Mac & Mia is sort of like Stitch Fix for kids – when your items ship you are charged a $20 styling fee, and that’s waived with/goes towards a purchase of 2 or more items.
This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Each box comes with an info card detailing the discover + return process, and it lists each item in the box and the cost to keep it.
Here’s my list of the items they picked for my baby. The total for all 8 items they sent is $224.80, including my $20 styling fee and a 15% discount for keeping everything. They also have you write in reason codes for any you return.
Splendid Always Active Pant – Cost to Keep: $32
I love these kinds of pants for my son! Navy goes with everything he wears and they’re really soft.
Miki Miette Eddie Joggers – Cost to Keep: $36
These joggers are too cute. They’re a really light and airy material, too.
Go Gently Baby Square Print Crewneck – Cost to Keep: $48
I love this crewneck. It’s a nice and thick material – definitely high quality. It’s pricey for a kid’s piece, for sure, but I can understand the price a little better seeing how nice it is in person.
Splendid Indigo Raglan Tee – Cost to Keep: $28
This shirt is cute and versatile – I can see pairing this with any color shorts in the summer!
Miki Miette James Knit Tee – Cost to Keep: $36
This tee matches the little jogger shorts earlier. I love the colors and the super soft material.
JoJo Maman Bebe Red Polo Shirt – Cost to Keep: $20
A red polo is a great piece for summer and pairs well with cute patterned pants or shorts. It’s a really nice material, too.
Hatley Lobster Pocket Shorts – Cost to Keep: $36
These shorts are so cute! I’d pair it with the red polo above and some cute baby sandals.
Mayoral Navy Windbreaker – Cost to Keep: $52
This is a great jacket. It’s not too heavy so it’ll be good for layering in the fall or even just cooler/rainy days year round. It’s great quality, too.
Verdict: I think Mac & Mia is a very interesting service. I really enjoyed checking out my first box that they picked for my son. The prices are a little high for what I normally like to pay, but I know these are quality pieces. I also noticed that the prices to keep the items from the box were generally a little cheaper than on the sites I found them on. For someone looking for designer/name brand items for their babies or kids, I think this would be a fun service.

I’ve sent a gift certificate to my grandson for his first birthday. For such an occasion, price isn’t an issue–style is. And it seemed to me that the clothes looked special–can’t argue with Gap for going to daycare–you can launder their clothes for months and they’ll hold up. But every first birthday deserves a little sophistication!
I have tried other competitive online subscription Kid (boys)clothing subscriptions and this one is my least favorite so far. I feel even though my son is older and grows slower, the prices ARE way too high. 3 of my pieces were $40+, 1 accessory(beanie)was $20 and a PR of Jeans $55. My box with $20 stylist fee and discount of 15%was going to be $208.00! I like that you can request a box and its not auto sent but idk if I’ll choose to ever have one requested again. My stylist has only girls and did pretty good picking out boy selections but the price is what made me keep placing them into the return bag. It trumped quality, comfort, and all else.
Thanks but I recommend Kidbox over Mac & Mia at this time.
Kidbox seems to have similar brands, but it’s a flat fee o $98 to keep a box, no styling fee, and it’s at least a 10% discount when keeping individual items as well. So Kidbox gets my vote, too. I was looking over Mac and Mia today and comments by people who have gotten boxes, it seems the average price for a box is closer to $400! Kidbox is easy to turn off auto-send as well, and I like their customer service so far.
Adorable clothes, way too expensive when they change sizes so quickly. For my granddaughter and baby nephew i shop sales and clearance only.
I thought it was a cute idea until I saw the prices. No way. Two words: Baby Gap. Cute stuff and like 1/4 the price on sale…and you can always get them on sale. I can see quality being more important if you plan to have lots of kids, but under 2 years old they grow too quickly to pay this much for me.
I think you will need more closets soon. I agree that most are expensive for little kids but they certainly are cute. Once they are in the house it is probably hard to return them.
