This month's project is a wooden hanging calendar! How unique!

On the back of the card is a variety of ideas for different calendar designs. I like that they give suggestions on where you might take your newfound crafting skill after completing the project. Conveniently, you can buy more supplies at their online shop.

FYI, Darby Smart does not include instructions in their boxes. Instead, they provide a code you can use on their website to look up the instructions. Just a note in case you have a preference, but I guess you could always print out the instructions.

These are the materials that were included for the project. Usually, the things you have to supply yourself are things most people definitely have. I only had to supply water and scissors this month.

This is my completed calendar. I took the simple (solid colors) approach, but I really like the way it turned out! Just fyi, it's only coincidental that "F" and "8" are both purple. I painted all the numbers and letters random solid colors including yellow, orange, pink, green, etc.

Verdict: When I first got this project I was a little skeptical about how it would turn out and whether or not it would be worth having after completion, but now that it's done, I really like it! I enjoyed the process, too. This actually seems like something my Mom would really like, so I may give it to her for her upcoming birthday. That's another thing I love about Darby Smart and other DIY subscriptions - a gift you've made yourself is so much more special!

I’m not really into crafts, and yet that one looks so fun! I love creative calendars!
