The packaging on this box is beautiful! The box itself is so sturdy and lovely that I will definitely put it to good use. There was an information sheet that was sent with this package (not pictured), listing the items within. Although it makes it a little harder to review the contents, I actually think it's really classy that they don't list the retail value of each item. I like that they let the contents speak for themselves! Note that what I was sent may be very different from what other subscribers were sent.

Squiggle Scarf by Vivienne Westwood - Value $100-ish (link is to a similar scarf)

I love this scarf so much I had a dream about it. It's 100% silk, and in my dream I washed it at some awful setting, and when I pulled it out of the dryer (gasp!), it was tattered and pilled. It's a Vivienne Westwood, y'all! I could cry tears of pure joy.

(I'm so sorry my finger is stained with paint in the second picture! See my upcoming Surprise Ride review for more details.)

Esha Slim Line Bangle and Esha Round Gemstone Bangle by Rivka Friedman - Value originally $150 each, most recently $35 each

These are no longer for sale on the Rivka Friedman site, or anywhere that I can find them for sale online. I did manage to find some out-of-stock remnants of these items online from the most recent sales, and this is about what they were going for at that time, so I believe these values to be fairly accurate. In any case, these are very pretty bangles, and they have a nice weight to them! They are elegant but not boring.

5th-ave-apr-earrings

Pave Gem Fan Back Earrings by Rebecca Minkoff - Value $58

I love these earrings! I am slowly getting on board with the three-piece earring movement, and turquoise is one of my favorite colors in jewelry. I can tell these will be getting lots of use!

5th-ave-apr-necklace

Prana Turquoise Double Pendant Necklace by House of Harlow - Value $52

I love everything from House of Harlow, and I might love this necklace most of all! I'm sorry I keep saying I love everything - I have a big heart. These pendants have a good weight to them even though they are still pretty dainty. This necklace is 100% my style, too!

5th-ave-apr-clutch-4

Element Clutch Air by Lancaster Paris - Value $88

Although this clutch is not completely my style, it is so beautiful and soft, and wonderful real leather. I really appreciate that this has a cross-body strap, too. I get so excited to get quality purses in subscription boxes!

Verdict: I'm more than a little obsessed with 5th Avenue Style! This month, three of the pieces were easily identified as currently available online at original retail prices. This is exciting to me because I feel like some of the pieces I've received in the past have been from distant seasons, and I'm glad to see some change. Regardless of the season, everything 5th Avenue Style sends me is quality and stylish! I will wear everything they sent this month, and I especially adore the necklace and the scarf. And the earrings! The value this month adds up to about $368 using sale prices (and obviously much more using original retail prices). It blows my mind that they can provide such a high value for $159!

Very unhappy with this sub. I ordered a deluxe sub on the 20th of April. According to their own FAQ page, my first box should have been shipped within 2 weeks. Left a voicemail, since they are apparently so busy, even though according to their message thingy, I was the only person waiting in line to speak to someone. Left a message with a detailed message and my number. Didn’t hear back from them. Called on the 18th of May, since my card was to be charged on the 20th. Needless to say, by this time, I’m PO’d. This time I left an angry message, and also emailed them. Amazingly, they called with the excuse that I didn’t leave my name with the first voice mail, and that my package would be mailed the next day with tracking, etc. No apology, nothing. I could have been talking with a Walmart cashier. I cancelled the next day, within hours, received a tracking number.

I was so excited about this box! I’m over it now. They should be ashamed, and unless there is a freakin’ Valentino or Chanel in my box, it’s going back.

I doubt it since you don’t even have my name or order number. I do appreciate the sentiment though.

Why so long to ship?

Why no email if there was a problem with the order?

Why did it take me getting irritated to finally get a response and to get my box shipped?

I’ll be interested in your answers.

Bish

I decided to try this box to get some new jewelry. I ordered on April 22nd, and it’s now May 14th and I have neither a box nor a shipping notice. They also haven’t answered my email from a week ago. 🙁

Just wanted to update. I emailed a second time as a reply to my order confirmation email. (First time was through the customer service email) I simply said that it had been nearly a month since I ordered and if I didn’t hear back soon I would start a charge back with my credit card company. I received a reply that night that it would go out that week and I would receive tracking the next day. I did receive my tracking as promised and my box, which was really great. Nearly everything matched my questionnaire and tastes. I even received two sets of matching items. There was also a pair of decent quality sunglasses included as a “gift”. So overall I was happy with the contents of my box. All the items were branded as promised in the deluxe box. I’m just a little upset that it took two emails to get it mailed.

