Each box comes with a brochure detailing the theme and the items selected for the month. This month’s theme is “Smarty Pants.”
The brochure provides a quick description of the items included in the box and clearly outlines which items are gluten-free, vegan, non-GMO, etc.
Smarty Pants Adult Complete Vitamins (2 gummies)- $.51
Smarty Pants vitamins have been popping up quite a lot recently in subscription boxes. I love gummy vitamins, so I’m always happy to receive an extra sample, and I think the Smarty Pants formula is particularly tasty. My only complaint is that this packet is smaller than a single serving (a single serving is 6 gummies and this packet contains 2). The sample sized packet feels like it sound be a bonus extra, not one of the month’s featured snacks.
Yum Earth Organics Fruit Snacks (.7 oz.)- $.80
Yum Earth Organic Fruit Snacks is another item I’ve received frequently lately in subscription boxes. I love gummies, and I think these are fantastic, so I’m happy to receive more. The snacks are soft (vs. chewy) and come in banana, cherry, peach, and strawberry.
Funley's Cheddar N' Stuff Super Crackers (.7 oz)- $.71
Snacks with “hidden veggies” seem to be more prevalent than ever these days! I think they’re a great way to sneak added nutrients into kids’ (and adults’) diets, and I would certainly buy them more regularly if I had wee ones at home. These cheddar crackers from Funley’s contain hidden broccoli, but they taste just like traditional cheese crackers.
Mini Jimmy Bar in Peanut Butter Clutter (23 g.)- $1.25
Mini Jimmy Bars are gluten-free and contain no preservatives and no added sugar. I’m not wild about the taste of this mini bar, but it does have a pronounced peanutty flavor.
Mrs. Thinsters Cake Batter Cookie Thins (1 oz.)- $.60
I’m usually a little hesitant when it comes to treats that have “cake batter” flavor because I often find the taste a little too artificial for my liking. Luckily, these cookies are an exception. They’re rich, crispy, and good enough that I want to eat them all in one sitting!
Bear Naked Sea Salt Caramel Apple Granola (1.2 oz.)- $.39
My husband loves granola, so he snatched up this small packet of Bear Naked Sea Salt Caramel Apple Granola as soon as I was finished photographing it. He’s a fan of the addition of dried apple and said he’d happily buy more.
Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps Gluten Free Minis (1 oz.)
I ate these pretzels without realizing that they were gluten free, which is always a good sign, I think!
Lightly Salted Snapea Crisps (.75 oz.)- $.46
Snapea Crisps are one of my favorite alternatives to traditional potato chips. They’re crispy, crunchy, and have great flavor.
As always, Love with Food included a couple of coupons and promotional materials to accompany the products in this month’s box.
They also included a postcard and stamped mailer from Schoola, a company that sells “pre-loved clothing” and donates some of the profits to kids’ programs. Using the included mailer, you can donate your used clothing. $2 of every $5 sold is donated to a school of your choice. This is the first I’ve heard of Schoola, and I think it sounds like a great program!
Verdict: I’m pretty happy with this month’s Love with Food tasting box, and I think my favorite items are the cookie thins and fruit snacks. A few months ago, Love with Food lowered the prices on all of their boxes, and the Tasting Box is now $9.99 per month or $7.99 per month with an annual subscription. I couldn’t find pricing available for all of the items in this month’s box, but I’d estimate the value to be around $6. That’s a bit lower than the value I’ve seen in the past couple of months (last month’s box had a $9 value), but Love with Food boxes do have a tendency to fluxuate in value from month to month. Hopefully, we’ll see an increase in value next month.
What was your favorite item in this month’s Love with Food box?
