GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Repellent

Zoe Organics Insect Repellent - FULL SIZE! Value $22

I actually like the smell of this insect repellent - and it is all organic. Hopefully it works to deter bugs too!

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Powder

Love Fresh Cream Deodorant in Lavender - 2 oz Value $15

I just noticed that this brand also sells natural deodorant in stick form! (I prefer that application over the typical tub container most natural deodorants come in). I like this lavender scent, so if the formula works for me, I'll stock up on the stick version!

w3LL People Bio Brightener Invisible Powder - (Size not listed) Value $8?

I like this powder and the W3LL People brand in general. It helped cut down on shine, and gave an overall luminous effect. (I just wish the sample was a little easier to work with - there's no inner plastic part that keeps you from accessing all the powder at once).

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Oil

Kahina Giving Beauty Fez Body Serum - 5 oz Value $7.35

I'm so glad Goodebox shipped this in a separate bag - because it leaked! I like the essential oil blend for the scent, and the formula absorbs quickly - I think this will now be a part of my post-shower beauty routine.

GoodeBox Eco Beauty Subscription Box Review – August 2015 Eyeshadow

Au Naturale Powder Eye Shadow in Mojave - FULL SIZE! Value $15

Au Naturale is another natural beauty brand that I love. I like both their powder and cream eye shadows, and I've found that their powder shadows tend to be a little more pigmented. This shade is absolutely gorgeous:

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $67. I think that's great for a $21 natural beauty box, and I'm happy with all the product sizes too. For me this is a good mix of brands I'm familiar with, and some new discoveries too.

What do you think of the August Goodebox? What was your favorite product this month?

I was disappointed in my box this month. I got 2 small samples of a Kahina serum, a Zoe refresh spray, Mojave eye shadow, and an Orange Patchouli deodorant. I HATE the patchouli smell but the deodorant does seem to work. I won’t use the w3ll people product or the Zoe spray as I’m not really sure what the purpose of either are.

I got a very similar box, I got the Everything Balm & the Kahina Body Oil, and that is perfect for me, it’s impossible for me to moisturize too much. I got the Lovefresh Orange Patchouli deodorant, and I’m a closet patch fan, so that made me very happy! I love au naturale already, the Gold Dust eye shadow – I might save it for my daughter for dance recitals. I love the little powder. I’ve never tried W3ll People before.

My daughter got the deodorant in rose – perfect, the Balm stick, and some other items geared at the younger crowd. (Our sleep-over friend just woke up, got to go!)

Anyway, we loved our boxes! This sub is to die for!

I am thrilled with this month’s box! I received –
1) Love Fresh Lemon Verbena deodorant – I’m a natural deodorant junkie, and this one smells divine. I rotate between Primal Pit Paste, Meow Meow Tweet, and Love Fresh’s Mandarin Lime stick. Their stick version’s odor protection lasts all day, and the product causes no irritation. This sample came in a jar, and has a consistency similar to that of Meow Meow Tweet for easy spreading. I love it!
2) Au Naturale powder eyeshadow in gold dust – This is a lovely, shimmery gold, and is my new go-to base. I use it all over my lid, and then use a darker color in the crease.
3) W3ll People Invisible Brightener Powder – I received a full size of this in the ANFGB box. It’s ok, but I can’t go without foundation, and I’m not sure I see a benefit to applying this powder on top of my foundation.
4) Josh Rosebrook volumnizer spray – I was hoping for this in my box! This product works great on my fine hair, and gives me an extra boost without stickiness. It’s a quick and easy application, too. (I apply this on wet hair, and then blow dry.) I should note that I also use my current product to add curl to the ends, Meraki’s rosemary-mint hair wax. This duo is amazing together!
5) Zoe Organic insect repellant – I wish this had come earlier in the season, but I’m still happy to get a natural insect repellent spray!

I received almost the exact same box as Andi, but my Zoe Organics product was the Refresh Oil.

I swapped my Love Fresh deodorant because I received the rose scent, which is just not my scent. I love a good natural deodorant, though, so I may need to order a different scent and try this brand out!

Wow, you got a very generous Kahina sample! I would have loved to have gotten the serum. I got a half ounce facial cleanser instead. I got the lemon verbena deodorant – apparently I have bad luck getting the more pungent herbal scents with natural deodorant samples. I suppose sweeter, flower scent oils are too expensive to add. I’ll still give it a try even though I’m not crazy about the scent. But it is good to hear that they have a roll-on stick version which isn’t common with natural deodorants. I got the Zoe Organics Everything Balm and love it! I like that the box value and sample sizes increased with the increases sub fee but I didn’t feel like this box was as customized as past boxes. I was disappointed that they included 2 makeup products because they have always honored my no makeup preference in the past.

I love Goodebox, but I got almost the same box except I got the Zoe Organics Everything Balm instead of the insect spray but I didn’t get the Kahina body serum and no other replacement product 🙁 I emailed them to see if it was an oversight. I hope it was because I would love to try that product. I have tweaked my profile quite a bit with Goodebox and am very happy with the selections I get now.

I got basically the same items, and like most of them. With the price increase, they did increase the value of the items which I’m happy about. I used the bug spray the other day and it worked great. Glad to see practical items like this in their boxes. I agree I would have also liked the stick form verses cream form in deodorant, especially if it is more then a tiny 1 use sample size.
