Gentleman’s Box Subscription Box Review – October 2015

Gentleman’s Box is a subscription service for men.  Every month they honor a new gentleman by selecting products themed around them.

If it wasn’t obvious, the Gentleman’s Box has been redesigned!  It’s a square box, were before it was long enough to fit the GQ magazine.  I’m also seeing a pamphlet instead of an insert card, so I’m already excited to see what’s in store this month.

I really appreciate the new pamphlet!  It tells us this month’s featured gentleman is “Our Favorite Intergalactic Director.” The one and only George Lucas and talks about all his contributions to the film industry, schools and various organizations.  I also learned this is the second month with the redesigned box.  Each month they not only honoring a Gentleman, they are also featuring an interview with a Gentleman’s Box member. There’s also a page for each product this month. Well done GB Team, well done!

Appellation - Grapeseed Moisturizer 5ml - Value: $1.00

I’m just a little bit confused with this item.  I believe John was supposed to receive a shampoo.  When I pull this item up on the California North website, I can only find it within a sample pack geared for women.  Anyway, John used it before I read that so don’t tell him!  LOL!   He said it was very smooth, but didn’t have much to say about it.  I smelled the packet while he was using it and it smelled exactly like grapeseed oil.

Mettle Company - Buddha Bracelet - Value: $23.00

This gorgeous bracelet is made from tiger’s eye stone and has an elastic band.  John hates to give it up but we’re unfamiliar with the Buddhist faith.  It’s best to make this available for someone that can appreciate and understand all of the qualities put into this piece of art.  So, this will be up for swaps.  Mettle Company also provided a coupon for 20% off purchases, use code “GentlemansBox”.

Sock 101 - The Thomas Sock - Value: $7.00

This navy and pink striped style is fitting for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  John loves the socks that come in subscription boxes and he loved the bold pink this month.  I’m really getting jealous of all the cool clothes he’s getting lately.  Sock 101 has a sock subscription service for men and women...hmmm we may have to have a Him vs. Her “Sock-Off”. LOL

Winners Circle Fashion - Floral Tie in Pinto - Value: $22.00

Love Love Love this tie.  What an interesting way to bring in the pink this month!  I liked this tie more than John but he wore it proudly anyway.  He said it’s the most perfectly sized tie for him, not too skinny, not too wide.

Winners Circle Fashion - Pocket Square in Pinto - Value: $12.00

The perfect complement to the Pinto Tie.  John of course doesn’t wear his pocket squares, but he loves getting the set.  I’d say it’s my favorite tie/square to date. Side Note: He’s probably going to get more for this family photo but I wanted to show you the beard he’s being growing out.  I just love a big grizzly bear beard and a nice suit.  I think dressy styles like this really bring the balance to all that facial hair.  Who else loves a bearded man!?

Verdict:  The Gentleman’s Box for October had an estimated retail value of $65.00 excluding the cost of the GQ Magazine which ships separately.  John was able to enjoy all of the products with one exception.  I took notice of the new and improved box and pamphlet and I can’t wait to read more with next month’s featured Gentlemen.  There was a little confusing with the product replacement, but I’m glad the shampoo was replaced with an alternate from the same brand.