I’m truly shocked that customer service is so crappy. This experience has completely turned me off and put a huge damper on my excitement to receive this box. Happy it turned out well for you though. Funny, I just received an email for The Quarterly Dress for Success Box. Needless to say, I won’t be ordering.

On a side note, I received my Luxe Pineapple boxes they had on sale for $10.00. Received them within a few days of ordering, and they were awesome. The included a hand written note saying they were happy I was ordering again. I immediately signed back up for their monthly box. 5th Avenue should take note and learn a thing or two about customer service and how to appreciate their customers.

I have NO affiliation with Luxe Pineapple. I just appreciate someone who appreciates me. Yeah!

They have not sent me my mothers day box either. I paid them over 250 for it. They do not answer email or facebook. So upset

Dear Brit,
This box has been shipped to everybody who ordered it.
We do have some cases where people missed a single item due to a delayed shipment from overseas but we notified clients about it and will be sending them a gift along with a remaining item as our apology for the inconvenience.
We do not have a single Facebook message on this subject and the ones we have from the past are all answered.
Please contact us directly with your order information although it is strange as all these orders have been taken care of…
Thank you,
5th Avenue Style Support Team

Anyone having trouble with the code? It said not eligible for items in the cart. I have the deluxe box in my cart, so not sure what I’m doing wrong. Maybe it’s a sign. lol

Ann

Never mind, I’m just an idiot.

Jennifer

Hmm, you listed that the $159 box has a minimum value of $500 but yet your box was listed at only $350ish.

Reply ButtonReply

Jennifer

Oh, I guess you marked $368 because you added $35 for the bangles instead of $150, is that the reason?

Reply ButtonReply

karen

I noticed this too, did she ever respond to you on this? I am concerned about ordering – especially the more expensive box if its not going to be the value they quote. I live internationally also so I will be paying another $30 in shipping so want to make sure its worth my while!

Mailbox Junkie

Of all the scarves I have ever seen in a sub box (and they are many) this one blows them all away!!! What a fun piece. Also total box envy over the HOH necklace!!! Whoot Whoot you got a real win!! (I think this box warrants the use of all these exclamation points)

What a gorgeous scarf! Loving the earrings and necklace too.

OMG, I’m totally going to be stalking the swap site for those Rebecca Minkoff earrings!
I’d trade my first born for them, although it’s unlikely they’ll be up for swap.

Wow! Congrats on the VW! I’ve got major scarf envy now!

I thought VW was a vegan brand, though…. Silk comes from silk worm cocoons. (And they’re usually harvested using sketchy work practices.) A lot of her accessories feature glass pearls for these reasons.

Reply ButtonReply

...

I have a leather wallet from VW, definitely not vegan.

chris

Your question intrigued me…

Vivienne Westwood definitely does silk scarves:
http://www.viviennewestwood.com/shop/womens/accessories/scarves

But she has also won at least one PETA Vegan Fashion Award, http://www.vogue.co.uk/news/2015/11/17/peta-vegan-award-winners-vivienne-westwood-zara-asos, so I think it is likely she has at least some vegan items in her collections even though everything doesn’t appear to be vegan.

That necklace is gorge! I love the little etch detailing

So much jewelry is the only thing holding me back. That jewelry just isn’t my style and I would be disappointed to receive that many pieces. Love the scarf and the bag. Decisions, decisions. Do they curate the box to your style and can you tell them no jewelry?

Reply ButtonReply

Anna

Hi Ann! They do customize based on your preferences. You take a style quiz, and you can tell them what you would and would not like in your box. I don’t know about no jewelry whatsoever, but you could select yes to bags, sunglasses, scarves, etc., and say no to whatever jewelry you definitely don’t want. I hope that helps!

Ann

Thanks, Anna! I’ll check it out then and see what the profile says. Ugh, I’ve already spent a small fortune this morning. Oh well, in for a penny, in for a pound! hahaha
