Cairn Subscription Box Review October 2015 - quote

I love the quotes they print on their liner paper!

This was my fourth package from Cairn. When I signed up they asked me to do a huge questionnaire for customization purposes. It asked questions about the types of outdoor activities I like, and I chose hiking, camping (car), backpacking, and yoga. They had loads of options, though, like rock climbing, moutain biking, fishing -- just about everything I could think of! They also asked a few lifestyle questions (kids? dogs?) plus basics like t-shirt size.

All this leads me to believe that contents may vary from subscriber to subscriber, so if you subscribe but get different things, please let me know!

This is the info card that came in the package, listing out all the contents.

Cairn Subscription Box Review October 2015 - cooler

Mountainsmith Hemp Cooler Tube - Value $25

Cairn Subscription Box Review October 2015 - cooler-2

This is a tube cooler that can hold six cans and be worn and carried as a sling. I think this might be my new favorite thing ever! I can't tell you how excited I am about this piece of gear, especially for hiking, but you might find me wearing it around the neighborhood, even. This is totally innovative!

Cairn Subscription Box Review October 2015 - stick-snack

Joshua Tree Winter Stick - Value $7

This is another really innovative item - think chapstick for your face. With SPF!

Ally's Bar Original Sweet Potato - Value $3.50

I haven't tried this yet, but I definitely will. I love sweet potato, and it's so good for you. It also has a bumch of other superfoods in it like dates, quinoa, nuts, berries, and a touch of chocolate. Yum!

Cairn Subscription Box Review October 2015 - magazine

Backpacker Magazine Fall/Winter Gear Guide - Value $7

Honestly, the last thing I need to be doing right now is looking at 33 pages of gear. You see, I have a bit of a problem with shopping. I love this magazine though because it has lots of trails in it, both locally and globally!

Cairn Subscription Box Review October 2015 - patches

Gear Aid Tenacious Tape Tattoos - Value $5

We have tried tenacious tape before thanks to subscription boxes, and I am pleased to say that they work really well and don't start lifting in the wash! We are happy to have more.

Cairn Subscription Box Review October 2015 - envelope

Cairn's envelopes always look so enticing!

Cairn Subscription Box Review October 2015 - extras

Here are our extras for the month! The first is a coupon for 30% off Joshua Tree Skin Care. The second is 20% off Ally's Bar.

The Verdict: We are really enjoying our Cairn subscription so far! I don't think they have sent us anything we won't use or at least try, and much of it has come in handly already. This month's box has a value of $47.50, which is super for a $25 box!

This is my third month- and I did some kind of 3 month deal I think directly from them. I love this box! I love outdoor gadgets and the 6 pack cooler holder is SO cool. Hiking with friends will be so fun when I ‘surprise’ them at the top of the mountain with a cold beverage! I hike & backpack & travel so this sub is one of my faves.

Have they ever had a coupon incentive to join? Wondering if I should wait for one.
