Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - box

Dia & Co. is a monthly clothing styling subscription service for plus sizes. I have been waiting for ages for someone to start this kind of service! When I signed up for the service, I filled out a fairly in-depth questionnaire about my likes and dislikes, my size, my price range, and other questions that might help my stylist. Every month my stylist sends five pieces for me to try out. The service fee is $20 per month, but that fee is applied to any item I decide to keep. Additionally, there is a 20% discount if I decide to keep all five pieces!

FYI - My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your package from Dia & Co. may be completely different!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - inside

The Subscription Box: Dia & Co.

The Cost: $20 Styling fee (Pay for whatever items you keep minus the $20 credit)

The Products: 5 plus-size clothing items selected for you based on your Style Profile.

Ships to: US Only, shipping is free both ways

Good to Know: Last month I learned from our readers that Dia & Co. DOES price match! So if you like something and want to keep it, but find it for less somewhere else, Dia & Co. will sell the item to you for that price. I wish I had known that last month!

Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - instructions

Dia & Co. applied this little instruction card to the inside of the box. It explains a bit more about how the service works logistically. Very helpful!

Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - invoice

This is the invoice for the items they sent this month. It shows each item and the cost to keep, plus the cost of the items totaled. Then at the bottom it shows the total with the styling fee credited and the 20% discount for keeping all five items. The discount this month would be $88 if I kept all five items. That's a deep discount!

Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - cardigan

Kiyonna Drawstring Cardigan - Cost to Keep $58

This was my favorite item in the box this month, and I kept it! It's really flattering, and it's a nice, neutral color. Perfect!

Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - scarf

Solid Infinity Scarf - Cost to Keep $35

This scarf was beautiful and super soft. Dark purple is also my favorite color in the world! Unfortunately, I already have way too many scarves, and I get a steady supply of new ones in subscription boxes, so I just couldn't justify keeping it.

Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - jacket

Modamix Motorcycle Jacket - Cost to Keep $124

This jacket was really unflattering on me. It was shiny and bulky and made of polyurethane. This went back.

Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - jeggings-2

Levi's Skinny Jeans - Cost to Keep $59

These are really nice jeggings! Unfortunately, all leggings, skinny jeans, and jeggings are unflattering on me. I wish I could keep them, but... back they go!

Dia & Co. Subscription Review October 2015 - skirt-2

Modamix Floral Pencil Skirt - Cost to Keep $64

This skirt, on the other hand, was very flattering! The black "negative space" on the sides has a bit of a slimming effect. I decided in the end to send it back, though, because I don't ever really wear skirts.

The Verdict: This was my second package from Dia & Co., and so far this has been a really fun experience! I also have to note that they have excellent customer service, for the record. I'm a bit of a picky clothing shopper, and I have to keep to a budget, otherwise I would have kept the scarf and skirt as well. The only thing that was disappointing to me this month is that I had requested a denim jacket - I'm still searching for my perfect fall denim jacket! They sent the moto jacket instead. I appreciate their trying to push me on this style point, but it doesn't adhere to my boho chic aesthetic at all. Otherwise, I am loving my Dia & Co. subscription!

Contact customer service and request a credit of your styling fee. I called them specifically asked them to review my profile vs what they sent me and explain how what they sent me in any way matched my profile or what I had specifically requested for the Month. The stylist was Laura and i specifically requested not to have her again as what she sent me was a lot of black and pleather! FYI, I am a 55 year old professional working woman. Pretty much every request I made was ignored. I am getting a new box early December and if it is not better I am cancelling.

I’ve noticed from my own box and others’ reviews of this month’s box that they are sending a lot of us the same things. I got the moto jacket also and it was way above my price point and against everything I put about my style. I feel like I was out $20. I’m going to give them another shot next month but a lot of us are getting the same things. It’s almost as if they got a whole bunch of things on clearance and are forcing them into all of our boxes.

I work for a major plus-size brand and can tell you we sell a few of these brands and they are quality. Kiyonna – the brand that made that awesome cardigan – especially I love. If you ever want to treat yourself get one of their dresses. They range from evening to sleeker microfiber dresses that are suitable for work with a jacket or cardigan. Knowing they stock this brand makes me hopeful they could theoretically dress someone more professionally.

That cardigan is awesome! I’d love to have gotten that. I requested colors, patterns, anything but black and white. But they keep sending me black and white items, and last month a scarf. I don’t want any accessories, black or white pieces, I just want colors and patterns; so far they haven’t given me that at all. I keep sending notes to my stylist but don’t get any confirmation of it either. I’m giving them one more month to see if they send me anything with color or pattern otherwise I’m going to cancel. Last month I requested a tulle skirt and didn’t get one either. I haven’t been impressed at all with their customer service.

cal their customer service directly and tell them your problem. Their is one stylist that completely ignores the profile and sends whatever she wants, not what the customer wants. You may have her. I would ask for another stylist and a credit of my fee. Megan is good and tends to do colors. She did my first box. If I am not happy with my next box, I am going to try PLVSH which is more expensive but which appears to be better quality and more for the professional. My concern with Dia&co is that they only know how to dress young non-professionals and that they can’t style older women.

I’m a size 8 (forgot what this subscription service was) and I don’t look good in skinny jeans/leggings/jeggings either.

I love that cardigan, good for you to keep it! That skirt is gorgeous too, but I can see why you wouldn’t keep it if you don’t wear skirts on the regular or even occasionally.
