Each box includes an info booklet that details each item and why Allure editors decided to include it in the box.

Tangle Teezer – Value $15

I’ve received one of these brushes before in a subscription box, and they are great for detangling wet or dry hair. Here is a better look at the brush part:

It gives you a bit of a head massage too!

Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer + Brightener – 7 ml Value $6.70

Based on the packaging, I was expecting this primer to have a bronze tint to it, but it goes on clear. It has a subtle citrus scent and left my skin super smooth – I’m a fan!

Pixi Glow Tonic – 15 ml Value $1.75

(Good to know for swaps – comes with foil seal).

This is an alcohol-free toner. It was gentle on my skin, and I like that the glycolic acid helps exfoliate too.

And this sample also came with a Pixi COUPON: Get a Free Mega Bundle when you sign up for a 12-month subscription! No coupon needed - just use this link.

Alterna Caviar Anti Aging Replenishing Moisture Milk – .85 oz Value $5

I love the Alterna brand! All their products smell amazing, and they are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, etc. This leave-in spray left my hair super soft without weighing it down. (One piece of advice though – the sample spray nozzle didn’t spray this out in a uniform spritz, so I sprayed it into my hand then applied it to my hair).

Kaplan MD Cellular Rejuvenating Concentrate – 3 ml Value $17

Wow – this product retails for $170 an ounce! 3 ml isn’t enough of a sample size for me to properly evaluate if it improves my skin, but I do think the little dropper sample is adorable. And this serum is free of parabens, sulfates, gluten, etc.

Erno Laszlo Firmarine Bar Soap – .6 oz Value $2.88

These Erno Laszlo soap samples are so tiny! But it’s such a luxe soap I don’t mind. They’re great for travel.

Soap & Glory Pillow Plump Lip XXL Lip Gloss in Pinkwell – 4 ml Value $5.60

This lip gloss has a lot of shine (Swatched below) and a good amount of pigment too. It has a chocolate/cake batter like flavor (love it), but I’m not too crazy about the tingling part of this formula. The info booklet described it as “Pop Rocks on your lips,” and I’d say that’s pretty accurate!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $54. I think that’s a great value, and I like the inclusion of the Tangle Teezer brush! The only item I won’t keep using is the lip gloss – way too much tingling!

I loved this box. The tangle teezer is my favorite thing ever as I have thick long hair and it glides right through my hair like nothing. I love the soap and the serum but I won’t be paying for full sizes. The Pixie toner is really nice and so is the primer. Not a fan of lip gloss so the lip gloss will be tossed or donated. Great box!

I signed up for this box the beginning of the month and it was awesome!!! I love and use everything but the moisture milk (leaves my hair greasy and weighed down..dislike ALL those milk conditioners)

The lipgloss is amazing and the tingling goes away but the gloss has amazing staying power!

The teeny tiny bar soap is super cute!?

I just cancelled Ipsy for the new Sephora box. I also get BB and Boxy. Do ya’ll like this sub more than Boxycharm?

Thanks liddybug. I may try the Allure box. Will wait and see how the Sephora sub goes.

Hard to compare Allure to Boxycharm because Boxycharm is 6.00 more but sends mostly full sizes. Allure is good for getting small sample sizes that are great to toss in your purse or gym bag or to try something before spending money on the full size. Boxycharm is more product for not much more money. Honestly I love them both but if I had to pick I would keep Allure because I love trying new products.

That lip gloss wasn’t a “pop rock explosion”. It burned like FIRE. SHRIEK!!!! It smelled nice tho.

Enjoyed the rest of the box! I really like the revamped Allure box.

Is this particular box still available?

No. You have to subscribe by the 8th of the month to get that months box. If you sign up after the 8th you get the next month. So if you sign up now you would not get a box til October.

I started this sub box just for the brush, and man, it didn’t disappoint. My 5yo daughter has thick tangley hair and this is a miracle worker, she won’t let me use anything else. Seeing as the brush retails for $15, the rest of the box is just very nice icing on the cake. I was just going to sign up for this box alone, then cancel, but now I can’t decide if I should stay on.

Allure is one of my favorites; I would cancel GlossyBox before I would cancel this one. Im in the same spot right now – trying to downsize my “addictions”. LOL. Glossy has to go and I think perhaps

Im thinking to keep:

Birchbox (I currently have 2 need to get rid of one!)
PopSugarMustHave (just cause its so much fun each month!)

Im on the fence about Ipsy. LOVE the little bags for organizing! And since the rest seem to be more hair/skin oriented, I think Ipsy is good to get a few makeup pieces. I tend to wear Clinique foundation mostly so the few extra mascaras/eyeliners are just icing for me and dont annoy me as much as others cause I dont have that many “makeup” subscriptions, if that makes sense.

