koala-crate-jan-booklet

This is the booklet that was included. This month's theme is arctic! I don't have any preschool aged children, so I had to get a little help from my two buddies, Jagger and Brooklyn, and their mom, Claudia. Thanks so much for helping, guys!

This is the inside of the booklet. There were three projects this month: Polar Bear Dress-Up, Snowball Toss, and Sparkle Snowflake Stamp. Fun! This also gives you some idea of what the instructions look like. The instructions are clear and easy-to follow, with pictures to go along with the words for our little pre-readers.

These are the supplies that were included. Nothing else was required from home this month!

Here's a peek at Jagger, hard at work on his polar bear costume.

Here's the completed look. Ferocious!

This is Jagger after he completed the first part of the snowball toss game.

This is the second part. I think the idea is to toss the snowballs and try to make them stick together. Fun!

koala-crate-jan-stamping

Jagger looks like he's working so hard on his snowflake stamps!

Here's a look at the paper after he has more of it stamped up. That would make a really pretty and special wrapping paper!

Verdict: I love everything that Kiwi Crate makes, and these guys really love their Koala Crate! Like Kiwi Crate's other offerrings, Koala Crate does require a good bit of adult involvement and supervision. If you want to just hand your child something to keep them busy for a while, I would not judge you! But this is not the activity for that. This is more about bonding with your child, crafting and learning together. It's very well put together, and it's a pretty amazing value at $20 a month!

We just did two of the crafts! My kid is a young 2 year old though, and so a good portion of the crafting had to be done by me. 🙂 She really enjoyed playing with the “bear ears” and “bear hands” though, and I know she’ll enjoy stamping the paper when we get to that. Having a story to read to tie the crafts together is nice too!

Thanks Erica! Apparently Brooklyn is wearing her bear swag to bed every night now. Lol!
