Hydroxatone Celtrixa Intensive Stretchmark Treatment - Retail Value $79.95

This wouldn't be my top brand choice for Beauty DNA, but if it actually helps reduce the appearance of my stretch marks, I'll get over that quickly! I've only been able to try it twice now, so I can't weigh in yet on the effectiveness on stretchmarks, but I like that the lotion is lightweight, absorbs quickly, and the scent is subtle. (Also bonus points for a paraben-free formula!)

Verdict: In general, BeautyDNA has been doing a great job of matching me with brands and products that fit my preferences, and I've been really impressed with the value too. This Hydroxatone brand seems to get mixed reviews across the internet (and I think that's in part due to a misleading free trial advertisement), so I'm OK with giving it a try at a deep discount. Hopefully next month I'll get a more trusted brand, though!

I received my 3 of 4 products from the GiltCity deal (must resub!) and I absolutely loved it!!! As I’ve loved all of my matches. After some issues with FedEx suddenly unable to deliver to my address, I actually did receive it on time (the tracking said it was returning to shipper! and I was going out of town), BeautyDNA doesn’t take live calls and there is a lag on returning your vms or responding to emails, which is my only complaint. I would even be happy with the standard “we’ll get back to you” response so I know it was received, and not lost in some black hole.
So…on to the actual item. I’m a skincare junkie, serum and oil lover! I received the Natura Bisse Rosa Mosqueta Oil which is for my dry skin which I bumped up in my Top 5 since its winter and I thought it would be nice to have something to help with that. This oil is so light and goes on sooo smooth. I can’t say it of most products, but this really made my skin soft which is a big deal :).
It retails $65 at Neiman Marcus/$57 on Amazon (if I want to take that risk lol). Am I actually going to purchase this for $65? Idk, but the Beauty of Beauty DNA is that I get that option to try it for a steal and I get introduced to great products to add to my skincare routine 🙂

I have received Christie Brinkley Eye Treatment ($69) plus Rue La La bonus of Oscar Blandi dry shampoo in sample size. I was surprised to see a celebrity endorsed product. Not sure her line of products are new, but I wasn’t able to find many reviews. I will give it a try as I am usually hesitant to try highly priced anything on my face.

I’ve subscribed for three months so far, and while I haven’t been blown away, I’ve still been fairly pleased with the products they sent. This month I got Earth tu Face Hydrate + Repair face balm. While I certainly wouldn’t pay the $68 list price for it, it is worth at least $25 to me, and only paid $10, so that’s fine. It seems like pretty good stuff, and I even rather like the scent, which a lot of reviewers don’t.

I got the hydroxatone eye cream and it’s amazing. You really should give it a try. Smells divine and I’ve used it for a month straight and I have not even used a third!

I got the Loccitane immortalle divine oil, which is like$106. I love the brand. I also got through gilt city deal and paid about $10, so I felt like I hit the jackpot.

Lindsay

OMG I LOVE THAT OIL. May I ask what in your profile they used to match you with that? I want to try for it now!

Saima

They match me for the lack of radiance, which is like number 3 of my concern. Oh, my card says that it has floral scent and not the beachy or apple scent :). I think they just made up the paragraph around my likes and dislike that has nothing really to do with product, coz I would consider it more of an anti-aging product than the radiance. I really like it though.
I only opt-in to receive serum, moisturizer and hair treatment. HTH

I got a 4 month subscription both times it came on Giltcity and have really liked my products. All have been $75+, and the one that went against my preferences (had spf, and I’m very particular about my spf because they easily feel gross) I just politely emailed customer service and they sent me a replacement that day. My profile is pretty strict on the type of products I want, but I’m really open to different ingredients and am okay with fragrances and parabens (since any link to cancer from them is way overblown from the minimal correlation, and their estrogenic effects are exponentially less than things I more frequently use like ginseng).

I think beautydna should drop hydroxatone. The products are really not that well formulated, and the negative public opinion of the infomercial brand just drags them down as a whole.

I received my hydroxatone eye creme yesterday. I have no clue, why the sent it to me. It does not match with my beauty profile and skin needs. And hydroxatone reviews are pretty poor 🙁 I`m so unhappy, almost start to cry, when opened my box 🙁

That was my reaction also. That’s why I cancelled. I received Luminique (made my Hydroxatone) 4 times in 4 months and I just couldn’t wait for them to fix their issue. I spent so much time and energy on emailing and emailing them…it just got to the point where it wasn’t going to change. I even bought the groupon for 3 months and received Hydroxatone 3 times in 3 month! Different email, different profile, different address! Crazy!!!

I got an item for $21 this month. I called and they are sending a second items so it will over the $25 sub price. Most items for me have been around $40 or under. This is the second time on a 4 month sub I have had to contact them for values that are so low. I got the Gilt City deal so it is pretty good but not as good as a lot of people on here. Also when I paid full price over a year ago I got Coola and kiehl’s and I don’t think they give those out anymore, but I loved getting those brands.