I just got rid of Ipsy myself taking me down to
PopSugar MustHave
FabFitFun (fall box)
Wantable Accessories
(then I’ll occasionally do a month of either Boxycharm or Your Bijoux Box if the spoilers are sounding good).

Considering Testing out the Allure box. These samples looked good – definitely worth the extra $5.

This month looks great! If they keep up this quality of box, I might subscribe, but I’m waiting for at least two more months before I decide.

I love, love, LOVE this month’s Allure BB!!!! I’ve tried everything (only the PIXI toner is almost gone and my Target stores are sold out). The brush is amazing (I will need to try this on my grand kids). E. Laszlo soap does a wonderful job and feels great;it’s amazing how much foam you can get from this tiny sample. The lips gloss, was interesting and I’ve grown to like it. Allure, for me, has “hit this one out of the park!!!!”.

I was super excited about this box. The Tangle Teazer has changed my life! I have thick hair and it is a disaster to comb through wet. I absolutely love this brush and will be re-purchasing. I also love the lip plumper. Call me crazy but I like the way it feels on my lips and I definitely feel like it plumps. Just a warning to everyone the Pixi tonic expires November 1st of this year so make sure to use that sample up fast!

The Pixi tonic doesn’t expire, only the Target coupon expires on 11/1. So if you don’t get to it just yet your all good 🙂

I loved everything in this box!! I’ve been dying to try the pixi glow toner and i looove tingle lip glosses. The toner is great, but I don’t think it is great enough to replace my clinique toner. I’m surprised how much I like the alterna hair milk, hair products don’t usually wow me. The serum is fun to try, but again I don’t think it is amazing enough to replace anything I am currently using.

I liked everything except the lip gloss. It was such a horrible feeling on my lips.

This month seems a lot better than last month’s, and certainly better than the month before. Hopefully this is a good sign of what Allure is going to do in the future.

I don’t get this box, but I got that Erno Lazlo soap in my last Dermstore box and I have to say, it lasted me forever, and I LOVED it. Enough to more than likely buy it once I’m done with my current cleanser (that I had bought right before receiving that bar.)

Hi, I’m not on the swap site yet. If any of you amazing ladies would like to swap or sell this box, I’d be super interested. I don’t have this sub but love everything in this box. 🙂 Let me know! Thanks!

I just cancelled this month but this box was a wonderful parting gift: I am completely sold on this detangle brush! It was a wonderful surprising antidote to my product overload.

I loved this box, I signed up last year for a couple months and it sucked. The tangle teezer spoiler made me sign up again. I like it, but still have to use detangler with it for my hair. I liked how the lipgloss smells, but otherwise it pretty much burns my lips, not a “pop rock explosion”. Actually everything in the box smelled great, it was like a box of scented stuff, minus the brush.

Thank you Liz for this update. I just signed up for this box. I hope I get this September box. So exciting.

I’m really fond of this month’s box. I think my favorite item was the Kaplan MD serum. Yeah, it’s small, but that’s understandable considering how much the product retails for (I think the dropper vial is super cute too). Personally, I don’t mind small samples of expensive products, since it gives me the opportunity to try out something I wouldn’t be able to buy impulsively.

Allure is one of my fav subs. Put it on hold but will prob turn back on in dec. Also, like that the ship at the beginning of the month. Liked everything in this box.

i have received this box for the last 3 months and it just always works for me. I already ordered a larger size of the Alterna. I just love that product. It is a nice box and this was a very good month.,

I really liked the Tangle Teazer! I think it’s a toss-up between our and the Wet Brush. I liked the Pixi toner, too, but I’m not sure it’s better than my usual. It’s definitely good that it’s alcohol-free; that’s all I use.

I think they did a pretty good job this month! Seven products is great, although I do think that if they could have included a bigger sample of the Kaplan MD by putting it in a box with fewer products, they should have.

I loved everything about this box. I have super long, thick naturally wavy hair and the tangle teaser is the only brush that literally glides right through my hair. Love the Alterna conditoner. I have used the Pixie toner before and loved it so am glad to have more. I really love the facial soap and will definitely buy the full size regardless of how pricey it is. The serum is really nice but not 170.00 nice lol I like the primer but nothing special about it. I won’t use the lip gloss just because I rarely ever wear lip products. Seriously a great box!

“really nice but not 170.00 nice” Yep! Exactly my thoughts!

I loved this box just because of the Pixi Glow Tonic. I want to try to swap for a lot more!

I am not a fan of the lip gloss though.
