First of all, I think this is the most luxe packaging I have ever seen on a subscription box! Even the card inserts are made of some kind of fancy textured cardstock.

Second, this is Mostess' "VIP Box," which is their first mailing. The price for this box was $120, and there are still some available. It is not yet possible to subscribe to Mostess, they are still collecting people on their mailing list. I'm not sure if $120 will be their regular price in the future, and I don't know if they ship outside the US, or what those costs might look like if they do. As I said, this is the first box from a brand new service, and I'm sure all will be revealed in the weeks to come.

The inside of the welcome card has information on the items included in this mailing.

This additional card was included, with tips on how to be an exceptional hostess. I think my hostess game seriously just leved up upon learning the word "tablescape"!

On the back of the card are recipes for two cocktails, one with and one without alcohol. Both use some of the items included in the package. That's so handy!

Thank You Cards by Sugar Paper - Value $28

These are letterpress notecards with lined envelopes, and are a really special way to say thank you! They are really elegant.

Cocktail Napkins by K Style Design - Value $32

I've never had any kind of cloth cocktail napkins, much less 100% organic European linen cocktail napkins! The black contrast rolled hems make them look really sharp!

Bourbon Cocktail Cherries by Jack Rudy - Value $16

Aromatic Bitters by Jack Rudy - Value $12

This is so funny, but I received both of these items in a different subscription box about a week ago! Which is fine, actually, because both of these items are welcome additions to our home bar. My husband absolutely loves these cocktail cherries!

Dore' Nesting Hexagon Bowls by Rosanna - Value $36

Wow, these bowls are beautiful! They are just perfect for serving finger foods. I love the gold and white colors together!

Dore' Hexagon Platter - Value $30

This serving tray is the perfect compliment to the nesting bowls, and will look amazing with drinks on it. I also think the hexagon motif makes these pieces look really chic and modern. I love it!

Verdict: I think the inaugural VIP Box from Mostess is a huge success! I love everything they sent, and I think with just a few additional items, I could whip up a very classy cocktail hour in my home with 2-3 friends. The value of the items comes to $164, so the price is well worth it. If you love throwing memorable and lovely gatherings, I think Mostess is going to be an amazing subscription for you to check out!

Well I went to purchase this and the 30% discount popped up but for some reason I had to purchase it as a gift for $5 extra add on. I didn’t mind really because it was still a big discount but today Lindsey from Mostess reached out and asked me if I did in fact want a gift box as I had not left a message. I explained the situation and she refunded the five dollars and said that this was a glitch they never intended and they would fix it. She was super nice and very quick to respond! I really like good customer service so I thought o would mention it.

I just got my VIP box, and it was such a treat to have it show up. The packaging is really nice — tons of ribbon and tissue paper/bubble wrap to keep everything safe. The box is really heavy, so I was really glad shipping is included!

My husband dug into the cherries and bitters first thing. The bowls are doing double duty as snack bowls and my table centerpiece. I really liked everything in this box and can’t wait to get the Spring box!

Who spends $28 on thank you cards!? Looks like you’d be better off taking that $120 to Home Outfitters yourself.

I love the idea of this box. I would like the RV of the items to be at least double the price of the box tho. That’s my one rule before I subscribe to a box. So either they need to decrease the price or have more items. I will keep watching for reviews because I would love this!!!!

I’m intrigued by this box but the price tag seems a little steep for items that look like I might have found at Homegoods. Don’t get me wrong, I would feel like I totally scored if I walked out of Homegoods with all of this, but I’m also betting I would have paid less than $120 for it there. But maybe I’m over-boxed and my expectations with regard to value are too high. I’m curious what everyone else thinks.

$28 for thank you cards, letterpress or not, is a bit much. I’m with you on the price point and home goods value comparison. For $120 I expect to see some recognizable, higher end brands, or at least more products. Linen napkins are probably the least practical table item I’ve seen in a while (coming from one who loathes ironing linen anything). Linen blends are not unusual as table linens but are also not as labor intensive to maintain. Discovery is nice in terms of box curation value but not enough to get me to pay $120 for what i could source locally for half price or less.

I really love the idea of this subscription box! $120 is a little steep for me right now but I’m so glad I read this review because THOSE NESTING BOWLS!!! I think I will have to spend the $36 to get those :). I also think about some great items this sub will include in the future! I’ve always wanted conversation cards (judge me). And they would probably have really great seasonal/holiday items for the appropriate months!! I’ll have to get this one on my wish list!
