I wish I would’ve gotten the julep lip gloss! I like their brand, even tho I do sub to it already so I don’t need it in another sub box as well. I got the lipstick tho & it was TERRIBLE!! Immediately went in the trash after trying it. I hate that they always seem to send out crazy colors of makeup. I think more people would be happy with a neutral color than a fire engine red lipstick. & I would love to see better brands in the boxes. The last couple boxes have been duds- they need to throw in some urban decay or tarte or smash box!!

Totally cancelling this sub. I hate glosses. (though I saw that tip up there and I’ll try that if I get luxe gloss) – the lipstick is fine but Julep is such a sub par brand. If I wanted Julep, I’d sub to them. Glossy used to be awesome but lately, not so great. I’ve had them for over a year and after the end of year, I’m considering a cancel
Glad to hear you are going to try our tip for the Julep Luxe gloss! We have some great products in our September box to look forward to. I am sorry that you were not satisfied with our recent products. I will direct your criticism to my colleagues, so that we can improve our service in the future.

I also really like the Julep gloss. It was very moisturizing and had no bad smell or stickiness. Mine is the sheer pink and it gives my lips a nice natural shine.
Since I already get the Julep box I’m hoping for the lipstick for variety but if I get the gloss hopefully it will be a different color. Then again I like my color so I could always use more.

I already sub to Julep so I would rather the Stiks product.
On the other hand, I don’t know why so many people are downing Julep’s gloss. I don’t know if I got the “best batch ever” but I have two of them and they’re great glosses. They’re thick but aren’t sticky and smell like vanilla. They kept my lips moisturized for hours and I didn’t have to reapply repeatedly throughout the day. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how good they are. Do I think they’re worth their regular price? No but that’s only because I’m not the kind of person to pay over $5 for a gloss.

Lipstick looks cool, but knowing my luck I’ll get stuck with the Julep lip luxe. I really don’t like shiny, sticky, gross smelling yuck on my lips and under my nose.

You would think they’d post a better spoiler for the first item as that would be used to entice people to subscribe. If this is the best of the box,…….

You got that right. As someone who came close to subscribing, this is only confirming that I made the right choice NOT to subscribe.

Like most of the other comments, not excited to get Julep in another box. I get the Julep box, and if I want this lip product (don’t have it yet -and based on the comments here, I think I’ll avoid it) I’ll order it from Julep.

I totally agree with all the comments – glossybox has gone down. The boxes used to be so well curated and there would be successful brands mixed in with new, cool brands. Nobody is getting is getting excited about Julep because they have their own box and tbh, they’re not that great of a brand. The last few months of gb boxes have been bad, so I really thought they would step up their game this month. Disappointing. I hope everyone is reviewing their products every month and taking the monthly satisfaction quiz; I’ve been giving honest but negative feedback. Last month was my last box and I have enough glossy dots to redeem a box but doesn’t look like I’ll be doing that anytime soon.

Super disappointing. I can’t imagine I’ll be renewing my subscription when it’s up in a few months.

The site keeps eating my comments, so forgive me if they randomly re-appear and I have doubles, but yes, that Julep Luxe lip stuff is AWFUL. I love Julep but that stuff is a nightmare, I threw away 2 full tubes of it so far…and there’s a lot I’ll do before I literally just throw it away. Just watery and tastes like wax, so sad.

DANG! Just subscribed to Glossybox & now wondering if I made horrid mistake! Did deal recently offered w/extra box but wondering if it will be just a box of ‘mistakes’. Well, I can always bless others locally at community storehouse (I coupon so most drug store brands I get close to free & love to share good deals with charities).
NOTE: Probably suggested before but samples we get make GREAT gifts for women’s shelters, homeless shelters, etc. Haven’t subscribed for long but when I couponed more & had excess, we’d make goody bags (also traveled on job so got hotel shampoos, soaps, etc.)

I’m with you, Karen. I caved and signed up because of the 3 for 2 deal and now it seems that was not a wise move. Oh well. I like your idea of donating unwanted items. I have plenty I can do that with.

Just cancelled my subscription. Three blah months in a row. Not worth it

Glossybox using Julep is one of the reasons I try to stay away since I already sub Julep and don’t want doubles…I do like most of Julep’s stuff but this luxe lip stuff is absolute garbage…and I mean that literally because I’ve thrown away the one I got in my first Maven box and the second I got in a mystery box. They’re that bad, that you’d rather just throw them in the trash.

So glad this is my last glossybox (I got a 6 month sub through rue la la). It seems it’s always the same stuff every month. And Julep? really? Their quality is horrible.

I too am starting to lose interest in Glossybox. It was my favorite for a while, but the last few months have been a little uneven, and some boxes I’ve only kept one item, swapped the rest.

I cashed in my glossydots for the September box. Once it ships I’m canceling my subscription. I can’t believe how dramatically this box has changed since I first subbed. Such a shame.

I’m a little frustrated with Glossybox lately (like a lot of other people, I subscribe to Julep too). I’m going to stick it out until I can cash out my Glossydots (I have in the high 800s somewhere) but then I don’t know. I could put that money towards something else.

That lipstick looks interesting, purely because of the case. And if the box is only sending out “gross browns and nudes” then maybe i should sub to it, as someone who is a gross brown color, lol. Frankly i appreciate a box that knows not everyone subbing to them is fricking snow white.

This is my last box, so disappointed! Now I wish I had kept my boxycharm instead…. but now I won’t have either. My addiction to subscription boxes is dwindling very quickly….

I’m meh about this one. I already subscribe to Julep and haven’t heard very good things about that lip product. I’ve never heard of the other brand.

UGH! I tried the Julep Luxe stuff and it is god awful. It’s like a nasty wet grainy mess on your lips. I really regret getting that deal on Ruelala now…definitely dropping Glossybox as soon as that ends. What a waste of money.

Hello Sarah,
Sorry to hear you did not enjoy this product the last time you tried it. We suggest you try applying the Julep Luxe Up Your Lips before bed. This allows your lips to absorb the treatment while you’re asleep, so you can wake up with a full pout! This product is full of Vitamin E and omega-rich pumpkin seed oil. It soothes, hydrates, plumps your lips, and is also a great tinted gloss.
