Bulu Box Subscription Review + 50% Off Coupon – Feb 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

Bulu Box is a monthly fitness and weight loss subscription box. Their original Bulu Box is focused more on fitness and supplements, and they also have a WeightLoss box that features healthy products and diet supplements. This review is of the original Bulu Box.

Bulu Box sent me this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Bulu Box has a great rewards program. You get a dollar in Bulu Bucks for every sample you review, and since the box is only $5 with coupon, it’s a great deal if you would buy full-size items on their site.

The Subscription Box: Bulu Box

The Cost: $10 (Less than $5 a box with the annual subscription and coupon code!)

Limited Time Deal: Use coupon code MYSUB99 to get your first box for only $.99, then every following box for only $5, for the lifetime of your subscription!

COUPON: $5 off forever! For the lifetime of your subscription, every box will be $5 off. with coupon code MYSUB5

The Products: Each box contains 4 to 5 premium weight loss items such as vitamin and supplement samples, fitness gear and healthy eating tools.

Check out my Bulu Box reviews and the Fitness Subscription Box Directory!

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included.

Foodtopia Chlorella – 15 tablets Value $.70

I read a lot of reviews about the benefits of Chlorella and increased energy (which I always need), so I’m hoping to see results from this sample!

Montana Mex Seasoning in Chile Salt – Sample

This salt is available in three flavors: Chile, Sweet and Picante. It is made with natural and organic ingredients and it tastes good! (I’m not very adventurous when it comes to cooking, so a spicy salt alternative is an easy change for me!)

Yum-V’s Multivitamin Jellies for Children (Bonus Sample) – Value $1.70

I love vitamin gummies, and these are probably the best ones I’ve ever tried. (In this case, “best” means tastes just as good as non-vitamin gummies!) These are gluten-free, suitable for vegetarians, and they are designed to not stick to your teeth.

Green Med AllerRite – 3 Capsules Value $1

These capsules are designed to provide an all-natural relief to allergies.

Vital 4U Fiber Drink – Value $2

This is a prebiotic soluble fiber drink – they are sold in individual drink pouches for single servings.

Artic Ease Instant Cold Wrap – Bonus Sample

My husband Eric had some shoulder pain so this came in handy! He said he could feel the cooling immediately, but this was a pretty tiny sample, so we couldn’t wrap it around to get the full effects!

Lane Labs H2Go – 6 Tablets Value $1.50

Verdict: This box has a value of about $8. That’s in the range of what I would expect for a Bulu Box. I’ve found the value is always good if you use the 50% off coupon and get this box for $5 or less, and you take advantage of their points system.

(With the 50% off coupon you can get your monthly box for $5 (or less with an annual subscription), and then you get $1 to spend in the Bulu shop for every product you review. So this box would cost you $5 and you’d get $7 back in the shop).

I would recommend this subscription if you would buy things from Bulu Box’s shop – with the Bulu Box points it basically makes the subscription a free bonus and a way to try out a few new products each month. The products aren’t always a good fit for me, but at least half of the samples are things I want to try, so it works out!

Do you subscribe to Bulu Box? What do you think of it?

  1. When I filled out the form to subscribe they asked if I was vegan and I stated that I am. Got the box and no vegan items to be found. This could have been such an awesome box.

    • I asked them once if they would make a vegetarian box and they basically told me they couldn’t. I don’t have a lot of suggestions for a vegan fitness-themed box because it seems like every one sends whey protein (which I am fine with but which would not be suitable for vegans, of course). Monarch Fitness caters to dietary restrictions but is lower on the food and supplements and includes clothing and such. It is quite a bit pricier than Bulu Box, though.

      • Don’t know why they bother asking. I tried Sweaty Box ( Yes, the most unfortunate names for a sub box.) for a month. All the stuff was vegan, but I don’t know if I just got lucky.

  2. Just signed up for this. Thank you for the promo code – MYSUB99 worked for me in 1 try. 🙂

  3. I am one of those who enjoys trying new products. For $5 per month it isn’t too much of a cash outlay to worry about and using my review money to buy full sized products has worked well. Some months are great and some, well , not so much… Wish there was consistency In sample sizes and quality? however. I’m giving it another 6 months to decide whether or not to keep this one active.

  4. I’ve had the bulu box subscription for approx six months now. In the beginning they included a nice full size product in their box,of great quality. Lately there have only been small samples in the box. My friend recently subscribed and said that it seems like it’s not worth it.Unless they start adding better items soon I will probably cancel. She used the cold wrap and said it was aweful.

  5. Got everthing you got except the cold wrap. I didn’t see the value so I cancelled .

  6. I wish I got that cold wrap in my box. I was disappointed in their Feb boxes as there was A LOT of overlap between the original and Weightloss box.

  7. I tried to sign up, but keep getting error messages at the “submit” stage (even tried two different credit cards). So I think I’ll take that as a sign… (and hopefully won’t get charged for 3 subs!)

    • Same here. Not too happy about the errors!

    • I had the same issue and the MYSUB99 code wouldn’t work either. So I gave up.

      • However, now I’m looking at and have a lot of “pending” charges for Bulu Box, so I’ll have to keep an eye on that! I also emailed Customer Support. I’ll let you know what happens!

  8. I have gone back and forth on whether to get this. They don’t promise to only send vegetarian stuff (I emailed them to ask once) so I wouldn’t be able to use all of it. But. They have my vegan DHA + EPA omega 3 fatty acid supplement in the shop and there are other things I would probably buy there. So it might be worth it.
