Sephora sells the same sort of thing. You try 5 or 6 scents and then get a coupon to get a roller ball. I love perfume and like the opportunity to try different ones, so I am apparently in the minority in saying I am good with perfume samples. Obviously the fact that I see others who like perfume samples too, shows there is a market.

I also like perfume samples but I agree $30 for this sample pack is a bit much. $15 is the most I’d pay for this regardless of the coupon. And unless the code on the card really isn’t SHOPCODE30 lol, you can just skip buying this and use the discount provided. Great job, Birch!

All-in-all this may be a good option for people who have no access to samples… even though the real reason this box exists is so people can buy one of the 7 perfumes in the box. Just saying lol.

Obviously, from these comments, I am in the minority in regards to the Scent Sampler. I personally enjoy them and don’t mind one bit paying $25.00 for it. I don’t have the time or the interest in driving to and walking all over, to get vials filled for free -which I never heard of- at the brick and mortar stores. In my experience you have to beg for one sample and it is usually a foil one. I do get a lot perfume samples, but always welcome more. Hence the $25.00 is for my convenience and time to try new perfumes, so I see the $30.00 coupon as a bonus.

I must be alone in that I love these. I can’t commit to buying full size ones or $25+ rollerball size, so I happily bought one of these samplers a few months ago with different scents. I added something else I wanted and got my 20% off plus sample bonus. I did find one I’m willing to buy full size, so the $30 off works for me.

I wasn’t aware that department stores filled them free, but half the time I can’t even walk through the makeup/perfume section because they have so many going at once I feel sick. There was only one in the first scent sampler I got that made me feel nauseated.

This comment made me laugh too hard! I am currently de stashing and I’m putting all my perfume samples in a pile and can imagine throwing them up in the air and saying “freeeeeee!”

Agree that I do not understand this price point. Assuming the coupon works like the one in the serum sample pack, you can’t combine it with a 20% code, and the samples aren’t worth much on their own, as most department store will fill sample vials for you. So factoring in what you initially paid for samples, you’re only getting $5 off ($30 minus $25) one of those full sized perfumes …. when you could have used a 20% coupon. At least with the serum pack you got decent sample sizes of usable products.

I’ve been waiting for Florence to show up in one of these kits! I have to agree that the price point has me scratching my head, though. MAYBE it would be worth it, since I could probably take 20% off of the sampler, earn a few more points, and then take another 20% off when I buy the full size…but it’s kind of a stretch. :/

Can’t imagine buying perfume samples. I have no idea how to get rid of the millions I have accumulated from boxes.

I suggest Women’s domestic violence shelters. They make welcome kits with sample toiletries.

No thank you. Doesn’t seem like a good deal.

As much as I love Birchbox, I don’t see the value in these kits. Instead of saving $5 on a perfume with this, I’d rather use a coupon and save 20%. The samples of perfume are free in most places too, so that doesn’t really add value. I guess the only thing it gives is convenience if you don’t have time to sample perfume yourself.

Ugh. Did anyone notice that in the build your own gift box they added a bunch of things including roller balls. I hate perfume samples but I’m all about the size of roller balls and purse sized samples.
