I signed up with the code for this and yesterday received a shipping confirmation along with a notice saying they ran out of these boxes and I was getting a regular October box that ended up having all samples I’ve received in my other sub. Lame.

That is lame! I signed up Oct. 12 and haven’t received shipping notification, and this box is still showing up as my Oct box (with no ability to review). I bet I’m getting a regular box, too. D’oh!

Regarding Reward Points – you don’t have to have active subscription to keep the points, but they do expire after 365 days. It says clearly on your account under Points History/Reward Points in the grey box. I think it means that old points that hit 1 year mark will expire.

Yup, they do expire. While I can see 399 points in my points history since I took a long break from Birchbox and they are over a year old they are all expired.

I am sorry to hear that. If you have purchased something recently, it might be worth contacting their customer service to get your point reinstated or at least some of them. So far I have had good experiences.

Well, now everyone who wants one can subscribe for this one month and then unsubscribe.
I think a lot of us do that with Birchbox to get advantage of their cheap offers. This month, for example, I opened a new account to get the $5 a box deal so I could get an October box. I didn’t get to choose my items, but I’m happy with 4 of the 5 that I’m getting – and my box is actually in its way.

Sad. Im increasingly noticing that they only give good deals to NEW people. What about us loyal longer time subscribers? Im also an ACE member. Saddddddd. (I got this box as one of my boxes, I have 2 accounts, however, Im just noticing all the perks for new subscribers that werent around even 6 months ago. Nothing I can do about it other than vent frustration like the lady below me…)

There is a way. Every month I see a deal I cancel my account. Then I resubscribe with the promo code I want. Last month I cancelled then I just re signed up with the deal to get 2 boxes for the price of one. The month before I did the same for the 5$ box and so forth. I never leave my BB account active because every other day there is a new deal to be had 🙂

How do you manage to do it? I tried it this month (I had two accounts, one active and one cancelled). I have renewed subscription for my cancelled account because I wanted the “customer favorite” box in addition to the October one. I have used the code and I have even seen the “Free gift” in the checkout, but after a day ot disappeared from my order and now I received just the October box.

Jodi – I did the same thing. I just checked my account “Order History” and it is under processing. I clicked “View Order” and I don’t see any promo info or code being applied. Now I wonder if I receive the free box. I checked older orders and I saw which code or promo had been applied…

When youn cancel, what happens to your unused points? Do you lose it or will you get to use it once you “reactivate” your cancelled account?

Well then how do you save up points if you keep canceling? Obviously you would lose those points right?

This is BS. I resubscribed because I wanted to pick from curated boxes. Never got an e-mail. Contacted customer service and they acted as if mascaras were only options left available. I have contacted them to see if I can get this box instead of whatever they were planning to send out for October (unknown if it was already sent). They are unavailable today for Columbus Day. I don’t know if my experience with them could be any more soured than it already has.

I received a response from customer service and I am getting the Power Pose box. I am happy but am concerned that the system is not set up for existing customers but attracting new customers. Attracting new customers is important but you should not get complacent with your current customers.

I don’t know how they are just giving these away when I am an ACE as well as a breast cancer survivor who had this in my cart but my 20% coupon didn’t work and when they finally got back to me, it was sold out and now they say there is nothing they can do for me.
