Gwynnie Bee is a clothing rental subscription service for women sizes 10-32. I have been intrigued with their concept for a while because I think plus-sized clothing is sorely underserved in the subscription box market. I have been really happy to have an opportunity to try them out!

Gwynnie Bee kindly invited me to try their service for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

TRISTE - Chic Retro Floral Shift Dress

This was a fun dress for late summer. I love the retro mod print! I also have to confess I'm getting a little addicted to Triste shift dresses. I can always count on them being a good shape for my figure.

CITY CHIC - Miss Fluffy Cardi In Mint

This cardigan was a great piece for the early transition to fall! I wore it over a tank top with some jeans and it was perfect. It didn't feel heavy, but it was super fuzzy! I liked that it had a fairly unique look.

TRISTE - Abstract Cityscape Shift Dress

Since this is another shift dress by Triste, you can imagine that I was happy with it! The print was a little more bold in real life than on their website, but I still liked it enough.

LONDON TIMES - V-Neck Shift Dress In Abstract Print

This dress was super comfortable, but looked a little sack-ish on me. I did like the V-neck, though - they do wonders to elongate the neck, and at the same time it wasn't too plunging.

LUCIE LU - Thea Tunic In Abstract Diamond Print

This tunic was really flattering! I really liked the open neckline.

TRISTE - Parallel Dimension Shift Dress

This was my favorite dress all month! And surprise! It's another shift dress from Triste. I love the colors and the print so much. It was also really flattering. I've noticed lately that dresses with the illusion of a belt are oddly flattering on me. I don't think that's supposed to be true of short, curvy girls like myself. But, it works, so I'll work it!

The Verdict: Gwynnie Bee is great! I have really been enjoying my subscription with them. As time goes on, I find that it's a really good match for me, primarily because I like wearing new things all the time. I think I am actually spending a lot less money buying clothes because of Gwynnie Bee! There are so many things I buy and then only wear once or twice anyway. I also really like that they have new items every week, so it really is like having an unlimited wardrobe!

I started with Gwynnie Bee (GB) in Feb 2015. I has worked well for me. As I have gone from a size 22W to a size 16W, I would be going broke without them. I have had several issues. There was a huge open pin in one article of clothing that got missed by a clothing inspector which I also initially missed, that is until I was stabbed by it. There have been several articles of clothing that have come through with damage, and several times items weren’t clean. GB usually offers extra articles of clothing for a short while to make up for their errors or a prolonged turn around time. However, overall I am happy with the service.

Love all the styles but detest every print…I want more solid block professional clothes that I can accessories myself.

I love Gwynnie Bee…

I have three Triste fit & flare dresses in my closet I bought from Gwynnie Bee either as keep at home or through the Gwynnie Bee shop. I’ve actually bought quite a few things from the shop which updates every Saturday. 🙂

My experience so far has not been a good one. I’ve gotten I think 8 garments so far in September and they all seem to be made from some sort of cheap polyester spandex blend that looks tacky. The service itself, the website, the customer service, packaging, and turnaround time are all awesome. But all that doesn’t matter if the clothes are not wearable.

I agree the quality is not the best and they’re very overpriced. But disagree the customer service lacks a lot and the turnaround time for shipping sucks for me. I sent two items back a week ago and still waiting for two new items to be sent to me. Plus I’ve had stuff get “stuck in my closet” even though I returned it a week-months ago. Now they’ve stopped ordering City Chic items in my size, really debating on canceling and keeping Dia & Co.

I’ve been thinking about giving this a try, but I do have a quick question. I notice you have 5 garments out, though you say it’s the 3 out at a time service. Does that mean you exchanged two of your items at some point over the month for the other two? If so, can you basically just swap out items throughout the month as many times as you want? If that’s what I’m looking at, then it seems it’ll definitely be worth the money.

Hi Jen! I had 6 garments total out over the course of one month, so yeah, I sent each one back when I was done with it and they sent me a new one. Yes, you can swap out as many times as you like. You can look back over my previous GB reviews to see how many I wore each month, but I think my record was 12 items in a single month. It’s pretty awesome!

I had that orange flowered Triste shift too! I wanted to keep it but even at 35% off it’s $60 and that’s insanity for a used GB house brand dress.

Ouch, yeah that’s steep. I have one on right now that’s $29 I’m thinking of keeping – I wonder why that one is so much more? Weird.
