn't make your hair greasy. I tried it on dry hair, and it added shine without weighing my hair down at all. You can also use it on wet hair.

Lollia Relax Shea Butter Handcreme – Travel-size (1.25 oz) Value $7.80

Love the packaging on this handcreme! I found it a little odd that it is one of those tubes that you need to break the foil seal to open, but the cap didn't have a pointy end. I'm guessing there's a more elegant solution than stabbing it with my pen, but it worked!

The formula feels great - it absorbs easily, is super moisturizing, and has a floral scent. It's described as lavender and honey, but it's not the traditional lavender scent you may be used to from natural lavender products.

And here is the free mystery sample pack I got with my order:

birchbox-beauty-in-bloom-tint

Both good sized samples!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $145. I think that's great for a $64 box, especially when you combine it with a 20% off coupon or free bonus gift! I absolutely love the tray, and I think this would make a great Mother's Day gift - I may need to buy another one for my mom!

I just bought this box on sale. I saw the leaked oil through the box! It took me forever to find a way to email birchbox, but once I did, their response was so nice and they sent me a new box immediately! I’m just amazed to read these comments and see that they had a problem with the Davines Oil back in April, and didn’t fix it.

My replacement box is great though. I love the tray, and the oil is really nice (even though it only looks half full, which makes me think it leaked somewhere, I just don’t know where!).

The oil leaked out in my first box too – it came completely empty! They sent me another box and my oil was also only half full, but didn’t appear to have leaked. Odd. But I love this box!

Leah

Odd is right. I’m using the oil right away. I’m afraid to store it anywhere!

So excited! This box just went into 30% off under birchbox beauty deals so I ordered it. I think the products will be great for me even though we are transitioning to fall. So excited for that tray- it think it’s beautiful. I hope I get that silver eyeliner in my mystery sample- it is GORGEOUS!

Does anyone know the colors of the blushes you may get? I see Liz got Catalina but I was wondering what the other color could be…

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

Haha, I don’t know. I got Catalina in my first box but the Davines product spilled everywhere so they sent me a replacement box, which also had Catalina in it.

Reply ButtonReply

Bella

Oh no!! Well at least they are good about replacements haha. Would you say this package is worth it?

Tracy

Awesome review!!! I’ve been digging around the sight for a couple of weeks because I have $50 racked up on one of my accounts. Finally!!! This was perfect. After 20% discount & my points – I only paid $1.20!!!! Woo hoo!

Thanks for the awesome reviews, Liz!!!!

I just love this box ~ Birchbox hit it out of the park again for me! The Umbra tray is gorgeous and to me worth more than the $15 value, the hair oil is not heavy and does not stain my light hair, the refreshing mist is awesome and I know will be a favorite for Summer! I could go on but you get it ! Loved everything ! And I have found if you have an issue their customer service is the best . They respond promptly , and they bend over backwards to make things right ! I buy all of my beauty items from them.(not that I should be buying anything with all the sub boxes I receive)

Loved, loved, loved this box. A big ole box of stuff with a tray. Life is good!

I keep hoping that Birchbox will do a Korean skincare LE.

Emily

They did last fall.

Miranda

Do you know how to sharpen the Mally eyeliner since it won’t twist up?

Reply ButtonReply

Debbie

I really enjoyed in boxing this one. Everything is so pretty. I have the tray in my foyer as a catch all. The mascara is my new favorite.

Reply ButtonReply

JoyW

That’s a good idea for the tray.

Sue

Birchbox does seem to have excellent customer service – I love that!

Reply ButtonReply

Danielle

Hmmm – I’m kind of considering this one, but I don’t really NEED it.

How tinted is the hair oil? I have blonde hair and don’t want to stain it (some oils do).

Liz Cadman

I just used it again to test it for you – it looked completely clear in my hand. Hope that helps!

Ragan

The candle smells really good when you burn it. (That was one of the things that was not destroyed during the oil incident.)

Reply ButtonReply

sun

I lit the candle today and it really filled our home with delicious tangy fruit scent! It is really strong for such a small candle…very small even for a votive. At first I thought it was a metal holder but it’s glass!

Sara

I don’t know if you actively swap at all, Liz, but if you do, I would adore the Cynthia Rowley silver eyeliner. It is one of my favorites & I love the smaller sample size! (I know silver is not everybody’s favorite look.)

Reply ButtonReply

May

I have that eyeliner in my swap list if your interested.

Reply ButtonReply

Amy

I have this eye pencil and love it. I use it as an accent (bottom waterline and inner corner) when I wear gray eyeliner.

Reply ButtonReply

Elle

Yes Liz is the best at this! Read this review, when directly to birchbox and bought it! Did not pass go, did NOT collect $200 ; )

Lee

You are an excellent sales person. I had no interest in this box until this review. Now I am seriously considering it.

Reply ButtonReply

Em

Wow, this box is very disappointing. The Davines, Cynthia Rowley, Peripera, and Stila have all been samples in the regular $10 boxes. The full-size Mally in that exact shade showed up in one of my mystery sample packs last summer, so it must have been a sample some time ago. I get that samples can be valuable, but this isn’t what I think should go in a Limited Edition box.

Reply ButtonReply

Em

Oops, I didn’t realize that the Cynthia Rowley and Peripera were actually the sample pack!

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

My second one should be here tomorrow.

No, I did not order two. The Davines spilled everywhere inside the first box. (Hint: It’s a BAD sign when the box smells better than it should when you open it. Every time this happens to me, it means something has broken.) I sent photos and Birchbox got back to me in 3 minutes (seriously) with a replacement order.

I was able to salvage some of the items by throwing out the outer boxes, at least. But Birchbox made it good so I’m happy.

For mystery sample packs, I keep getting Cowshed lip balm and I’ve already forgotten the second item…

Reply ButtonReply

Browning

Me too! Oil all over everything. So thankful for their excellent customer service!

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

Mine leaked all over too, the cap on the oil wasn’t even on all the way. I opened the mailbox and all I could smell was perfume I couldn’t figure it out. Then saw the outer box had a wet corner and then inside the box everything was doused in oil. It just gave me a headache, to top it off the Laura Geller blush, the thing I wanted most was shattered. I emailed Birchbox immediately and already got my replacement today. Luckily the blush is intact and the oil didn’t spill out.

I picked the men’s mystery sample pack, the women’s has too many repeats. I have four of those lace headbands that are too small and countless eyeliners. The men’s one had a face tonic and a really cool soap infused sponge.

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

That’s a great idea to grab a men’s sample pack! I’ve been very happy lately with my women’s mystery packs but it would be fun to get a surprise for my boyfriend one time!

Also, I was not even considering this box but this review has actually made me want to buy it!!
