This letter to parents was included, thanking us for subscribing. It details the contents for the package and talks a little bit about what to expect in future packages.
The folder containing the goodies folds out to a map of Sock Island, with an introduction to some of the characters that live there (the Panda Pals).
This month's theme is Shapes, which my seven-year-old is way too old for, but the younger kids would really enjoy. This is the story that was included. I thought the "story" would be more like a little book, but it's actually just this two-page comic. My son loves comics, though, and this will be good reading experience anyway.
This is the activity sheet that was included. The reverse has a big drawing space. It kind of reminds me of the activity placemats they give kids in restaurants.
One the left is a cut-out paper doll, which my son would never be into, but some kids would for sure. On the right are some stickers, which will be a big hit!
Now on to the main event: the socks! This is the first pair that were included, depicting one of the Panda Pals. Notice that there's a snap that allows the two socks to be snapped together. I've never seen that before! Ingenious!
This is a different angle of the socks that I am including so you can see that the ears of the panda actually stick out! So cute!
This is the second pair of socks they sent us this month, which also can be snapped together. Both pairs of socks are super soft!
Verdict: I think it's pretty clear that Panda Pals had me at the snap! I love that snap! I think this subcription is adorable and would make an especially good present for a child you care about. $15 is a lot for two pairs of socks, but I think the included activities and the specialness of the whole package make it worth it. It really turns a boring present, or the act of buying something boring, into something awesome for kids.
