If I just signed up for the allure beauty box on September 2nd, does anyone know when I will get my first box? There’s not really any information on the website and I couldn’t find an email for customer care.

I called to cancel last month but still got September’s box. Not sure whether I was too late or they messed up, but I’m very happy with this box, so I’m glad it happened.

This is my first beauty box subscription of any kind, and I’m pleasantly surprised by what it contained. There were several products for varying age groups, so my 18 year old daughter and I (age 48) can split some things up and share others.

Loved this month’s box. It contained the following:
Kaplan MD Cellular Rejuvenating Concentrate
Soap & Glory Pillow Plump XXL Lip Gloss in Pinkwell
Tangle Teezer
Alterna Replenishing Moisture Milk
Pixi by Petra Glow Tonic
Erno Laszlo Firmarine Bar Soap
Jane Iredale Smooth Affair Facial Primer & Brightener
This box was STUFFED with amazing products. I have already tried the Pillow Plump and that stuff is amazing. The Firmarine Bar Soap is super gentle and effective. The Pixi Tonic has a pleasant scent and leaves my face, clean and fresh. I am working my way through this very stuffed box. Allure Beauty Box continues to be my top monthly beauty box.

I agree! I have 8 boxes now and plan to start cancelling some so I can justify getting a few of the holiday beauty collections coming out. I plan to keep only 3 sub boxes and Allure is definitely making the cut (along with Birchbox and Boxycharm, in case anyone cares). From the curation to the customer service to the little magazine that spells everything out, I just like it month after month, even when the offerings are a little light. 🙂

I do not recommend this box at all. I was told I was getting July’s box, but it never shipped. I emailed customer service every few days for almost 3 weeks and never got a response. I called and was told my July box was on its way. I received an August box instead. I called customer service again and the representative was rude and wouldn’t answer my question. I spoke to a supervisor who was also rude and said nothing showed up from me calling previously and that they couldn’t see emails because it was a different department. He finally cancelled my subscription, and I was told I would not be charged or receive another box. Today, I got an email that my box was shipped, but never got notice of being charged. I had even received an email confirmation that it was cancelled. However, my bank account showed the charge. I had to call 7 times because customer service kept hanging up on me. In the end I was told to keep the box and a refund was issued. This kind of thing should never be a problem when a supervisor cancels your sub.

I just signed up in August and already received the September box, on August 31st! Glossybox could take a lesson from Allure Beauty Box. I really like everything in it, I ordered it because of the tangle teezer.

If I sign up now will I get August or September box? Anybody know?

I was told by an Allure customer service rep that you have to order by the 8th of the month to receive that months box…

The September box. I ordered on August 5th or so and when I contacted support they said I would be getting the Sept box.

I’m looking forward most to the Pixi Glow. I was planning to buy it, but getting to try it first is even better! For me, that and the Tangletweezer cover the price of the box. Last month’s box was very blah for me, and I gave about half of it away, but this one is much better for me.

I love these products and usually always do. My problem with this box isn’t the products, it’s the sizes. The liner we got for August is 1/4 the size I got free at Ulta. If the items I am going to get are less than or equal to what gets thrown in my bag for free when I make a purchase at Ulta, well I’d rather buy something I want at Ulta and get a handful of samples than pay for just a handful of samples. The products would be great if they didn’t all keep coming in the sizes makeup stores give out free.

I think the Tangle Teaser is being incredibly UNDERRATED! I would be lost without it. I’d even go as far as saying it would be my “Deserted Island” must have. I have A huge head of long, wavy, thick hair, but the strands are rather fine. I typically have to beat it into submission. This has made my life so much easier & my hair has been spared damage/breakage.
I can’t imagine this not being a God sent for anyone who’s tried it. As with any comb/brush, you’ve got to start w small sections @ the bottom. I start, using the narrowest part to begin, & then as I move my way up through my hair I’ll use the full width of the tangle teaser.
My 20 yr old daughter was over the other day, & asked for a brush so she could braid her hair. She absentmindedly started through her hair & then held it out & said “what is this? It’s magic!”. She the proceeded to finish up & then stuck it in her purse.
Needless to say I’m a fan & I think I may order a couple more boxes just for this. There great in the shower for combing deep conditioner. Nightstand, purse, vanity.
Get excited about this one! It’s a game changer.
(…sorry to ramble in my very first comment on MSA. )

Oh, I’m excited. I think this might be my “keep in the motorcycle to tame my helmet/wind head” hair!

Why was my comment deleted? All I said was that I have this comb, and it’s useless on thick hair.
Does anyone know how cancellation works on this one? I really want this specific box, am I able to sign up this month and they cancel subscription? Can I cancel online or via email? Hate calling, they always sucker me into staying!

I’ll probably end up selling the entire box for this month – might you be interested? My email is [email protected] – let me know if you are!

Skipping this box since I have enough beauty items at the moment.. but wanted to comment that I LOVE Alterna Caviar, their Anti-Aging Replenishing line has been amazing for my color treated dry, brittle hair! Definitely worth trying!

If it helps you feel any better, I already subscribe and love this box so much..right before I got to your comment my hand was making its way to my purse while my head was arguing “seriously, another box?”…but..but…this stuff I likee!!!! No…loveeeee. I know this is the Allure thread but I have to find where the Sept one is for Pop Sugar. It’s my 2nd one from them and I’m just blown away. I was planning on cancelling one of these subs but not in the foreseeable future. Cannot wait to use that tangle/hair thing from Allure box and ALL the other products were things I want/use/love. I’ve started to make more frequent updates to ‘preferences’ either based on spoilers and realizing that my ‘stated’ preferences may opt me out of one of them or when I start getting too much of one thing or another because EVERY box sent one like it recently. Getting a better variety and ‘replenish’ of the stuff I do consistently like just when a sample has run out.