Ann

FYI – I gifted my sister a four-month subscription through Gilt City, and she received a Coola product.

I think this sub depends on what your expectations are. Seeing the products are specifically geared to “your” skincare needs the prices will vary greatly. I think the people who are comparing what they got to what others is what causes the problem. I only paid $40 for one subscription and $34 for the other. IMO anything over $40 is a win. So far they have exceeded my expectations. I made my profiles out skincare heavy and checked no to all haircare and body products I was very specific. Ive received great products from $36-$145. For less then $80 ive received $771.95 in product.
1. Algenist Concentrated Reconstructing Serum $95
2. Jurlique Herbal Recovery Advanced Eye Serum $48
3. 3Lab Perect Cleansing Foam $55
4. mybody MyHero Ultra Rich Anti-Aging Growth Factor Cream $145
5. G.M Collin A.G.E Total Defense $110 ($78 amazon)
6.Kora Organics Cream Cleanser $52
7. Naturopathica Vitamin K Brightening Eye Serum $72
8. Babor Multi Vitamin Fluid $36

Also received two products with spf for the face and they happily replaced due to their mistake.
Hydroxytone am/pm Anti Wrinkle Complex spf15 $69
Christie Brinkley Recapture Day +IR Defense Anti-aging day cream spf30 $89.95

i wanted to like this box but last month i received an anti wrinkle cream with several parabens and i was not interested in anti-aging at all. when i emailed CS they were not very helpful. i even mentioned that fine lines or wrinkles were not a concern in my survey. those are the breaks i guess!!

I feel really sorry for you guys because I’ve had great luck. My favorite product was the Lierac Super 10 which smells amazing and was wonderful for my stretch marks and reducing water weight.

I was with Beauty DNA since the beginning, their first month. At first I received amazing matches. It was my favorite sub….but since they began the codes it went down hill very fast. No longer received the nicer products and wasn’t matched with anything above $35. That went on for about 6 months. Last straw was I canceled this month after I was sent a lip balm (it was $25) and nothing else. In the past they would send 2 products if something was around the $25 mark. Think they’re sending out the better products to the code people and newer people and us long-timers are getting the leftovers. Stay with them long enough and the value seems to start going down.

I’m very annoyed with BeautyDNA. They gave me one free month. When I went to unsubscribe after getting it, the web said that I had a 1-month subscription and that they’d send me a link to resubscribe. They never sent the link and next thing I know, they send me the product for the following month and charge me without any warning. I called them and left a message and e-mailed them and they haven’t gotten back to me.

I don’t have patience for this, so if I don’t hear back form them by tomorrow I’m going to call my credit card and do a charge back.

Sarah

Same thing happened to me. I saw i was charged after they did not send me the link after the month free, then e mailed them about it. They sent me an e mail saying they had refunded me the money, but had already sent the product so i could just keep it. I never received it, which of course is ok because they refunded me the money, but i wondered if it got lost in the mail, so i e mailed them again and they said they had tracked it down in their delivery truck to stop it from getting delivered to me.

I don’t check my credit card bill online, so it can take me a long time to discover I’ve been erroneously charged. But I’m very concerned that this company did this on purpose. Even now, it says the same thing and I have no way to unsubscribe.

Dom

I got this exact same product in my box a few days ago. Not quite a brand I have though of, but I’m happy to try anything new for my stretch marks. I have only been using it for few days, so there aren’t any results yet. But I like that the formula is light and sinks in really quick.

I love this sub! This is my first month I got two subs to this (during the gult city deal I got them for about $7 a month!!!!) and I just got my first box and it had a $149 cream in it! For $7 to get a paraben and sulfate free formula is amazing! My last two months have been both over 80$ or more each and everything paraben free! Honestly I might keep this sub at the $25 price because this is amazing

Kristi

Marissa im guessing you are getting the same cream as me. The mybody MyHero Ultra Rich Anti-Aging Growth Factor Cream? I have been so impressed with this sub as well and got a couple subs from gilt city. I have not been disappointed yet. Customer service has been wonderful so far dealing with two issues I had in the past.

Reply ButtonReply

Marissa

Yes! Exact same cream!

Leah C

I’ve tried them twice and cancelled twice. I’ll never give them another chance. Each time I’ve cancelled they’ve gone on to charge my card again the next month even though I cancelled before the deadline. They used the same excuses both times I cancelled and it had been nearly a year. It’s very hard for them to cancel your subscription and it takes a lot of work. For that reason I’m out

Reply ButtonReply

Kristin

If you buy via gilt city you don’t supply beautydna a credit card so u won’t have an issue. I have gotten amazing products and when they are lower value like hand cream they send two products to increase the value.

Mandy

I finally had to cancel my sub. I was sent the same product (Luminique) over and over and over and over for five months. I would email and tell them that I have already received this and had a bad reaction to it so you swapped it out, why are you still sending this to me? Then the next month it’s the same thing. I kept giving them a chance month after month but at a certain point enough is enough!
