Julep Neutrals Welcome Box Review + Free Box Offer Box

Julep Maven is a monthly nail polish and beauty subscription. (Each month they release a new collection and you can customize which items you want or skip that month).

Julep Neutrals Welcome Box Review + Free Box Offer Open

I have a regular subscription to Julep Maven, and Julep reached out to see if I would be interested in reviewing one of their free Welcome boxes. (The free Welcome box is the first box you get when you sign up for a Julep subscription, and a great way to try out the nail polish and makeup to see if it is for you).

This box was sent to us for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Currently, Julep is offering a free Neutrals Welcome box:

Julep Gel Eye Glider in Smoky Taupe Shimmer – Retail Value $16

This eyeliner is one of my absolutely favorite Julep beauty products – it glides on so easily, gives great pigment, and stays in place! I think they were very smart to include this as the featured beauty item in this welcome box!

Swatched below:

Verdict: I think this Welcome Box is a great way to try out Julep products and the Maven experience. I really like the little booklet they include so that you have all the information upfront. The retail value is great too – about $58.

(If you’re interested in trying out Julep products but don’t want to try a subscription yet, I also recommend their monthly mystery boxes, or swapping for a few Julep products!)

I ended up signing up because I love this welcome box. It will be perfect for my daughter, she’s obsessed with nail polish! May even save for Christmas! I’m excited to try Julep, seems like they have a lot of perks!

Does anyone know whether or not Julep is against animal testing?

I am kind of interested in julep for their makeup but I’m not really into nail polish. Question for anyone: When you do your monthly selection do you have to select nail polish?

I don’t like polish, but I love julep body and Beauty products they ate the absolute best. There is an option to subscribe to an only beauty product box 🙂

No, you can customize your subscription and swap out nail polish for makeup at selection time. You can get two makeup items, usually, or three polishes, or two polishes and one makeup item (plus any add-ons you chooose).

I love the eyeliners too. They’re my absolute favorite gel pencils. They have great pigmentation and they don’t budge once they’re set. I think they blow the urban decay 24/7 liners out of the water. Wish they came in more colors…

What colors are you hoping for? I am a julep eyeglider junkie….I love all the colors and it seems to me they have a ton. The ones out of the stargazer set are my favorites.

Thank you for reviewing a welcome box! I am waiting for one with colors that I don’t have but I definitely want to sign up at some point. And I highly recommend the mystery boxes too! Such a great value and full of different colors! I definitely think the polishes are pretty great quality too. Currently wearing Cassidy from the Day Mystery box and its been four days with not a single chip 🙂

Do you use a primer with those gliders? Because after about half a day, they have migrated halfway up my eyelids!

They are easy to put on, though. One of the only pencil-style products I like for eyeliner in terms of application.

This happened to me constantly and drove me insane.

I tried playing around to find a solution, and found that applying the liner, dusting my lids with e.l.f.’s High Definition Powder (translucent), and then reapplying the liner over the powdery parts works like a charm. I haven’t tried this with eyeshadow on since the powder shadow seems to prevent the liner transfer.

Ever since I started doing this my Julep liners of all colors have stayed put and won’t budge.

Thanks. Seems worth a try. And e.l.f. stuff is cheap.

Second the primer recommendation. I use Urban Decay creme primer in Sin and the newest version “Minor Sin” (which is more sheer than the original). I never tried the gliders without using primer so it sounds like that makes all the difference.
