I am really curious to see how this first box turns out. I subbed to RZ and thought I’d love it but it’s not really for me. Maybe I’ll switch to this for summer….

I won one of these boxes through an instagram contest, so I’m extremely excited about this box! Hopefully it will be awesome.

Totally agree with the general consensus. I want at least double in value on a quarterly box at $100 a pop, since these biz’s either buy at discount, outdated merch, slight irregulars, stuff they’ll never sell, etc. I wouldn’t risk an annual sub on a new biz, even with a coupon. If they offer spoilers and a decent coupon on the monthly, maybe I’d break down. But, I choose my own jewelry since it’s a very personal decision, and when I hear home decor I think another candle or fragrance item, or worse those ’embrace your perfect life’ books i.e. how to declutter your home and find Zen. I despise fragrance and candles, and those books. I’m way opinionated today!

However, there’s a million little treasures in the world besides the same old, that take time and effort to curate, such as hand made, ‘quality’ specialty pieces. To me, the video seemed sub par and generalized, simply stating they mean to fill a market gap, but jewelry and beauty certainly won’t do it. I’m concerned this will be like the Oui Please box, with little variation and no real theme. A Night Out is so very general anything could be in the box.

When I first heard happy rebel, I was excited and thought of clothing and ideas such as Revolve, Lauren Moshi, Planet Blue – Blue Life, and Gypsy 05. Organic, modal, silk, linen, and hemp, made in the USA, limited edition. To create a box that encompasses ageless, timeless items women from 25+ would covet.

‘The inspirational’ jewelry pix, (which, honestly I actually liked the classic bracelets but wouldn’t receive as a member?) are not edgy, or rebellious, i.e. not the status quo; everything looked pretty classic to me. I honestly don’t attempt to be hurtful, rather offer food for thought.

I’m praying it’s urban edgy. I live in New York City. And don’t want frumpy. or Goth.

This is one of those boxes that seems perfect for me, but I’m hesitant to jump in without at least one spoiler of a mid-range item in the box. Especially if it’s got jewelry and makeup included (I have so much makeup from edgier brands, as I’m a Sephora Rouge member, I don’t mind having doubles or one to gift for makeup…but it’s definitely a concern for the theme. I can see myself going for it for sure after a review or two, or when a home, travel, or tech type box comes up. (Not enough tech stuff for women in boxes IMO, we only ever get ear buds and I have enough lower end ear buds to last a lifetime now and can’t wear them due to tragus piercings). This is one of those boxes I would likely kill to receive to review for blog and IG, but I can’t justify spending $100 on a new sub with only pics of things they feel represent their style but that we aren’t getting.

@HappyRebelBox

@ Cat! Love your suggestions! Definitely taking notes here…
Also, I wanted to mention the beauty items included in the box would not fall under the standard “makeup” category IMO. Stay tuned for reviews coming to MSA after the box ships, as there may be a few left to grab if you like what you see 😉

Marion

Weirdest ever branding. Nothing about this box seems particularly “edgy” or “rebellious” to me.

Reply ButtonReply

nelliebelle1197

Yeah, me either. And I am certainly not going to invest $100 in a box that “spoils” the “theme”. Telling the theme of the box with nothing IN the box pictured is not the best idea when marketing a brand new box. PSMH & GlobeIn can do it because they have a track record, and GlobeIn has an obvious mission – you know you are getting fair trade, artisan goods often made of sustainable or recycled materials.

This? I have no idea, and as a former docs and plaid skirt wearing punk girl, I am NOT getting edgy at all!

Am I the only idiot who doesn’t see where the name or skull logo fits with what the spoiler pic is? I’d have thought it was any of the already known luxe type boxes from the pictures I’ve seen. Maybe I’m missing something. I love the name and what the description is but I don’t see it so far?

@HappyRebelBox

Victoria

Thanks for the reply. I do appreciate that. The colorful hair is the only thing that’s really jumping out as “rebellious” to me. :-/

Christina

Thanks for your reply. BTW I think your handling all the replys very well. I don’t have either of those, however I did go to the site and view the YouTube video, trying to pay close attention to everything the video was focusing in on. It’s a GREAT video!! I am now only hesitant because it showed so much jewelry. I can say I am doing such a back and forth in my head about jumping on right now…..but make no mistake I am very much not wanting to miss out on a great box. I will sleep on it. Have a great weekend ?

Christina

I agree. I was excited…..but then that turned to confusion.

Adina

I subbed for a year. I was really impressed with their promo video and think it will fit my personality and tastes nicely. Can’t wait to see what is in the box. I am a little wary on the value, but hopefully the curation will make up for it.

