SMFX Smart Lightbulb - Value $46.92 on Amazon

First up is a smart LED light bulb! I'm a sucker for gadgets and technology - so, of course, I'm excited for this. Liz got me a Philips smart LED light bulb set a couple of years ago - they are great. What I like about this bulb is that it's a self-contained unit - you screw it in the outlet and control it on iOS or Android via Bluetooth. My Philips bulbs required me to plug a hub into my router to control them - so this is much better for me.

Allocacoc PowerCube - $22.99

Maybe I'm a sucker for too many things, but I'm also a sucker for power cords! I know, it's weird - but you always need a surge protector. I've never seen this cube power unit before - I like it a lot. I also like that it has an optional mounting unit. They had me at PowerCube.

Machine Era Brass Pen - Value $39.00 on Amazon

This a beautiful solid brass pen. It has a very nice weight to it, being solid brass and all - very solid pen - and it looks good, I'll be keeping it on the desk!

Chomps Hoppin' Jalapeno - Value $2.25

This is the second time we've receive Chomps in a subscription box, and they make some delicious snack sticks! I literally just ate this, and while you can taste the jalapenos - its not too spicy, and doesn't leave a burning aftertaste. It's perfect for me!

The Goodwell Company Floss - Value $5.99

This travel floss kit is 100% biodegradable and shaped like a credit card! I've never sen these before, but they are uniquely made to travel with you in your wallet or purse. Please note, this is one single card, and a $5.99 box contains 10 cards.

Here's a look at the card shape.

Verdict: This is my first time reviewing the Kevin Rose Quarterly box - and I really enjoyed it! I thought there was a really nice curation of products around his theme, and it came in over the cost of the box - it was win-win! On top of that, I'll be putting every item from this box to good use - and that's always what I look for in a subscription box!

Quarterly needs to put more thought into which boxes can be shipped internationally. Both lightbulb and powercube cannot be used in Europe. Other boxes included items which are useless in Europe as well.

Paying USD 130.00 for items worth 57.00 is a bit of a bummer.
