Juneberry Subscription Box Review August 2015 - info

The theme for Juneberry's inaugural box is "dreamers." This is the info card that lists out all this month's products. They also send little decorations in the packing material - I love these little glowing twinkle stars!

Juneberry Subscription Box Review August 2015 - notebook-tea

Dream Journal - Value $6

I couldn't find this little notebook online, so I'm listing the value they gave, although it seems a little high to me. It's a very cute notebook, though, and it would be great as a dream journal!

Yogi Soothing Caramel Bedtime Tea - Value $2

I love Yogi teas, and I can't wait to try this one! I'm all about things that promote rest and calmness.

Juneberry Subscription Box Review August 2015 - powder

bareMinerals All-Over Face Powder - Value $25 ($20 on Amazon)

This is a nice product and a great inclusion in this box, but it's a miss for me, unfortunately. I have really sensitive skin, plus powders tend to accentuate my fine lines. There's nothing fine about them!

Juneberry Subscription Box Review August 2015 - dreamcatcher

DIY Dreamcatcher - Value $5 ($9 at Michael's)

This is so strange, my seven-year-old just asked me the other day to make him a dreamcatcher! Now we can make this one together. So cool!

Juneberry Subscription Box Review August 2015 - bracelets

'Dream Big' Bracelet Set - Value $16

I couldn't find these bracelets online either, but the value they listed seems fair. I love these! They are really pretty together, and I love the message.

The Verdict: This month was a complete hit for me with the exception of the face powder, which I will probably swap. I'm really enjoying Juneberry so far! The listed values add up to about $54, which I think may be a little inflated, but still far above the box price of $28.50. This was a great box, and I think their theme this month was well executed. Fun!

One person’s opinion here but the Bare Mineral make-up seems like an item to try rounding up the value of the box. It isn’t for dreaming or night time, so how does it fit in to the theme? The sample tea is a few small bags: I get free Tea from Yogi so don’t know if $2. is stretching the value. The bracelets I think are cute and of a decent quality, and the dreamcatcher is a nice idea but has a low cost feel. I think this could be fun and interesting as a Sub but either with higher end inclusions or a lower price point. Too early to tell though, will keep my eye on this one and see what future boxes hold.

I’m sad to say I was disappointed with this box. After seeing the June Juneberry box (and just missing the cutoff to get it) I was really looking forward to this one. The June box had such pretty accessories like the gorgeous headband and scarf. But this one fell flat. My journal has what appears to be a company logo on it and a printed url of some blog. I haven’t tried typing in the url to see what comes up but it came off as a little free notebook for advertisement. I can see how the box is true to its theme of Dreamers but besides the bracelet, which I have worn once, everything else just got shoved in a drawer for me. I canceled for now and will just keep an eye on future boxes of this subscription.

The items are creative and the box sticks by the theme. As far as jewelry quality …. the only quality real stone, not plastic jewerly. I’ve seen is in Yogi Surprise. Even though I wont use any of the items in the box I like this box. I also like that it’s every other month instead of monthly.

This is actually a Canadian sub, so these amounts seem inflated if you’re thinking in terms of US Dollars. Multiply the amounts x .76 (including the cost to subscribe) and you’ll have their intended value.

I bought the yearly subscription and my PayPal receipt was in CAD but after conversion it was just a few dollars over $100 total for six boxes. I’m very happy with this subscription for that price. I’ve enjoyed both boxes so far. It may not be for everyone and I respect everyone’s opinion, but to be fair to Juneberry, I believe their intention was for those values to be in CAD. My orders have shipped USPS from the Niagara Falls area, so they may have a way to ship from both sides of the border to keep prices down.

Just my $.02.

Isn’t that an old container of Bareminerals? I haven’t seen any like that one in years, now they just say mineral veil on them.

I’m not sure that it matters, I can’t imagine this product would ever expire (there shouldn’t be anything in it to make it go bad). But these are for sale on e-bay, bonanza and alibaba, If you buy a lot of at least 50, they’re about $3 each.

Bare Minerals has been a staple in my makeup case for over a decade now, their mineral powder foundation was the only thing that seemed to work for my sensitive, combination/oily, blemish prone skin, as well as giving me great coverage of imperfections will still looking natural. I have a serious sub box addiction, and get at least 5 beauty boxes a month, an active subscriber for over a year and a half (not to mention special offer boxes and LE boxes)….and I have yet to receive a single Bare Minerals foundation/powder, even when I bought a Bare Escentuals Mystery box! So, seeing the Bare Minerals powder piqued my interest. The purple dreamcatcher kit is also a hit! The bracelets would be great, if they were silver, I don’t do gold. I already have 3 journals that I don’t use in my possession and just gifted the one I received in Globe-In’s Wander box. While I love coffee, I don’t do tea unless it’s sweet and iced, or a chai latte with a dollop of whipped cream! So….the tea, gold jewelry, and journal saved me! I will hope to see the 2 items that got me excited on the swap boards, and keep an eye out for a discounted subscription to this box! Very nice curation!

I often thought I could too make my own box by buying stuff at the Dollar store and Ali Express, ascribing it a ridiculous RV and calling it a day. But I hope I’d do a better job than Juneberry.

I have to agree with you. I just read through the Juneberry reviews and I do think the stuff looks awfully cheap for a $30 box.

Ouch!

I believe this is a Canadian box so I don’t think there is additional postage to Canada.