@HappyRebelBox

@Adina – I am so excited you have joined us! Be sure and send us an email after you receive your first box and let us know what you think. Feedback from our subscribers is critical for us! 😀

lisad

I don’t have pierced ears, can you not include earrings if requested?

Reply ButtonReply

@HappyRebelBox

@Lisad – Since all of our boxes are the same, we do not have a lot of flexibility subbing out items, and individual items from the box aren’t returnable. I know a lot of other subscription box companies suggest gifting items in your box that may not be a perfect fit for you. That being said, we do not have earrings in our upcoming box! And we definitely want our customers to be pleased, so if there does happen to be a way to work something out with you, we will certainly do so. If you decide to sign up, shoot us an email, and we will put a note on your account.

I hate it when subs say items in boxes will vary. To me that just means if you’re a blogger you will get better stuff. Check out the bluum reviews and regular subscriber comments.

Reply ButtonReply

.

it better not!! bloggers sometimes don’t pay. and that’s even further frustrating. think they will value their customers better than that. I don’t know that sub referenced, but doesn’t sound like a smart model.

Reply ButtonReply

@HappyRebelBox

Hi @Adeline! When we say boxes vary, we mean each quarter’s box is a new and different collection, with different types of items depending on the theme of that box. Every quarter, each box contains the same items for subscribers and bloggers alike. Bloggers receiving better/additional items wouldn’t be fair! That’s not how we roll 😉

.

whew!

Sandy

I’m looking forward to this box! The girl’s night out theme sounds fun. I was hoping for some home items, too?

Reply ButtonReply

@HappyRebelBox

@Sandy – no home items in this box’s theme, but we will certainly in the future!

Reply ButtonReply

Amalia

Wow, yeah, jewelry in a brand-new expensive box seems like a really dicey proposition. Looking forward to reading the review.

Reply ButtonReply

Ashley

I’m anxiously awaiting the first box! HR website and promotional materials are done extremely well, so I have high hopes for this box!

Reply ButtonReply

@HappyRebelBox

@Ashley – thanks so much for joining us! Be sure to drop us an email when you get your first box and let us know what you think!

_uff_da

$100 is risky for a new box. $150 worth of products could be greatly over inflated values, but I’m looking forward to this review!

me

My concern that keeps me from subbing is from what I’ve seen so far, is it seems “dated.” I just can’t justify dropping a hundred bucks on stuff that might even remotely seem jersey shore/try hard clubby, circa 2008-2012, that can be easily found at discount stores. I imagine they’ll be trying to bring back that early 2000’s “bling” everything, cheap pseudo luxe trend, from what I’ve seen. I prefer a current, legitimate fashion forward, relevant curation, ie Zoe. But thats just me.

Reply ButtonReply

@HappyRebelBox

@Me – I can tell you “Jersey Shore” is definitely not the look we are going for…. but we will let you be the judge when the reviews come out! 😀

@HappyRebelBox

Hey ladies! Stay tuned for a Happy Rebel Box review coming to MSA in a few weeks ?

I’ve had some bad luck with new boxes, boxes sound great yet when I get them them they are not as described or as expected. Without a great spoiler for something I know I will use there is no way I’ll purchase this box even at 1/2 price with the code. I’m not fond of jewelry in boxes unless I know they are not plastic and are 100% nickle free, + I like jewelry to have a signature tag. A bit picky, yet I’ve gotten to many undesirable pieces in boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

@HappyRebelBox

@lily – I totally understand your hesitation! But I will tell you our jewelry pieces in our spring box are 100% nickel free AND stamped/branded. Just wanted to let you know 🙂

I never jump on newly minted subs….I won’t mention the names of the fails, but I will watch for reviews and make a decision once they’ve established and proven themselves.

Reply ButtonReply

misanthropic789

I am cautiously optimistic. I subscribed but that value seems pretty low compared to other luxe boxes, so if I don’t love what they send it will be a one-and-done thing.

Reply ButtonReply

@HappyRebelBox

@Misanthropic – thanks so much for joining us! Be sure to drop us an email and let us know what you think when you receive your first box. If our subscribers don’t like what they receive, we aren’t doing our job!

Jennifer

I would have to see a spoiler first and then the value really is not there if it is only over 150.00, that could go either way (low or high end). I will keep my eye out for a review and go from there.

Reply ButtonReply

Sara

I’d have to have a spoiler before ever dropping $100 on a box. Girls Night Out could be a variety of things.
