bag-wander-oct-2015-

Bag and Wander is a relatively new subscription box that sends you a box of items great for travel or other on-the-go needs.

This box includes a card detailing the items included. This month's theme is Happy Camper. (And for October they added some candy corn as a bonus!)

bag-wander-oct-2015-lantern

UCO Mini Candle Lantern - Value $13

This is an adorable mini lantern. To give you a better sense of scale - it fits a tea light. Colors will vary for subscribers, and I feel like I lucked out getting black.

F As In Frank Papergoods Deer Matchbox - Value $3

This is an adorable little matchbox - I think it's a fun addition for the theme.

Sweet Lydia’s Original S’more  - Value $4

My husband Eric absolutely LOVED this S'more! It is described as a "Gourmet Vanilla Marshmallow is sandwiched between two graham crackers, covered in milk chocolate," so I'm not surprised he's a fan!

bag-wander-oct-2015-scarf

Handwoven scarf by Elizabeth Koh - Value $36

A little more about Elizabeth Koh:

With each scarf sold, EK provides housing, education, and a loving home environment to children in Thailand through our partnership with SOS Children’s Villages. Check out this page for more information on our benefit program.

This scarf is a thin, loose weave and should work in almost any climate. We just had some 45-degree weather, so this scarf isn't looking nearly toasty enough for me, but it will be great for Spring and Summer.

bag-wander-oct-2015-soap

Three Sisters Apothecary Rose & Coconut Milk Bar Soap  - Value $3.25

Three Sisters Apothecary makes the best soaps! I don't always like rose scents, but this one is a winner for me!

Naked Botanicals Insect Repellent in Lavender - Value $5

I never thought I'd say this, but I really like the scent of this insect repellent! I can't weigh in on its insect repelling yet, but it isn't human repelling! (If you love lavender, I think you'll love it).

Also, I signed up for a 3-month subscription to take advantage of their free Baggu promo they had earlier this month:

Bag and Wander Bonus Item!

But the free gift changed:

bag-wander-oct-2015-tote-note

Here is the new free gift:

bag-wander-oct-2015-tote

Tricoastal Design Cat Tote Bag - Value $12

I appreciate that they replaced a cat tote with a cat tote! This one is adorable too.

Verdict: This box has a value of about $64 (not counting the value of the tote since it was a new subscriber promo item). I think that value is great for this type of box, and I really enjoyed this box even though I'm not a camper at all (I'm not even a glamper!).

What do you think of the October 2015 Bag and Wander Box?

FYI – They have a new theme on their Instagram and Facebook pages… Its “Mix & Mingle” (holidays, entertaining, simple gatherings, portable cocktails)

I just bought that same cat bag for $3 at Forever 21….it is not a $12 bag. JAHU!

I didn’t get the bonus candy, which initially made me a bit sad, but then I remembered that I hate candy corn, so it’s all good :-D. I ate the s’more thing last night, though, and it was very tasty!

The scarf didn’t look that good to me from the spoiler picture, but now that I’ve seen it in person, I like it a lot. It looks nice, and I actually need a neutral color.

The mini lantern and care tote is super cute!! Our family does go camping and the only useful item is the lantern.

I always enjoy receiving this box– I’ve been with them since June– but I REALLY wish that they had included the tote for ALL subscribers– I almost feel like I am being “overlooked” because of already being a subscriber…

Me too – I thought they were doing something different for loyal subscribers?.
I really like both totes, but I’m probably okay without another bag since I have so many already. And it seems like a lot of boxes do stuff for new subscribers, like Popsugar with the necklace, purse, discounts, etc and Bespoke Post with their Groupon discounts. So I really can’t fault them…

One of my favorite sub boxes! So glad you reviewed it.

I completely forgot to order this box but now that I’m seeing the items again, I’m happy I did. I like the replacement tote a lot but that’s about all I really like. Guess it all worked out in the end lol.

What a great box and I love that they threw in a bonus candy that works for the season.

This box looks great! But is anyone else concerned about “a falling out with the Baggu team”?

Ashley

I had the same thoughts. Doesn’t seem overly professional to announce having issues with another brand for any reason. Just my opinion….

I had a completely different take on this. I actually think they handled the situation well by telling the truth and not making up some nonsense about stock or shipping issues.

Yay! I’m so glad you’re reviewing this box now! Thank you!

I’ve really been enjoying this sub so far, haven’t used everything in every box yet, but the things I have used I love! And I know I’ll get around to using the others soon too.
