Julep Maven Review & Free Box Code – November 2015 Box

Julep Maven is a monthly nail polish and beauty subscription box. They make all their own products, so subscribers get a good value each month – over $40 retail worth of product for $24.99 a month.

And, if you sign up for 3-months up front, you get the $19.99 rate.

Each month Julep releases a new collection on the 20th, and you can decide which box you want, you can upgrade to the entire collection, or you can skip that month.

And there was an insert for their holiday gifts too:

What is it about holiday time that makes me think there is no such thing as owning too many palettes?

Julep Maven Review & Free Box Code – November 2015 Polish

Julep Nail Color in Jo – Retail Value $14

Julep Nail Color in Linnea – Retail Value $14

Jo is a “brushed silver matte metallic” and Linnea is a “vintage mauve shimmer.”

Here are both swatched from Julep:

I think the Linnea is going to be my favorite – it’s a nice twist on a neutral color!

Julep Maven Review & Free Box Code – November 2015 Bonus

And this month all subscribers received this top coat bonus polish for free! (UPDATE: Julep sent out an email to current subscribers reminding them to “claim” this polish as their free item. If you didn’t receive it in your box, make sure to contact Julep customer care).

I like this sparkly top coat – it is perfect for making any nail polish a little more festive for the holidays. (And really, I can’t complain about free polish!)

Julep Maven Review & Free Box Code – November 2015 Milk

Julep Restorative Facial Milk – Retail Value $38

I have been loving Julep’s new beauty products lately! This is probably my favorite skincare item I have sampled from them. It is fragrance and paraben free, and the formula absorbs so quickly. It’s a mix of oils, and it has a creamy milk consistency. Julep instructs you to massage 1-2 drops into your skin day or night.

It is gentle and lightweight, so this is a skincare winner for me. I will likely buy more next time there is a Julep sale!

Julep Maven Review & Free Box Code – November 2015 Free Color

This box also came with bonus candy and a coupon code for a free polish with your next Julep order of $10 or more. (Expires December 31st, 2015).

Verdict: This is one of my favorite Julep Maven boxes for the value alone. A free bonus polish plus a pricier beauty item is great! What do you think of the November 2015 Julep Maven box? Which items did you pick this month?

  1. So I had Margot on my nails when I got my maven box and put the free top coat Melody over it and it’s really cute! I wouldn’t think to do that on purpose but it’s like a super festive sparkly holiday gold look now. I’d suggest the combo to everyone. haha
I gotta say that the my Maven box is like the best deal for Julep. I used to think it was the mystery boxes, but since I do the $19.99 a month pre-pay and get all the tons of customizable options, plus usually something for free and then candy and coupon…it’s like the best deal ever. For my $19.99 box this month I decided to get another skip the brush bronzer/blush and a cream to powder eyeshadow too. That’s like drugstore prices for those items and then ADD a free polish and piece of candy? Heck yes. This is why I’ve dropped nearly all my beauty boxes except for Julep maven. I still have Birchbox too since you end up well off when stacking points and using credits. Which reminds me that when you take a Maven box you also gets points and more free stuff, plus they’re product innovating all the time-I just love it, can’t you tell? haha

  2. I recieved Linnea, the forest green eyeliner (I have too many polishes at this point lol), and the skin milk. I love all the products. Linnea works perfectly with my very rosy skin tone and looks very neutral on me. I’ve also been wearing it for a full week now, with out a topcoat, and it has barely chipped. I’m hard on my nails too. The skin milk hasn’t aggravated my very sensitive skin. So that’s a total winner.

I didn’t get my free polish though. I’m still baffled by that since I did read the email, clicked on the link to enter my email and “claimed” it. I was very disappointed with that. However, I sent an email to Julep, and one is now on its way, so I’m satisfied. I’ve had this issue a few times with Julep. They lose some points with delivery for missing items and the occasional damaged product. But they more than make up for it with really friendly customer service, prompt responses, and a willingness to always make things right.

    • I claimed a free topcoat too but didn’t get it. I called and they shipped it immediately and included a free dark chocolate and sea salt bar. Sometimes accidents are a good thing 😉

      • My free gift arrived today! I was also sent a chocolate bar. I love you Julep!

  3. What a bummer, I didn’t get the top coat 🙁

    • I didn’t receive the top coat either. 🙁

      • The line claiming all subscribers received the top cost isn’t entirely accurate. It was available to all but you had to claim it in order to receive it as supplies were limited.

  4. That candy nearly removed a crown. Seriously, the stickiest stuff I’ve had in a long time. I’m wearing Kerry right now and although I like the finish, I think gold-ish tones like that don’t look so great on me.

  5. Linnea is a beautiful color, I’m going to have to buy that!

  6. Also, I got a different coupon for 30% off instead of a free color.. luck of the draw maybe? Or different coupon for different boxes? I picked Kris and Cheyanne. That metallic red looked too good to pass up, and I loved it when my box came! 🙂

  7. That milk looks so good! I was thinking of getting this month for it but I dont like metalics 🙁

    • You can swap out your whole box for things that you do like in their collection if you don’t like the metallic colors. You could add more beauty products instead, or pick different colors ….just for future..

    • I don’t have the customizable box where I can pick and chose each item since I have the old 19.99 plan but there are still other variations you can choose. I chose the option with no polish…it was the skincare stuff and cleansing oil and the cleansing oil is one of my favorite items ever from any brand so it was a win for me.

      • I’m the opposite — I usually go all-polish and skip the skincare (I will usually try new lippies, too, when they come out with them). But it’s cool that the same subscription plan can cater to both types of person. (Well, I have the customizable one so I pick my polish colors, too, but you get the idea.)
