Uppercase YA Book Subscription Box Review – September 2015 Book

Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman - Retail Value $17.99 (On Amazon for $10.09)

Book Summary from Amazon:

When Kate Thompson’s father is killed by the notorious Rose Riders for a mysterious journal that reveals the secret location of a gold mine, the eighteen-year-old disguises herself as a boy and takes to the gritty plains looking for answers and justice. What she finds are devious strangers, dust storms, and a pair of brothers who refuse to quit riding in her shadow. But as Kate gets closer to the secrets about her family, she gets closer to the truth about herself and must decide if there's room for love in a heart so full of hate.

In the spirit of True Grit, the cutthroat days of the Wild West come to life for a new generation.
Yay! This is on my list of books to read, and the cover art is just gorgeous!

And to go with the book: a signed bookplate sticker and a bookmark!

Uppercase YA Book Subscription Box Review – September 2015 Notepad

To Be Read List Notepad by Risa Rodil - Value $8?

I'm estimating on the value since this is an exclusive notepad designed for Uppercase Box subscribers. I think this is a perfect notepad for book lovers - and the artwork is cute too!

Uppercase YA Book Subscription Box Review – September 2015 Earrings

Juniper & Ivy Designs Golden Snitch Earrings - Value $14

These are such a great Harry Potter fan item! And I'm impressed with the materials used considering the price point:

These awesome Harry Potter Golden Snitch earrings are made from real Maple wood that is sustainably sourced from the USA. They have a nice deep etching that provides great contrast.  The snitch is hand painted with 18kt gold paint.
The earrings are made with Titanium posts, they are hypoallergenic and nickel free.

Here is a photo of me holding them to give a better sense of scale:

They have some great Star Wars and Disney inspired earrings too!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $30 if you count the Amazon discounted price of the book. But considering this book also comes with a bookmark and signed bookplate sticker, to me, the value is higher than the sale price on Amazon.

And I love the curation of this subscription! I can't wait to read Vengeance Road! What do you think of the September 2015 Uppercase box?

Uppercase is my favorite book subscription box! I’ve been receiving it for awhile now but the last couple months have been amazing. I love the earrings and I’m always excited to get them in a subscription box. The book was one I was secretly hoping for and the little post it notes with interactive words really enhance the whole experience. So happy with this subscription!

I’m actually wearing my earrings now! They’re so cute. The book I received this month was The Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman. I’m enjoying it so far!

This looks like a really fun box (and I don’t even usually like YA)! Cute notepad as well. 🙂

I’m impressed that they are including hypoallergenic earrings! I’ve had to put “no pierced ears” on all my subscriptions since I have so many issues (although I’m pleasantly surprised that the Rachel Zoe ear climbers can be worn with no pain). I wish more subs would do that!!!

I’m trying to resist the book subscriptions (since I have a closet full of books already that don’t fit on my existing shelves) but this looks like a great box.

This is why I write “no pierced ears” on subs as well. Even though I have six piercings in EACH ear. Although lately I have been able to coat the posts of most earrings in clear nail polish before wearing and keep them in for a few hours at least.

Not sure if you’ll get this Brandi, but I would be glad to send you the earrings from my box if you still want them (total freebie). I’ve never even taken them out of their box. Just email me at [email protected] if interested. 🙂

This is my favorite Uppercase so far! Of the five months I’ve been getting it anyway. The book sounds great and is a standalone, and I LOVE the earrings! And the notepad! 🙂

This was my first Uppercase box! I got it because of your blog. :). I love YA books but don’t have time to search out good ones with 2 young humans at home to care for. lol. So this is great! Also it will push my reading boundaries to try new books that I never would have thought to read! :). Thanks for a great blog!

Well darn, now I have to decide on if I want to see if someone posts the earrings for swap or buy them myself 😉 Thanks for the great review!
